• Could be the perfect place

  We spent my husband’s 50th birthday at the rental. The location, decor & games were great! The property manager Kelly was quick to respond to issues!

  The not so great stuff. The stove/oven has been converted from natural gas to propane incorrectly causing large orange flames to shoot up the inside of the oven walls once it reaches 300 degrees or above. This also caused the stove burners to have large orange flames unless turned to the lowest setting where there you could get a mixture of blue & orange flames. The inside of the oven, all of the pans & the wall behind the stove are all covered in soot since the appliance burns like a fireplace. Due to dietary restrictions we had planned to cook a birthday dinner & cake there but had to change our plans for safety concerns. After sending Kelly a video of the oven flames she sent two different repairmen out to look at the issue while we were kayaking. Both claimed not to find any issues. We checked when we got back to the rental, flames still 6-8 inches high inside the oven walls.

  The microwave was broken. We didn’t know so upon trying to use it the heating element flashed like an electrical shock so we stopped it at once. Kelly did send a small counter microwave that we did not try since we had decided to just eat out for the rest of our stay due to safety concerns.

  The hot and cold water are backwards in the main bedroom bathroom.

  The beds do not have box springs so while not awful, it did feel like a futon when sleeping.

  The front yard is in need of some TLC, particularly the leaf situation.

  The dishes were covered in food. Most places only require that the dishwasher be started upon checkout. This rental requires all dishes to be washed & put away. My guess is the previous renters noticed that part late & only had time to run them under water instead of washing them. Not a biggie, we just washed utensils before using.

  There were no kitchen hand towels or dishrags, only a used sponge. There is a Dollar General nearby where I bought sponges and a dish towel.

  The washer/dryer is in the outside Florida room. There are no ceiling fans or vents to that area so the front loader smelled of mildew.

  There are no ceiling fans in any of the bedrooms. We travel with a small fan so it wasn’t too much of a concern for us in March. Future renters may want to bring their fan in warmer months.

  If these issues were corrected we would definitely stay again! Great location, fun games, cute decor!

  The place was very nice. Nicely decorated and appears to be newly remodeled. We had NO communication with owner. When we got to house to check in , we had not received an email with entry information so I sent an email requesting code to get in. We did not hear anything until 11:24 the following day with the access code.luckily, there was a back door unlocked from which we entered or we would have missed one day of our 3 day getaway.also, no instructions in house for check out instructions . We just winged it. No outside garbage bins to leave our garbage.microwave shoots sparks and no light in laundry room. This sounds negative and we really did enjoy the place and property was better than expected, just no communication.

• Great outdoor space

  We had a nice stay in spite of the bad weather. We had one day of decent weather and made the most of it outside. We utilized the kayaks and explored the Halls river and did a tour floating with manatees on the Crystal River. The other days were quite rainy and cool so we spent the majority of the time indoors. The house has foosball, a ping pong table, large connect four game and Jenga. We used all of them to entertain our selves. The beds are not real comfortable and the kitchen needs a few things. There are spices but bring your own salt. They do supply coffee and filters hand soap, shampoo and conditioner so that was nice. Overall a nice stay.

• Manatee swim

  We were there to fulfill a bucket list wish. The house was perfect for our party of 9. Our host was easy to contact if needed. We would return again.
