  We had a comfortable stay. Could have used a bigger clearer sign at entrance - but house was right there and as it was in the picture. Plenty of room to park multiple cars and plenty of space inside. We were a little concerned about no AC but temp went down to 65 at night and was quite comfortable. Cannot drink from the tap - this was a surprise (was it noted on listing?) but host provided bottled water so it was not an issue - just a surprise. We were disappointed that we did not meet the dogs! Would stay again.

  Property was comfortable and as advertised. Great location between Volcano NP and Kona area. Bottled drinking water was provided as the tap water not for drinking which was a surprise - but not a problem. We were a little concerned about no AC - but temperature was 65 in the morning and we were pulling on the covers. So we did not miss the AC. Would have appreciated a better sign at the road, but once we pulled in it was obvious we were at the right place. Street was right at the mile marker on the main road so easy to find. Would stay again.

• Just what we were looking for

  We wanted a house outside the hustle and bustle of Kona, with easy access to both sides of the island, and this was it! The house was quite spacious for our party of 6, and had everything you could need to feel like you were at home (except a blow dryer). It’s tucked away and surrounded by tons of tropical foliage, fruit trees, and a large grassy area to play in. In the evening the coqui frogs sing you melodic tunes. It’s the perfect place to unwind and enjoy all The Big Island has to see/do. House is close to Punalu’u bake shop, southpoint, and black sand beach, and again a perfect halfway point between the two sides of the island.We loved our stay here!

• Little home in paradise

  Truly incredible location, elevation is high enough that it rains every night and cools down. You can hear frogs sing every night. Lizards are easy to be found. The vegetation is incredible. Hosts are fantastic. They will bring you fruit that is in season and help you with anything. The home is on water catchment which helped make our skin super soft in a matter of days. The home is not meant for luxury but they have priced it well.

• Quiet Cabin

  We just loved this place. Just large enough for our family of four to have some space after a day out. Kitchen is small but fine for making meals while traveling. Grocery store not too far away and coffee shops too. (I am hooked on cappuccinos in the morning.). Hot water was better in evening than morning and internet was spotty. What we loved most was the quiet location and feeling of privacy. The frogs sang every night - wonderful. We were easily able to explore the whole south side of the island from this location. Shelly provided fresh fruit from the property and was a lovely hostess.
