    5/5

We had views of the mountains surrounding Taos out of every window. The most spectacular views out of kitchen and living room with a balcony view out of one bedroom, too. The owner has lovingly designed and put together a spectacular work of art inside of this home. We enjoyed a balcony out of the door where the outdoor stairs led to entry. The ground entry to the left as you look at the home shares a foyer and our quarters were through the door on the right. We did not use this room much but it had a beautiful view out to the courtyard in back and some workout equipment. The rest of the quarters were up the stairs that were to the left after entering. Jesse was very responsive when we could not get the TV to come on. It was just batteries needed for the remote and she was on top of it and had it working quickly. Visiting with her I learned that she designed this wonderful southwest interior and she share some of the fun secrets that some of the wall art held. The weather cooperated and gave us the week that Taos dreams are made of, even 2 snowfalls that quickly disappeared as the day warmed. However, my daughter enjoyed a great snowboarding day at Taos Ski Valley. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and pots etc. to enable you to have meals well prepared. Each day you will wake to discover new items in the decor that delight and inspire you. The painted walls are in themselves works of art! I could speak volumes but IYKYK. It has TAOS Spirit!

We are delighted with our stay in this beautifully southwest styled and decorated home. From the views of the mountains in almost every window to the interior meticulously painted and designed to reflect the TAOS spirit it was wonderful to stay here for our Taos adventures. We spent Easter morning bright and early at the Rio Grande Gorge Sunrise service (so inspiring watching the sun rise over the mountain). This was only a few miles from the house. Also, just down the road less than a mile was the Millicent Rogers Museumn (so worth the visit). Taos Plaza, the oldest one, is about a 10-12 minute drive into town as this home is in El Prado, a bit outside of main town. We did some shopping there, ate at La Cueva (yummy fresh food), and also enjoyed the Taos Art Museum at the Fechin Home. Each day was a terrific adventure of exploring and coming to know and feel more about TAOS. Because of the well stocked kitchen utensils, pots, pans and even some condiments etc. we were able to cook breakfasts easily and enjoy meals at the house as well as eating out. The burgers at 5Star Burger were good with excellent attentive service. Jesse, the owner and designer of abode, was very responsive to us when we had difficulty with the TV. It was a simple fix putting batteries into the remote! She was diligent to figure that out and get it working! She shared some of the story of putting the home together and how some of the artwork there has some secrets to find if you look hard. The location was enjoyed by our pup, who got to take some nice walks around the backyard and up and down the dirt road that we drove in. My daughter enjoyed a day snowboarding out at Taos Ski Valley since we received two snowfalls while staying in Taos! I enjoyed some more shopping time and relaxation time at the house. It was a great place to catch up on reading and just soaking up a slower pace of life. The home is up stairs, so may not be accessible to all. If you want a true reflection of southwest style and appreciate wonderfully kept, decorated, and loved home, this is the one.

The unique details of this property are amazing. Great NM vibe - carvings, paintings, artwork. Kitchen had everything we needed; just don’t buy anything large to freeze. Nice, small outside balcony with a view. This property is upstairs which requires climbing a dozen or so steps.

On the downside, the TV reception was terrible and we couldn’t figure out how to stream (it was a Dish). Even changing the channels was difficult.

We appreciated the owner letting our dog roam around in the large backyard, although she wasn’t fond of the back stairs (slippery for her paws.)

One disturbing visual was an old paint can and some construction debris clearly visible from the balcony and one of the bedrooms. Maybe it’s OK in an unincorporated area to just have a “pile” but it’s pretty unsightly.
