  House needs some updates, carpeting in bedrooms, bathroom with just walk in shower, no tub needed. Needs brighter kitchen cabinets. Needs new rug in living room, not the shag type that’s currently there. Location and neighbors were great.

• Could've Been Better...

  From the outside the house looked very charming. Quiet street and great location a block away from the beach. Parking out front was difficult but spots could be found on the surrounding streets as a parking pass was provided for any metered spot, which was helpful. Screen door was nice to let some light in and it was needed since the living room blinds are broken and unable to be opened. A few of the blinds on front door are also broke. Bathroom door doesn't stay closed. House was not clean. Old dog bone under couch. Wrappers under bed. Broken knobs on dressers. Disorganized cabinets. Not a private patio as it is open to the street and neighbors. You can hear the people walking upstairs but they do seem to be quiet in the early AM and late PM. White noise machine and/or leaving the TV on did help. Small, inexpensive improvements could really spruce up the place. Paint. New faucets. New comforters and pillows.Size and location of the place is perfect for 2 with a child or dog and the couch and TV in the living room are nice. With a deep cleaning and small improvements, the place would be worth returning to.

• Great, quiet location

  There are some great things about this rental and a few less great things.

  1. BIGGEST PRO: One block from an amazing, super wide, beautiful, clean beach. Rental comes with parking pass at any meter in Wildwood CREST (not everywhere), so parking near location was easy.

  CON: This part of the beach is NOT supposed to allow dogs, so if you are renting because of the "pet friendly" allowance, know that. We DID take our medium-sized dog for early morning walks on the almost empty beach where there were a FEW other dogs, but we did hear that in the past beach patrol would have kicked us off the beach. DOG BEACH is a ten minute drive away off the Boardwalk with a DOG PARK (although dogs are not allowed on the Boardwalk).

  2. PRO: Private space (as compared to hotel room) with private entrance; very quiet; no street noise;

  CON: Located at the back of two level house so no view. Outside "patio" is just a table and chairs alongside the house. Also, no outside shower or hose, which would be useful for dogs/people alike. The entrance to the second floor is above this unit so you will occasionally hear walking or chairs scraping. You may hear sounds from neighboring home, though.

  3. PRO: Walking distance to the bay side (15-20 minutes) and Sunset Park (where you will meet other dogs and friendly people). Also walking distance to several restaurants and breakfast places. NOT the center of activity, though, which was fine with us. You'll need to drive to most other activities and restaurants.

  4. PRO: Relatively well-equipped kitchen and has washing machine/dryer. Mysteriously few lids for pots and pans. Good TV.

  CON: The bathroom is dated and small. The bed is only a creaky double. The second room has a twin with a second twin tucked beneath it (trundle). Mattresses and pillows are not great and are covered (understandably) with plastic, so definitely bring your own cloth mattress pads/covers as well as your own sheets (maybe also pillows?) and towels.

  Overall--had a lovely time for our week there.

There is an outdoor shower and hose, not sure how that was missed, but we are sorry to hear that it was overlooked. It definitely would've made for easier clean-off post-beach walks! Yes, we go the extra step and keep pillows and mattresses covered during this pandemic, especially with how busy our rental has been, we want everyone as safe as possible!"
