The cabin was great! Clean, well appointed and the location was awesome for both being secluded and quiet but also being able to get to the hiking trails quickly. The welcome book also had a ton of great information. We will be back!

    Refreshing, Relaxing and Perfect

Our second stay at the Cabins of Birch Hollow and the first time at Mountain Spirit. We - wife, daughter, mom and I - were very happy to have two bathrooms but the best part was the porch. We would often sit on the front porch not even talking just listening to nature chatter around us. Living in the fast-paced world it was the short recharge that we needed to keep pushing forward every day.

I would highly recommend this cabin.

    Mountain Spirit cabin!!

    Reviewed by: on

We were looking for a cabin with some privacy. This cabin knocked it out of the park!! The Cabins in Birch Hollow is a great place to stay. You are close to plenty of things to do. If you love outside adventures you will not be disappointed. We rented Mountain Spirit for a week. It does say sleeps 6 but 4 is a better idea. For 2 nights we had 6 adults and it was a bit crowded. The hot tub was amazing! I do wish the hot tub was turned around. The best seats face the woods behind the cabin, the view is much better the other way. The drive up can be a bit scary but so worth it. Our black labrador loved the place also! It was nice to be able to take him on vacation with us. We wanted to walk the trails around the cabins but they really needed mowed. We hope to return and maybe try a different cabin next time.

    Fantastic Getaway

We loved this cabin. The seclusion is wonderful but still close enough to everything we wanted to do. Had some hot tub issues but they worked to resolve it quickly. They checked in with us to see if we needed anything. Very nice place to stay we plan to be back!!! Internet was fast enough for us to stream from our Roku as well for the rainy days.

    Great getaway

WOW!!! What a VIEW and in the middle of no where yet close to some great hiking. Great place for pets, if visiting in spring or winter bring rags to wipe mud off paws. Hot tub was awesome, I would also bring towels for the hot tub. We have 4 adults and only 6 towels but with the washer/dryer we did a lot of laundry. Our stay was in in the off season - over New Years, thankfully we brought food for all three meals, not much in the area that offered sit down meals. Oh - bring charcoal, there is a grill but it is not gas. We will be returning to location, not soon enough but SOON!

My only wish is that it had a wood-burning fireplace instead of a gas one. But, other than that, it was good. Kitchen was well enough supplied for holiday meals prep, etc.

Cabin was great fun. Very private location and all you could ask for in a getaway. Easy to get to amazing hiking like Red River Gorge. Only downside is the process was very complicated. You book through VRBO then a 3rd party steps in to manage. It took 2 calls to reserve and book the cabin plus another two calls with the host to go over access and instructions. Shouldn?t be that complicated with such a simple transaction.
