    Great getaway!

We had a wonderful time at this little cabin, which we rented for a long weekend. It feels very secluded but Bowling Green is just a short drive away. One day when we didn't feel like going anywhere we launched the kayak and that was fun. I'd never paddled a kayak before, and if I can do it anyone can. The cabin had plenty of cooking supplies, paper towels, trash bags and the like. We didn't cook much but made a pizza one night, made omelets, and reheated leftovers a few times. Bring good walking or tennis shoes if you plan to look around by the creek. The bathtub upstairs is a great place to soak and read a book! The owner lives in a house up the hill from the rental cabin but we had plenty of privacy. We would recommend the Lost River Cave tour in BG, it was very interesting and the cool underground felt awesome on the muggy day we visited. While we were in town we ate at Mariah's and would recommend it, the food was delicious. For down home country cooking, Dumplins in Scottsville has prices you won't believe. Two of us had dinner for under fifteen dollars, which doesn't happen often anymore. Overall it was a relaxing and fun weekend and we would absolutely rent this location again.

This is a wonderful place to stay. The downstairs is a bit cold for this time of year (November). It didn't warm up very well. But the upstairs was toasty warm and very comfortable with an awesome view! I loved sitting but the window and watching the lazy river floating by and drinking my coffee in the morning. We enjoyed a peaceful scenic walk along the path beside the river. They had canoes and kayaks and all the great to go with them as well as all the fishing gear you could want. The host and hostess were very friendly and hospitable. They even had a nice hot cup of fresh coffee ready when we arrived. We felt totally safe and at home in this cozy cabin. If you want to make good use of the downstairs you may want to wait till warmer weather but if you want just the upstairs this is the perfect place for you even in the colder weather.

You couldn't ask for a better place to stay. Beautiful views and being by the creek is fantastic. This cabin offers the best of everything, privacy and proximity to all the attractions of Bowling Green. We stayed a week and enjoyed every second. The Verizon cell phone service was excellent as well as the house internet. Probably the best part of the stay was the hospitality of the owners. I can't say enough good things about their kindness. We definitely hope to visit again.

Going somewhere and not having access to internet or cell phone service is staggering at first, but it is such a blessing after a while. The river has fish in it that are pretty easy to catch. The views and the wildlife in the area are fun to watch for. We saw several deer, an alligator gar, a beaver or otter (tail looked too small for a beaver), a turkey, and I am sure there's more. The house itself is very nice, but it's hard to stay in there. The stuff to do outside pulls you out there, and visiting the different stuff to do in the area is very inviting for a tourist. The homeowner himself is such a great guy. I would love to come see him and stay here again in the future.
