  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
For your next coastal getaway, there is nowhere better than the always charming Sanibel! Escape to this quaint Sanibel Island studio condo, a perfect choice for couples. In true Sanibel style, this delightful condo is only a brief walk to one of the world's best shelling beaches and a quick drive to local eateries and boutiques you can't find anywhere else.

    -- THE PROPERTY --

    Studio: Queen Bed, Sleeper Sofa

Sanibel Island provides the best combination of Gulf living, shopping, dining, and shelling in all of Southwest Florida - at this unit, you're poised to experience it all!

This quaint studio condo can accommodate 2-4 guests, making it a fantastic tropical getaway.

Refreshing seaside decor and plenty of natural light make the space feel very bright and airy, just like the island itself. You'll find all the necessary comforts of home inside the unit's delightful interior, such as wireless internet, air conditioning, and ceiling fans to keep you cool and relaxed.

You won't find it hard to stay entertained here, as the flat screen TV comes equipped a DVD player and a wide variety of cable channels, including HBO and ESPN.

When you're not out enjoying the area's fantastic local restaurants, prepare some delicious fresh seafood in the condo's fully equipped kitchen, complete with all the essential appliances.

Later, step outside to the private lanai patio, where you can unwind and admire the Gulf peeking out behind the tropical garden.

    -- THE LOCATION --

When you're ready to get out and explore the area, you won't have to venture far! This studio condo is conveniently within walking distance of beautiful Sanibel Beach, a natural white sand beach with world-class shelling.

While you're there, it's likely you'll see roped off areas of sand - these are either protected bird nests or loggerhead turtle nests, which incubate about 55-65 days and hatch in the middle of the night to avoid predators. Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation volunteers keep track of the nests, and they may know which nest might hatch while you're here!

Enjoy more wildlife just 5 miles away at the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, or nearby at C.R.O.W (the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife), Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum, and Periwinkle Park and Campground.

You'll be a short walk from Sundial Resort, where you can indulge in spa services, onsite restaurants, and a tiki bar. Get used to spending your vacation days relaxing by your choice of 4 pools - this is what vacation is all about! The resort also offers Sanibel Sea School camps, access to the tennis courts, and pickleball. Before heading home, stop by Bailey's general grocery store to pick up whatever you may need back at the condo.

Explore the area further by renting kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles at several rental shops, which deliver equipment directly to you for ultimate convenience. The island is a cyclist's dream -paved bike paths begin across the street from the condo and wind around the entire island.

If you're in the mood for shopping, head to Periwinkle Place or Tahitian Gardens for charming boutiques and galleries before stopping for lunch at one of the area's terrific restaurants. Local favorites include Traders, The Timbers, The Jacaranda, Doc Ford's, and The Purple Cow, to name a few. Make sure to take a boat to the historical Useppa Island or Cabbage Key, home of Jimmy Buffett's "Cheeseburger in Paradise."

Captiva Island, the neighboring island is a hidden gem - head to the Bubble Room for gargantuan portions, gourmet cake, and unique 1950s-meets-Christmas ambiance! Regardless of how you spend your time here, you'll be happy you chose this lovely Sanibel Island vacation rental studio promises the trip of a lifetime!

Lovely studio condo. Perfect for one or two people. Included beach chairs, pool noodles, snorkel gear, even several types of sunscreen! Plenty of towels for both bath and beach. Kitchen was very well equipped although a bit cramped. Very nice barbecue grill just steps across the parking area. Out on the beach in less than 2 minutes. Only issue was how dimly lit the exterior corridors and stairwells were after sundown. This particular unit does not have a light fixture anywhere near the door so I had to carry a small flashlight to be able to find keyhole to get back in unit after dark. I understand the need for low lighting regarding sea turtle nesting, but this side of the building faces the parking lot and street and there is absolutely no view of the beach. Since exterior lighting is uniform across all buildings in the resort I don't see anything ever being done to provide additional lighting so just be aware. Other than that it was a wonderful stay!!

Toni thought of everything in making this home away from home, bottled water, spices, toiletries, sand chairs, sun block and so much more. I would recommend this to friends and family. The resort was gorgeous, beautiful pools with only steps to the beach, the crew at the Tiki Bar were so friendly along with regulars at the resort. If you're looking to relax in the sun with gorgeous sunsets and incredible beaches, this slice of paradise is what you need!

We absolutely love staying at Sundial Resort on Sanibel and have been there 3 times in the last 6 months. We took a chance booking this past trip with a private owner through VRBO/EVOLVE. The studio was cute but in need of a cleaning! The floor was sticky & not swept. The kitchen sink needed scrubbing and the mat smelled of urine. I called the the owner and she seemed to be understanding and also concerned however that was the extent of her communication with us until after we checked out. I sent her pictures and told her I would be cleaning her place myself. I spent our first night of vacation CLEANING and not enjoying the beach! The price was less than renting directly with the resort but you get what you pay for in the end. 6 towels for 2 adults for 5 nights, not allowed to use the main pool,no bike use,no lounge chairs. After we left the studio we received a text from the owner offering us a refund of half the cleaning fee,45 dollars. I can not recommend staying in this particular unit because of these issues. I wish pictures were allowed to be added to my review.

    Manager's Response:
Ulrich, we're deeply sorry your stay wasn't what you expected. We regret that the scenario you came across upon arrival was certainly an isolated one for various reasons as the owner goes above and beyond to ensure it is 100% guest ready for each stay. Once you contacted the owner about the issues you encountered, they offered to have the cleaner come back out, but this offer was declined. The owner went to generous measures to make things right and we are sorry if any actions taken were not satisfactory to you. Since your stay, the owner has switched cleaning companies to prevent the condition in which you found the unit. We would also like to clarify that there are beach chairs at the unit available for guest use as well as lounge chairs by the pool closest to the unit. Also, they provide more than enough for two people staying for five days: 6 bath towels, 6 hand towels, and 4 beach towels. As evidenced by the owner's numerous other reviews, they take pride in their vacation rental, have addressed all the concerns you mentioned, and we are confident this property will continue to provide memorable stays for guests! Best, the Evolve Team

The unit was exactly as described. The check-in process was super easy. The property manager sent me an even more detailed message with pictures to show me exactly where to find the lockbox, which I found very helpful. I found the unit itself to be a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. It really could just use a fresh coat of paint and maybe a new quieter fan in the bathroom. However, being steps away from beautiful beaches and pools you don't end up spending much time in the room. I really appreciated the beach chairs and towels that were available for use. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The bed was very comfortable. The owner/property manager was awesome! I asked for a later check out due to a late flight and they let me stay until the cleaners arrived at 2pm! I would absolutely recommend this condo to anyone traveling to Sanibel.

I noticed in past reviews it said no beach view. While there is not a direct beach front view. There is a small view between buildings when sitting at one end of the balcony. The condo is part of a resort complex and offers access to all but one of the other pools in the complex as well. You will also find several restaurants on site and a small store that is connected to one of the bigger island stores called Bailey's. Be sure to try the fudge! We would stay here again.

Very cute small studio apartment with no view of the water. Fine for just me. The bed would have been too tight for my husband and me. We've stayed in Sanibel about nine times in the last 18 years, and every condo we've stayed in is somewhat dated. We don't mind it, but we recommended Sanibel to our friends and they were pretty disappointed -- they expected a modern condo with fabulous pools and amenities. Sanibel is low key and humble (which we love), but expensive at the same time. The fan in the bathroom needed to be replaced -- it was extremely loud -- but I was assured that would be taken care of. Check on that before you book this condo.

The location was everything you could want for a couple of people on their own! In a few minutes in any direction you could be on the beach, at a resort, at a minI'mart (well stocked), at some restaurants, or out on the trails. For the location and amenities, the price was spot on. Communication was fairly good, but we could have used some better directions of where to pick up the key/fI'd the unit and some other check-in info. We got in very late (around 11:30pm), so it was quite confusing in the dark. Also, where things were in the unit were a little difficult to fI'd, especI'lly the thermostat hI'den behI'd the TV (which we promptly turned off). The unit itself is a small studio with a large screened in lanai, perfect for breathing in the air and eating outside. There were also plenty of extras in the unit like backpack-chairs for the beach. We wanted for nothing except a fan in the bathroom. We had some physical problems with the unit where the TV literally broke off the wall (looks like it was not bolted in to a stud). Decorations and setup were dated but totally functional. But let's be honest: you're going there to be outside and enjoy the area, not to hang out inside except to sleep! But be warned that the ceilings/floors are paper thin and we could hear the upstairs neighbors (AKA the baby elephants) clearly early in the morning, and that means others can probably hear you. We are early bI'ds so this was not a huge issue, but if you like to sleep in this might not be possible. Also, the unit is run by a management company, along with many of the other units surrounding it. This gave the unit and the complex as a whole more of a hotel feel than a home feel. You get way more than from a hotel, but it was not as personal as other places we stayed. Despite the little warnings, you should rent this place. For a couple of people or maybe a couple with a young chI'd you could not do better!

One of the things we appreciated the most were the detailed instructions how to get into the condo. We actually arrived at night in the dark and the instructions were spot on and we had no trouble getting into the condo. The lanai was a joy to spend time in and we even had a partial view of the ocean while enjoying the continual ocean breeze. The beach chairs and umbrellas included were definitely a plus and used. It was only a short walk to the ocean. The condo was clean and quiet and the A/C worked great. There is an icemaker in the freezer and the tap water tasted good. Probably the best part of the kitchen was the coffee maker and bag of ground coffee provided. We only needed to buy half and half which was only $1.70 at the Bailey's General Store on site. Very good stay overall, the property is very clean, has all necessary equipment, quiet A/C. Nice balcony (with a bit of a view on the sea).

Possibly, a small drawback - absence of shops and restaurants in a walking distance (but it seems everybody there has a car, to fully enjoy the island and have a full access to restaurants/shops ). The property is in a large complex of buildings within the Sundial Resort, nice pools available to use. 3 minutes walk to the sea.

One small issues was discovered when I arrived at mid-night -the bed was not done, but I found some clean sheets in a cupboard, so it was ok. I sent an e-mail to the contact person, and in the morning he arrived and everything was done.

Overall, a very nice stay, I would hightly recommend the studio to anybody without any reservation.

The unit was cleaned and tidy upon arrival. Then the toilet backed up (full of number 2). Luckily, I found the number to call in the owner's notebook, and 20 minutes later there was a handyman there to unplug the drain. So it amounted to an hour of my first night there. Otherwise, the unit is a studio with a full kitchen. Very clean. The bed and pillows were more comfortable than most nicer hotels I have stayed in. Previous renters had been leaving some food goods behind, and that came in handy. Four nice beach towels were there, and 2 uncomfortable beach chairs. We bought 2 more and an umbrella and left them there. The weather was beautiful the whole time. Beware the beach full of "sand fleas". They bite painlessly, then the next day you have red marks all over your arms and legs which itch terribly. Looks like you have the measles. Also, the beach is full of ants. Millions of ants. We bought some insect repellant and that seem to stop the insect attack. Sanibel has a lot of really great restaurants, but you must make reservations. Traders, Sweet Melissa, Sunset Grill, Sand Bar--all great. THE BEST food was at Sunset Grill on the far west end of the island. Worth the drive.

She took full responsibility, which all too rarely is the case. Most people try to blame someone else; she did not. She was clearly horrified that this could have happened, and was generous in making restitution. We think this speaks volumes for her desire to please her renters.

This was our first time visiting Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely be returning in the future. The resort is very nice, very clean and very quiet. The unit is perfect for two people and has everything needed to utilize the kitchen. We were happy that there were beach chairs in the unit to take down to the beach which is a very short walk. Beach towels were also included in the unit. Check in and check out were very easy. No resort fee is required but the restaurants and bars were there for our use. The happy hour at the tiki bar is really nice. The pool areas are very clean. The grounds are plush with foliage and very well kept. Everyone is super friendly at the resort and all over the islands. You won't regret renting this unit.

We were only able to stay two nights, but we loved the condo and would definitely return. Location was perfect for us. Bike trails across the street and easy access by car to shops and restaurants. Condo was well appointed with anything you would need and very nicely decorated.

    Nice place to stay

The room was clean and well equipped. We rented bikes for the week and loved riding around Sanibel. Never needed to use our car. The beach was easily accessible and the shelling was superb.

This cozy studio condo was absolutely perfect for my fiance and I, and was everything as advertised and more. You get the spaciousness and amenities of a condo, for the price of a hotel. Can't beat it! We will definitely be coming back again in the future!

My husband and I had an amazing stay at Sundial - the condo was everything it was described to be on the website. Clean, comfortable bed, and well-appointed (Coin-operated laundry room in the building too!) + super location and beautiful resort. This condo is close to the beach; and restaurants, shops, and other attractions are nearby. From reserving online to ease of check-out - all aspects are very well organized.

The room was as described. It was clean, organized and well appointed for our needs. The check-in process was easy and the communication from the leasing agent was very clear. The property is no more than 50 yards from the beach. The pool was excellent and a parking spot was close to the room. i plan to rent this room next year.
