  • Excellent Mountain Get Away

    5/5

we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The Cabin is easily accessed and provided some great accomodations. The only regret we have is we didn't have more time to enjoy the pool and fish in the lake. The owners were super and very helpful when we called with questions. When we plan our next get away, it will definitely include Bear Den.

  • Amazing stay!

    5/5

My stay at this location was anything short of amazing! There were 2couples in total which included myself and my fiancée So when we arrived atthe location, we did not expect to not be in the same cabin but we actuallyliked and appreciated the fact that we would have our own space and stillbe right there together! You only had to walk out the back door and up thesteps to the other part of the cabin. Which had its own bathroom, bedroom, kitchen area and deck. My sister even locked herself out of her cabin andthe owner came and opened the door with no complaints AND IT WAS AFTER12AM! Our stay was everything we thought it would be and more! I definitelyrecommend this rental if your looking to travel with another couple, stillwant your space but want to avoid a hotel stay. I will definitely belooking to stay here again the next time I visit!

  • If not for the lack of response ...

    3/5

The cabin was beautifully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked w/every type of pot, pan, utensil anyone would need. I learned all this AFTER the headache of getting in! Apparently, the locks on the front door were changed so the key in the lockbox would not open the front door (first attempt to contact property manager). We decided to go around back (to try to climb thru a window) and noticed there was a back door and fortunately the key worked on that door. Since we rented both the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms and was only provided the code to one lockbox, we attempted to use the key to open the upstairs bedroom but it didn't work. Since there was a separate lockbox, we the same code but that didn't work either and no other code was provided in the "instruction book" left in the main cabin (2nd attempt to contact the property manager). At this point, we are panicked because while the main cabin is a decent size, it would not comfortably accommodate all my guests. My husband decided to use his "paratrooper" skills and climbed up the side of the house to see if he could open the door to the balcony, and fortunately, that door was unlocked so we were able to unlock the upstairs bedroom. The problem however, was the key didn't work so anytime we left the premises, we had to leave the upstairs bedroom unlocked which was concerning because of our personal belongings in the room (3rd attempt to contact property owners). Our next issue was with the televisions, although there were cable boxes w/each television & remotes for Xfinity, none of the TV worked (4th attempt to contact the property owners). Overall, the property was very nice but should be thoroughly cleaned before each guest. When we attempted to open up the sofa bed upstairs we found gummie bears in cushions, and there was an empty soda bottle under the bed downstairs. There was dirt on the floor in the game room which I could overlook but the fact that there were chalk cues, a ball from the pool table, the "M" from the sign, as well as a soda bottle all on the floor was a clear indication the room was not cleaned. My final night at the cabin I attempted again to contact the property owners. All in all, I would have rated my stay higher if the property owners returned any of my calls or emails DURING MY STAY. By the way, my stay was from 7/19/19 - 7/21/19 and guess what?! On 7/22/19 I received an email w/the code for the room upstairs! I just l had to laugh.

    Manager's Response:

Shannon, the homeowner would like to pass along the following message:

"First of all, we want to say we are sorry that all of this has happened we take pride in our home. We are a mom and pop outfit and are trying to do the best we can. Unfortunately, we were out of town in the hills of Oklahoma and we only had reception by one tree. I tried to check my phone but it was very difficult. By the time I did get a voice mail it was on the last day of your stay. Second, cleanliness is also important to us. This is not an excuse but it is the truth. The cleaning agent was supposed to clean everything, but the day of the cleaning his wife had complications with her pregnancy and he did not clean as he should have. My wife usually cleans or checks all dwellings but she could not since she was with me. Third, I am not sure what happened with the keys. My assumption is that you may have used the key to the game room which is on the same chain. The locks have not been changed and the keys have not been moved. Fourth, the codes to both boxes were supposed to be in the material you received on the website from Evolve. The codes too have not been changed. Fifth, after we returned we discovered problems with the internet and TV. We called the internet provider and the wires in the box were fried. We then called the electrician and we had to have the box and wires replaced. It was unfortunate that all this had to happen all at the same time. We will be giving you a special offer in your email. "

We are also sorry you encountered these issues during your stay. In the future, we also encourage guests to reach out to us at Evolve if there are any issues or concerns. We have a team dedicated to helping travelers seven days a week! Best, the Evolve Team
