We enjoyed our stay and would like to make a couple of suggestions: in your listing you might want to mention that there are stairs to downstairs bedrooms; downstairs bathroom needs at least two more towel racks and also something to serve as a vanity for incidentals.

We really enjoyed our stay at 1550 Mesa. The house is large and well appointed. It is located a short 5 min walk from the Broadmoor Hotel property and we could easily walk to the Broadmoor restaurants and amenities. It is also a short 10 min drive to downtown Colorado Springs and a short drive to many nice hikes and day activities.

Perfect location and walking distance to the Broadmoor. Quiet, Clean, Spacious. Beautiful home with Deer literally in the back yard. I would definitely book this home again and would highly recommend it. (my only "very small" complaint was a relative lack of power outlets... and 3 prong outlets... but this is an older home). Again, Overall, a very nice home very close to hiking trails and mountain bike trails right up against the mountains.

After a busy few days in Estes Park we traveled down to Colorado Springs. When we walked in we felt we were home. So beautiful and comfortable and room for all of us to have some space and plenty of family time. Larry and Susan were great hosts. Seeing a mama bear and 2 cubs scamper along the back yard and a deer grazing in the front yard were quite surprising to us city folks!

Beautiful, roomy house with lots of space for our family to spread out.

    Reviewed by: Nancy C. on

We loved the house! It was well-equipped and very comfortable. It is much bigger than it looks from the outside, so much so that I got lost inside in the first day we were there! The house is beautifully furnished and has lots of conveniences and luxuries, such as a washer and dryer with detergent provided, a well-equipped kitchen, a large gas grill on the deck, whirlpool tub in the master bedroom, multiple televisions with a varied cable package, and two staircases to the bedrooms in the lower level, so that we could go up and down without disturbing the person sleeping in the "pass-through room". The house was plenty big for our eight family members, with plenty of beds and areas for relaxing. We loved the large deck. There were lots of tables and chairs available for eating inside and out. The neighborhood was beautiful and we enjoyed strolling around the neighborhood in general and on the grounds of the nearby Broadmoor Hotel. The house was close to the zoo and also great hiking trails. Larry and Susan, the caretakers, were responsive to our questions and suggestions. One suggestions was that the bathroom downstairs adjoining the bedroom with two queen beds is in need to more towel racks and shelves. There was only one towel rack for a bathroom being used by four people. That bedroom also needs a dresser or shelf (or two), as there is really very little room for spreading out suitcases. Overall, our experience was great and we would wholeheartedly recommend this house!

This home is very charming! Our entire party loved the home, property and location. We attended the Air Force Graduation of one of our family member's son. It was prefect for our group of 8. The porches were wonderful to enjoy the mornings, as well as the nights. We used the grill several times while there and cooked many meals in the kitchen. There is everything you need for preparing for a large group. The beds were comfortable and the property was rich with history. Susan and Larry live next door in the carriage house and are your contacts for the property. They are wonderful kind people. They make you feel very welcome right away. They came over with a couple of minor things we needed help with and fixed it right away. We would all stay here again. It made a trip 100% perfect!

The location of the home is ideal to the Broadmoor. We attended a conference in the West conference center. From this house it was less of a walk than for those who came across the bridge from the main portion of the Broadmoor. The house is so comfortable and homey with a great deck and several gathering areas. 3 minute drive to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and nice neighborhoods for a morning walk. We loved listening to the bells announcing the time of day and saw deer in the yard every day that we were there. We will be back!

Spent an extended weekend with two other couples. The house was large enough to accommodate everyone. The back deck worked well for evening cocktails, kitchen was well equipped, and we found ourselves at the end of the evening in the game room playing board games. Beds were very comfortable.
Easily walked to the Broadmoor for golf, dinner and cocktails at the Golden Bee (a must). Parks and trails were very close. The only item we had to take care of was the gas fireplace flame needed a little adjustment. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

It has all the charm of a well taken care of family home. Plenty of room for family meals, finding a quite space to read a book, or spending time outside on any number of inviting spaces. Being greeted upon arrival was a nice touch. Our family is planning to stay here again next year.
