  • Great place to learn about Sturgeon Spearing

    We stayed in this cozy cottage to "experience" sturgeon spearing season on Lake Poygan & Winnebego. We woke one day to the sounds of chain saws cutting ice and then to ATVs zooming on the ice. The cottage was warm, cozy, cute and comfortable with extras like TP, spices, aluminum foil, and trash bags, all very much appreciated. The owners welcomed us with a tray of coffee, snacks, and 2 wonderful coffee mugs. This was a great place to stay.

  • Cute Cottage on a Beautiful Lake

    The Fremont Cottage was perfect for my husband and I, our 2 teenagers, and 2 dogs. It was just as clean and cozy as advertised. We enjoyed relaxing in the lake during the day; it has a beautiful, sandy bottom and is very shallow. At night we enjoyed watching movies together on Neflix, Apple TV, etc. We also rented a pontoon boat from Anchor Point Marina and took it up and down the Wolf River and all the way out to Lake Winnebago.

    The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the insane amount of spiderwebs covering the deck furniture, swing, and dock. We were really excited about lounging outside, but there wasn't anywhere clean to do so. I know spiderwebs are inevitable, but it appeared as though the deck and swing hadn't been sprayed or cleaned in months. We tried cleaning them with cups of water and that didn't work. I tried using the hose but it was too leaky.

    That being said, we still thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would happily stay here again!
