  We rented this unit for a weekend stay on the lake with our 8 year old daughter. We entered the unit where we were going to stay and of course looked around. The shower was extremely dirty and not cleaned from the prior guests and had used toiletries. We also saw dead cockroaches on the floor. We decided to walk down to the lake where we were told by the owner that we could use the kayaks and paddle boards with our daughter on the lake. It was very rundown with cobwebs along the path to the water and we looked at the kayaks and they had mouse poop on them along with the life jackets that were also moldy. There was no way we could use the equipment and our daughter was very disappointed. If you advertise you have equipment to use you should maintain it so it can be. This rental is run down and dirty, it should not be rented out. We immediately called evolve, took a few pictures and left and had to find a last minute Mariott for the weekend. Evolve is not a great company to deal with. We were very patient and waited for them to resolve the situation. After two weeks they offered a future travel credit for a 1/4 of what we paid and will not refund us for a place we never stayed in. I would not suggest renting this unit or renting from evolve.

• Awesome lake view

  Had a wonderful time. House accommodated our large family easily. Views of the lake were awesome.

  Property is run down, sulfer smell is not disclosed until you get on site and there were so many ants that we had to leave.

The homeowner would like to note that in the Pre-Stay Information provided to guests before check-in, there's a disclaimer that the hot water may smell of Sulfur as it comes from a well. It's also our understanding that the owner promptly responded to your concerns regarding the ants. While the owner has a regular pest control service that maintenances their property, they cannot control what happens while guests are in residence, and factors like crumbs and left out food can cause pests to appear. Additionally, we're sorry if you felt as though the studio is rundown. The home is exactly as pictured online, so travelers can decide if it's the right home for them before booking.
