    Perfect Location

We had a mixture of needs due to the ranges of our ages. This house met all of our needs. It was a very short trip to the hiking trails during the day and close to the casino for the adults during the night. Our family brought food to cook for all of our meals and the kitchen had all the necessary supplies. Overall, great experience!

    Not my preference

I stay in the mountains yearly at least for an entire week. We arrived to find spider webs all over the outside lights, just seemed unkept. Upon entering the house, there were spider webs hanging from the ceiling fans, the light fixtures and the ceilings in places all over the house. The kitchen is far from being a “good” stocked kitchen. 1 pot, 1sauce pan and 1 frying pan. We opened the utensils drawer only to find dried food on several of them. We had to wash everything before we could use it. The house shook all over when others were walking around in the house. The location looked questionable. I do not see myself or my family staying in this residence again. It is to far away from Maggie Valley/Waynesville where everything was going on. We had to drive 35+ minutes for the apple festival, craft shows etc. just very inconvenient and not clean enough for us.

    Hot Mess

    Reviewed by: Ann C. on

    Comment:

I realize that the property was not newly built as indicated on the add online when I arrived Thursday afternoon. The amount of spider webs inside and outside the property was astronomical. There were loose boards on the steps leading up to the entry door. Once inside I found the coffee pot dirty, towels in the dryer, dead bugs in the window seal. The floors had a layer of dirt that had to be cleaned up. Went to use the vacuum and had to remove the clogged filter and container. Then to top it off the house was warm upon arrival. Went to turn the a/c down and nothing happened. Thank God we were in the mountains where the temperature dropped so it was bearable threw the night. The next day when we returned from brunch the temp had shot up inside . So I contacted the property manager and after about 3 hours the a/c man showed up. Who then told me it was my fault the unit was not cooling. That made me feel great!!! Absolutely not!!!! When I tried to ask about who cleaned the unit I was told by the property manager it was her and her crew and that it was clean. I asked if she wanted photos and she said no. But I sent them anyway. Not a I'm sorry.... nothing. The area was pretty and I really expected a lot more as far as cleanliness. In the ad it states that there is tubes to use in the creek. There was alright... flat! Sorry on vacation I don't take a air hose. So no creek adventure for us. The outside chairs had not been cleaned in years it seems. But I guess I should assume on vacation you have to clean everything before you actually get to start that vacation!!! Not me for sure!!!

The home was beautiful and being on the river was GREAT!! The beds were comfortable, there was lots of space for 5 adults and 2 dogs, and it was nice having a small area fenced in for our dogs. The boys had a great time fishing in the back yard and caught more then a meals worth of trout. They had more fun fishing in the backyard then anywhere else in the area. The house was out of town on a quiet road, yet close enough to town if we needed anything. PLUS...there are so many things to do in area towns. My family started asking to return before we even left.

House dirty upon arrival. Hair and dust abundant. Poop on toilet seat. Stinky bedding still in washer. Great location for our family and lovely setting next to river. NOT new as stated. Could be great with a few enhancements and new cleaning crew. Would stay here again when this is addressed.

This house is in a great location. There were issues with poor housekeeping and cleaning and a toilet that wouldn't flush. Once these were mostly resolved, we were able to enjoy the house.

The property was clean and perfect for our family that gathered for graduation weekend. There was plenty of space for us and the location is great for events at WCU. If you have issues with stairs this may not work for you (we had older relatives with us but they still can handle stairs), but otherwise this was a great find!
