  • Cute and Cozy Cabin

    5/5

My friends and I found this property very cute and comfortable. Mike was very communicative with us and took the extra steps to make sure it felt like home. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quite spot surrounded by woods. We all loved it!!

  • Perfect cabin getaway

    5/5

This place is absolutely perfect for a break from the craziness of life. You are secluded enough but not so far away from stores and places to visit. It was so peaceful and the kids loved all the room to run, play, dog and explore. The inside of the cabin looked just as it was advertised and the kids LOVED the loft. It was perfect for the four of us. We would definitely recommend to others who want to get away for a little bit. I would highly recommend bringing dirt bikes or 4 wheelers if you have them as there are tons of tracks around the cabin.

  • Great cabin in the woods!

    5/5

This cozy cabin was just what we were looking for. The host, Mike, was really lovely and we had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked, and it would be a great place for kids to bike around a bit (we didn't bring bikes but we should have!). The dirt roads are very quiet. It's about an hour to Petoskey or Charlevoix, a great starting point for hiking and visiting Lake Michigan. Our kids (7&9) absolutely loved the loft - they felt like they had their own fort in the cabin, and they engaged in a lot of imaginary play.We had no problem getting into the area in our Mazda3 (front-wheel drive). I'd recommend accessing the area via Boardman River Road and Wildwood rather than Shippy (the way Google kept telling us to go) since it's a better dirt road. The front porch was a relaxing place for coffee and reading, and there were hardly any mosquitoes (at least this year). All in all, a great stay, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a north woods getaway.

  • Just what we were looking for!

    5/5

This cozy cabin in the woods was just the family getaway we were looking for. Our kids (7&9) enjoyed the loft, which felt like a fort to them. The fully-stocked kitchen saw several pancake mornings, and the location felt remote without being too far from everything (8 miles from the grocery store, an hour to Petoskey or Charlevoix).

Getting there via Boardman River Rd and Wildwood was the better way - Google wanted to send us on Shippy, which is narrow and not in as good a condition. Our Mazda3 (front-wheel drive) had no problems navigating the dirt roads.

We didn't need the window AC as the trees and open windows kept the cabin cool.

Our host, Mike, was really lovely and made sure we had everything we needed.

  • Great get away

    5/5

This place was perfect for our family vacation. It was secluded but still close to stores. It was so peaceful, with a lot to do outside including a fire pit and trails through the woods to hike. My kids loved the loft and the spiral staircase. It was perfect for us and we hope to make a trip back up again soon.
