• Has potential, however..DIRTY, and UNSAFE!

  We rented this place for a weekend for a family Christmas get together. It looked amazing ONLINE! We got here. It is pretty and it has so much potential. The kids could run and play, it was big. Plenty of room for all 13 of us to sleep. However we started finding things wrong and kept finding them the entire time. Every surface was caked with dust. Dead bugs everywhere. Mold in bathrooms from continued wet floors. At least 2 showers that leak. One has a sign not to use but there are 6 more. Other one was king room upstairs leaked tondownstairs bedroom and when primary contact was called, didn't answer. Text she would call later. When text her the problem she informed me to make sure the shower curtain was closed and it was and to put a bucket under it. The furniture is filthy. One yellow couch had a black cushion. The floors are sticky. There are dead bugs everywhere. We had a wasp problem. Killed 3. Nephew ended up getting stung. When pulled out beds to looknfor it 100s of dead bigs underneath. There were dirty underwear in drawers that were not ours. There were dirty towels in the washer that were not ours. The dryer vent doesn't go outside. It is in a bucket. We could find 1 smoke alarm in the entire house. There were places for others but they had been removed. There were brown spots on some of the toilets. The rugs in the bathrooms were covered in dirt. Got a hot pad out to use it and it was filthy. I could go on and on. It is very sad because it is beautiful and could be great. But it needs to be fixed up and CLEANED!!! I hope they take the time to do this very soon.

We have completed a thorough deep cleaning to help improve the overall cleanliness of the home. We understand your concerns and are taking active measures to switch to a new cleaning service so that future guests will not share the same experience. We are looking to replace all of the pots and pans in the kitchen and purchased new pillows, new towels and bedspreads to ensure our high standards are being met and exceeded. • Beautiful Refuge by the Firing Range

  Heavenly Hills is a nice house on a beautiful property. However, that peaceful cup of coffee looking over the lake/pond in the am is less peaceful when the heavy ordinance starts. There is a firing range just over the hill from the property, and, at least on the weekend we were there, it starts at sunrise and goes to sunset. This was not a big deal in the middle of the day when gone, but was unpleasant at ends of the days and not disclosed properly in the ad. The house itself is ok, but is need of a little TLC. Two of the showers leaked thru the floor. We called the property manager who told us to close the shower curtain (no kidding), but we were careful to keep the shower curtain closed, there was just some leaking. There were hornets nests all over the outside and several wasps and hornets were in the house - not from leaving doors or windows open, but just from leaks and disrepair (door screen torn off/hanging upon arrival, gaps in window panes, etc); it just isn’t tight. The ladybugs were present in the thousands in window sills and while not a particular nuisance, a little weird. WiFi was super fast and helpful given lack of good cell phone service. The clean up was easy, though instructions to start laundry with no provided soap was caddy. Check in was a little screwy, as., somehow, VRBO sent instructions to a cell phone not related to our reservations, but the the manager quickly fixed once intracker her down through management co. The manager was kind and accommodating- delivering a propane tank when fuel was out for grill - but pool cues in basement had not tips so they were unusable, and kitchen pots/pans/menagerie was copious, yet strangely inadequate in specific areas (eg no steak knives when we cooked steaks for 8 people).In someways the stories from this place were worth any inconvenience to my group of friends, but for the value proposition, the owner should probably make better effort to make it more Heavenly.

• Peaceful and Relaxing

  The cabin and property was absolutely gorgeous !! The online pictures do not do it justice! The home was very large, everyone was able to find their spot. The pond was great fishing hole, there were canoes and a paddle boat that we took full advantage of! I rated the home as a 3 out of 5 on cleanliness due to the need for thorough cleaning. For the amount that is paid in fees aside from the nightly cost, I would expect a much higher caliber or cleanliness. There were spiderwebs in most corners inside and outside, dirty fridges, limp pillows that easily folded in half, sticky surfaces, and smelly overflowing trash that was closed up in the garage. If cleanliness was given more attention, this place would be the total package!! A hidden gem in Indiana!! Thank you for having us!

  The property was not clean. The amount of dead bugs everywhere in the house was overwhelming, the fridge was found very dirty from prior peoples food upon arrival, there were mouse droppings on the countertops, and the basement was full of spiderwebs. There was an active mouse problem as we wiped droppings off the counter tops every morning. Another helpful point would be that there is no tubs in the house, making it difficult to shower young toddlers/babies.
