Loved the cabin. All the comforts of home. Except no TV. But that’s what getting away from it all is about. We did apriciate the WIFI. Close to most of the local attractions. We ride SxS so close to all the township roads. The sulpher smell from the water didn’t bother us. But, we are from a small country town so we are used to it. Just use bottled water for drinking. We are planning another trip in 2019 hope to be able to book the same place.

Our accommodations were very comfortable and spacious with all the comforts of home. The cabin was very clean and very close to everything we wanted to see. The only drawback was the sulphur smell from the hot water. It was overwhelming at times so much that we weren't sure that we wanted to use the shower. If it were not for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

The stay was amazing! The cabin is really cute and comfortable! The bed in the master bedroom needs to be replaced! It is not comfortable at all! Makes a lot of noise every time someone rolls over! Also, the smell of sulfur in the water is really hard to get past! I would not drink it at all! Place will need some updating as it looked like some things had seen better days this year as compared to when we stayed last year!

Cabin was very nice and peaceful. I really wish it would of had chairs on the front porch to sit on, (what good is a front porch if there is no where to sit?) air conditioning in the bedrooms, (it was too warm in the bedrooms and no way to cool them down) and a TV. Other than those 3 things, the cabin had everything that you will need for your vacation. We saw elk in the yard 3 of the 5 morning that we were there.

Our First night we lost power due to a large storm. There were plenty of flashlights and batteries at the cabin to get us by. The cabin is well kept and beautiful. The only reason I took off one star was due to the outside fire pit. It being I. The back of the property was a bit of a pain. It felt like there was plenty of room I. The front where the views where and also the door to enter the cabin. Every time we needed to go inside we had to walk around cars and the whole house to get there when up front the kids could have played more, gone in and out without a parent going with them and dragging out tons of food and drinks wouldn?t have been as difficult.

This cabin is perfect. It has everything you could possibly need to cook meals and have the comforts of home. We saw deer, opossums, and bunnies in the yard. There was plenty of evidence that elk had been there but we didn't see any in the development. BUT, there were lots about half a mile away and at the visitor center! We had an amazing time and took hundreds of pictures of these beautiful creatures. They were very close and didn't seem bothered by people much at all. There are a few gift shops nearby, the visitors center and plenty of time to just relax at the cabin or go for walks. We think that this is probably one of the best places to stay in Benezette. Our group of 6 chose the Elk Stone Lodge for our annual Thanksgiving weekend trip to the PA Wilds. Slightly more expensive than we are used to, but we decided to splurge this trip. The cabin was beautiful, clean, and modern. Everything was new and in great condition. The kitchen was great, complete with dishwasher, and the couches in the living room were beyond comfortable. We loved the gas fireplace. The rustic wooden bunk beds were great. Outside, the porch was nice for the days it rained. One downside is that the property of the cabin is not very scenic; we're used to be surrounded by tall pines up in the Wilds. The property is pretty much barren of trees and you can see the neighbors. I'd suggest planting some trees if possible. However the neighbors are not too close. The fire pit was behind the cabin but we moved it out front to get some space between us and the closest neighbor in the rear. Remember to bring your own camp chairs! The mountaintop location is perfect for stargazing, though it was overcast for us. The surrounding area is beautiful and full of Elk. If you don't see any at the cabin (we didn't, but plenty of droppings), definitely check out the vista view at the Winslow Hill viewing area right up the road, as well as the new Elk Country visitor center where you can see them up close. Benezette winery was also a nice place to stop by. If we ever decide to brave the 5 hour drive back to Elk Country, I'd certainly go back to the Elk Stone Lodge!

    Very cozy, comfy, & quiet

The cabin was very cozy and everything was pretty much brand new. We really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor fires throughout our stay. All of the furniture was extremely comfortable and we spent a great deal of time just hanging out, cooking, eating, and playing games. Unfortunately, we did not see any elk on the property, but we did see them when we traveled down towards the visitors center (which was closed during our stay). There is not much to do around the area (especially in the winter) so be prepared to have a very low key stay, which is exactly what we wanted! :) This cabin was perfect for 6 people, but if we would've had more, I think it would've been too crowded, unless they were small children.

If you decide to rent this cabin, you will need to purchase your own wood for the outdoor fire pit, as there is no wood provided for you. There is an older gentleman who sells wood for a very reasonable price down by the closest gas station. This information was not left for us and we had to text the owner to ask. Also, make sure to bring your own camping chairs to enjoy the fire!!

In the pictures, it looks like the cabin is in the middle of no where with no close neighbors. However, there are neighbors pretty close, which was a little disappointing for us as it's not what we were expecting. There are aren't many trees on the property and the cabin is not located in the "woods." However, if you walk down the road a little bit, you can walk along walking trails in the "real woods."

You will also need to take all of the garbage accumulated during your entire stay home with you, as there is no dumpster on the property to leave it behind. This information was not left for us upon check in. We had so many garbage bags, we almost couldn't fit them in the cars. We had to fully unpack two whole cars and repack them to fit all of our garbage bags & luggage. We also ended up checking out late (due to attempting to fit all of the garbage bags in addition to waking up a little too late) which caused us to pay an additional $50, so make sure you check out on time!

Manager's Response: "Thanks for sharing your review Emily. The home owner would like to thank you for feedback as it was extremely valuable in helping improve the experience and stay at this property. The welcome book does mention that those who use the outdoor fire ring will need to supply their own firewood and camp chairs. It also mentions that there is no need to empty the trash cans. With that said, the home owner does apologize as this information could've been stated more clearly in the welcome book. As a result, they have made changes to the instructions to clarify these points. The welcome book has been updated to specify that trash bags can remain at check out, as well as instructions to access the local dumpster if a guest desires so during their stay. Finally, the home owner also is open to accommodating custom check in / check out times for future travelers! Again, thank you so much for your review Emily and we hope to see you again in the near future!" -The Evolve Team

The Log Cabin offered all the comforts of home with the added benefit of being away from the city and work obligations. Immaculately clean, new, efficient, essentially sound proof, even from room to room. For 6 adult family members there was more than enough space. The Elk provided a captivating experience and they were all around the cabin area without having to drive to the very close Visitor Center. We will definitely be back!

This cabin is beautiful and situated perfectly in the middle of the Elk action! The fireplace kept us cozy during an unseasonably cold and snowy weekend! The Bull Elk were still bugling and lots of cows and Bulls travelled right past the cabin which was a thrill for all of us adults and kids alike!

We visited the Elk Visitor Center a few times for activities as well as the other viewing areas that are in close proximity to the cabin.

We walked a few trails as well and saw plenty of elk grazing! Fabulous time! Will definitely be planning a trip back!

A HUGE thank you to the owners who went out of their way to make our stay a great one!

Property was excellent! It was spotless, the large bedrooms are well equipped with superior bedding & full bath has an abundant supply of fresh clean towels. We enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen each morning for our breakfast & we were able to check the weather & share with family & friends during our stay with the fast WiFi connection. The open floor plan with comfortable reclining couches, beautiful decor & gas fire place was a real comfort for me, my husband and the couple that were our guests after spending a full day of site seeing, shopping & visiting the local wineries. We ate our dinner each night at the local hotel where the food was excellent & prices were great. The location was perfect, so close to the visitor's center & new viewing areas where we saw an abundance of bull elk & cows. The bulls were in full rut & we even got to witness a challenge fight between two bulls! Yet still the most awesome thing at the cabin happened on Sunday morning as we rose early for our departure, I started out the door at 7 am and was staring straight into the face of a huge bull elk and his harem of 9 cows! They made their way all around our yard then crossed the road to the home across from us, all the while they hardley even noticing we were watching. I would recommend the wonderful experience of this super rental with its majestic veiws to anyone whom loves the outdoors & LOTS of comfortable surroundings at the end of the day! The whole experience was undoubtedly the best weekend trip ever!

My friends and myself just stayed at this cabin in Benezette. Absolutely beautiful and welcoming. Feels exactly like staying at home, or even better! The elk were roaming just a mile away from the cabin and you can hear them bugling at night. Everything is so close to the cabin it makes this cabin a very convenient stay. I would absolutely come back!

This three bedroom cabin is beautiful. New, clean, tastefully decorated and in a great location. The beds were comfortable and it was wonderful that linens, towels, blankets and pillows were provided. Not having to pack all of those extra items really helped make this an easy getaway. The cabin is located within a mile of the Elk County Visitor's Center where our families had a great time learning, exploring, and watching the large herds of elk feed. We even saw elk wandering through the property near the cabin. If you enjoy dark skies and stars, you'll love spending evenings outside by the fire pit. You'll also be able to hear elk bugle throughout the night. This is the ideal retreat for anyone looking to spend time away without sacrificing all of the comforts of home.

This is a great cabin in a great area! The back and front yards were full of elk during our first evening. The cabin itself is meticulous and well stocked. There is a lot of attention to details. We didn't forget much, but the few things that we did forget were already in the cabin. Neighbors are quite and well spaced out for privacy. We used the cabin to have a peaceful retreat, and we plan on returning in the future.
