Small town charm

While we had been through Colonial Beach a few times, this was our first stay. It is a great weekend get away spot. Spent a little time on the beach. Got in a little shopping. Found some goodd food, Wilkerson’s was a standout. And found a very active night life! Wasn’t expecting this. The Black Pearl is an outdoor bar with live music that Is steps from the main beach area. There is also a restaurant at this location.

Dockside tiki bar is a short golf cart rid to the south at the Marina. Had a great band “Taboo” playing. Great staff, drink selection, and a bar food menu. Everything we could ask for. This was not a wild drunken party area. Many families with children were there and all, adults as well as kids were well behaved.

Rental golf cart makes getting around simple. Plan your trip now.

And I guess I should mention the house. Very nice. Seems to be relatively new. Everything was clean and functioned as it should. Beds were comfortable. We did not cook while there but the kitchen was well appointed. No Keurig coffee maker but we have a small off brand model that we take on trips so that was not a problem.

Nice place to stay

Very nice house. Very comfortable beds. NOT a well equipped kitchen-bring your own Tupperware, baggies, etc. if you like to cook (like we do) no big bowls for serving. Otherwise there is shampoo, linens, towels, soap, paper towels, TP. The manager is unbelievably nice and super responsive. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay.

Disappointing

The filter on the refrigerator was not working and there was no ice or cold water. When I communicated this to the property manager she stated that it was broken and should be repaired by Tuesday. Our check out date was on Monday. She offered to bring ice and water, but did not do it. Found loose cookies in the night stand from previous guests. Headboards we’re not secured to beds which made for a noisy night whenever you moved in or on the bed. Overall I was very happy to leave. Also the tone of the text was almost bordering on the manager being rude.
