End the night on a sweet note with s'mores by the outdoor fire pit, perched just above the river to provide a view of the jagged bluff across the way - teeming with wildlife like bald eagles, blue herons, osprey, mink, river otters, and more.

When tired eyes call you to rest, retire inside for a peaceful night on a full bed in either bedroom, while the kiddos doze off on the twin beds in the living room.

    Easy access to river

    Reviewed by: Preston L. on

Some friends and I enjoyed staying here for a weekend of fishing. The location was very convenient for us being that there is a nice boat ramp just down the road. The cabin was very comfortable and well equipped and the fire ring overlooking the river was nice. Parking was perfect for 2 trucks with small boats and even though it sits on a road with neighbors there was little to no traffic and our evenings were very quiet.

Great place to stay for fishing trip

    Reviewed by: Jacob W. on

This is a great property that would be perfect in the summertime when water levels are down and you are able to safely wade the river near the property. Couple things that could improve an already great experience: better TV in the living room (the current TV is quite old with a dim picture), periodic spraying for pests (killed a few HUGE spiders in the cabin), better furniture for the living room (couch was old and not that comfortable). Other than those few minor things, this is a great place to stay to experience the White River and all that it has to offer.

    Manager's Response:
Jacob, thank you for your review. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:

"Thanks for staying with us and sharing your feedback. Our property is sprayed routinely for insects, but this is Arkansas and we are vigilant about inspecting all aspects of the cabin, especially in sleeping areas.

The new TV has been delivered and will be installed for our next bookings. The couch and furniture do need to be replaced in the living area. We’re currently working on that. Thank you again for helping us to improve!"

Nice Fishing Cabin - If the Power Stays On

    Reviewed by: Anonymous on

First the pluses: The kitchen appliances are new. The dining area is adequate for up to four people. Kitchen implements are adequate, but simple. The kitchen sink needs a new faucet. The bedrooms are ok; mattresses clean and supportive. The bathroom is just the basics but works well.Like a lot of people, we spent the day on the river, fishing. Wanting to watch television for evening relaxation proved problematical. Our first night, the power went out three times. Each power failure meant a ten-minute wait for the satellite system to reboot. The third power failure caused the audio system of the television to stop working.I called the property contact person the next day. I described the fact that all of the power failures had the same profile: The power would go off for about 1 - 2 seconds and come back on. He said that he would go directly to the house and check on the problems. He sent me a text message later in the day informing me that the television problem was fixed - no mention of the power failures. The power went out twice the second evening, three times the third evening, and four times the fourth evening of our stay.Absent the power problems, I would give Hog's Landing a solid four-and-a-half stars for a rating. As it is at present, it's straining to get two. We've been coming to the White River for thirty years and will take this property off of our list.

    Manager's Response:
We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the overall comfort of this home, however, we're sorry to hear that there was an issue with the power during your stay. The homeowner reached out to the electric company and was informed that they were conducting maintenance throughout the city, which explains the issues you had with the power. We're confident that this was an isolated incident and that future travelers will not share your experience. We wish you all the best in your future travels. Best, the Evolve Team

    White River cabin

    Reviewed by: Gary G. on

Sitting on porch consisted of pile of wooden pallets covered with a piece of plywood and a walmart cushion. Loveseat in garage is completely worn out. sitting in it sinks you to the floor. The red plastic chairs ( in picture) are not comfortable and two are broken. The charcoal grill will literally fall apart if the wind blows. Dirty paper plates and cups were left in cabinets with dishes. Air conditioner and stove and refridgerator worked perfectly. Family room is a garage with no windows, and no lamps. Kitchen is sparse. five plates, three cereal bowls, two coffee mugs, one cup. Extremely cheap walmart forks and spoons, 9 ",7" & ,5" pan, 3 baking sheets. No slotted spoon or serving spoon of any description. One 1 quart pot, 1- 2 quart pot, one bowl. It would be a challenge at best to provide any decent meal for more than two or three people. This property needs to be listed as just a fish camp to sleep in. It is not a comfortable place to relax . Access to the river is deep and dangerous.

    Trout trip with military son.

    Reviewed by: Wanda P. on

Location and scenery are great. I think our ladies would enjoy this as well in the fall when the mosquistoes are a little less active. The property was very clean and not your typical fishing cabin. Cuddos to the landlord. We only had two things that felt could be improved on. One was the beds. Being older, the soft beds make for a sore back in the morning but understandable you can't please everyone on mastress style. #2 was from my son. He's a captain in the army and found the flag bundled up in the corner. His comment was that he'd like to see the flag stored properly so as to not touch the ground. Petty I know but he's full military. Yes, we will definitely come back. Enjoyable and quite location for some quite time.

We loved our stay at Hog's Landing and hope to go back! It has a really big private yard where it was nice to relax while looking at the beautiful view. The cabin is right on the river for easy access for fishing. It is also close to several public access fishing areas. The property was clean and well kept. You can prepare meals at the cabin with a full kitchen and an outdoor grill or go out to eat at several nearby restaurants. Highly recommended!

Best Locality on the White River

    Reviewed by: Todd C. on

First let me say this is the best positioned cabin on the White river with more private space than you can practice your casting on . Huge yard with walk- on access to the narrows right from the private backyard. I've been staying here for years but recently this place was purchased and the new owners have made drastic improvements (not that it needed any as I would not have stayed) to the interior and exterior. If you need tranquility and privacy, look no further than this quaint and very clean cabin. Accommodations are excellent inside with two private bedrooms and extra beds in the additional TV/sitting room. Plenty of indoor space to rig up fly rods and store tackle, waders, coolers etc. If you can find availability here, do not pass this one up.
