  This has been a very memorable stay for my family and I. This was my 30th birthday getaway with my 2 kids and husband. I am from the country and my husband and kids from the city, so to be able to bring them out to this amazing cabin and into the woods, to experience the nature and lifestyle outside of the city was remarkable. The cabin was beautiful inside and out. The cabin was probably our favorite part of this trip. We took a little adventure down to the creek behind it and wow just wow! Highly recommend 😊

• Not bad but could use some attention

  My husband and I traveled here for a couple nights celebrating 21st anniversary.

  Pros-

  Property contact was quick to respond, kind and helpful.

  Cabin was easy to find using gps even after dark.

  Furniture was in good shape and comfortable.

  Close to the little town which had some cute shops.

  Cons-

  cabin appears bigger in pictures on listing.

  Cabin could use a good cleaning.

  Towels left blue lint everywhere when used (on floor, in bathtub, on persons.)

  Hot tub was low on water first night when we arrived so had to add water and didn’t heat up that first night enough to use.

  Pilot light went out 2nd day and unable to use fire place that evening as couldn’t get it to relight.

  Only way to access hot tub is to go outside and down around cabin. Perhaps some robes or heavy warm towels would be nice for guests.

  Heating unit is very loud (when sleeping in bedroom to the left.)

  *There is not much to do in McCaysville. You really need to go to Blue Ridge or outlying areas for any adventure. There were about 4 decent restaurants in town, ALL of which told us either 2+ hour wait or "sorry, we can't take any more customers

  * As far as the rental:

  - The cabin is MUCH smaller than pictures appear. The king bed in the main room had maybe 2 feet from bed to wall all sides. To be fair, the drawers under the bed for clothes was efficient storage! But also, no side table on my side of the bed was a pain

  - All beds were covered in some sort of plastic with then the mattress cover on top. A bit uncomfortable / not cozy. This is probably for sanitation purposes?

  * Cabin decor was very cozy, cute, and comfy.

  * Kitchen well stocked

  * This property should NOT be listed under "waterfront". Basically, you have to walk a blue mile to get to a creek, at one point you have to hand on to a rope to scoot down lest you fall into a ridge, Then when you get to the bottom, you can LOOK at the creek but not so much as dip your feet in it. The reviews read "difficult to get to". They should read "Nearly impossible to get to".

  * Hot tub very nice and well maintained. Deck could use a good cleaning though
