    Fabulous Stay

    Reviewed by: Duncan S. on

I stayed 3 nights in this amazing ground floor apartment. It?s on the historic, and high end Avondale Street that is a short work from pretty much everything - restaurants, coffee shops, bars etc. The property is spotlessly clean with every amenity available (washer & dryer, iron + all kitchen requirements, fluffy towels & strong WiFi). The bed is super comfy and the lounge has soft leather sofas and a flatscreen. I was staying solo, but there is a second bedroom. The area is safe and I can not recommend here higher as for the price it is amazing value.

    Cute but not great

    Reviewed by: J Martin on

The place is cute in its set up and was convenient for all the things we needed to do while attending a wedding in Houston. However, be prepared for the tenant upstairs to stomp up and down the stairs at 7:45AM each morning. Although, beyond that, there wasn't much notice of the upstairs neighbor. However, speaking of the upstairs neighbor, the stairs that go up to their half of the house go through the ceiling of the bathroom. This means anyone over 5.5 feet tall will likely bash their head time and time again when getting to the toilet. Lastly, while in the bathroom, the water pressure is nearly non-existent.

In summary, the place was cute and in a decent area, but some noise and water-pressure issues being corrected could go a long way to making this property better.

Manager's Response: Hi J Martin, We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the property's convenient Houston location! There are full-time tenants in the unit above this apartment, and the homeowner has spoken with them about being more respectful of guests at the property. They also had their maintenance team replace the shower head to resolve the issue with the water pressure. Thank you for helping us improve the experience of future guests, and we look forward to traveling with you again soon! Best, the Evolve Team

Pleasant, quiet, spacious and conveniently located

We rented this property for a few days while attending a convention. It is comfortable, clean and spacious, with basic kitchen necessities. Walking distance from some coffee shops & restaurants. This is a great value compared to what you?d get at a hotel for the same price. Property manager was in contact and available, though we never needed his help.

    charming arts and crafts

    Reviewed by: Clay R. on

Spacious first floor of a beautiful arts and crafts home on a tree-lined street in Montrose. Beautiful stained box beam ceiling. The kitchen is somewhat dated if you plan to do a lot of cooking but perfectly serviceable for a short stay. The upstairs tenant was not noisy but you can hear them walk across the floor - this was not an issue for me and is expected from an old home. The driveway can be a challenge but just go slow and be careful it has a slight curve. All is all would stay again.

The space was absolutely perfect, just as good as the photos look. Everything was very comfortable, including the beds. It is just a really nice space. The location couldn't be better as you can easily stroll down to bars, restaurants, etc. We also did the Houston B Cycle bike rentals and used those to get all around town. Having this as home base make for a great weekend in Houston. My only disappointment was the early check out time at 10am, particularly because our event we were in town attending went late into the evening Saturday and we didn't need to leave for the airport until closer to noon. I requested a check out extension and there was no flexibility since this space is managed by an "agency" and not a typical Airbnb person. So be aware of that early check out time and enjoy this wonderful space!

    Noisy tenants

    Reviewed by: Floyd C. on

The rental unit was very nice and comfortable on the inside but in the evenings and morning, there is a tenant upstairs that you can hear every step they take. our first morning at around 7:30 am someone had the leaf blower going full blast. I will be more careful in selecting a unit next time in the Montrose area.
