    I had high hopes

Many have reviewed this property stating the random dogs that showed up were friendly and a welcome sight. Not in our case.

I paid the additional pet fee (not initially quoted by Homeaway and should be a deposit like everywhere else in America) when I should have been offered money in exchange for dealing with the 2 dogs that did nothing but try and eat our food when we were outside and bit at my dog every time we let him out to do his business. Not a welcome addition to our stay at all. We won't be back for that reason!!

With regard to the remainder of our stay, it was a lot like your basic state park cabin on a larger scale. There were plenty of toiletries and towels and access to a washer/dryer which is nice. And I suppose the bottle of wine was a nice touch (which I needed to relax against the howling of the neighbors hound).

Concrete slab floor felt very rustic but took on moisture during the night near the doors. And for such a new place, I was surprised how poorly some of the fixtures were installed. The master bath spigot was loose and the oven door came almost completely off its hinge the first time we used it. I actually did the repair work myself.

Use the hot tub! You'll need it!

    Manager's Response:
Rana, we're glad you enjoyed the hot tub and other amenities offered in this secluded Broken Bow cabin as well as the small touches which welcomed you - the homeowners take pride in making their guests feel at home. We're sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations, however. The owners confirm that they talked to you about the oven door, but wish you would have communicated that this was more of an inconvenience than you let on so they could make things right. They nonetheless, thank you for fixing the oven door. Additionally, the owners and their builder located the loose fixture and promptly tightened it. They are proud of their cabin's new construction, but with new construction comes with its own set of challenges and they appreciate their guests' understanding while things get "dialed in." They also expressed that the concrete floors are specially treated to prevent sweating and are confident that any moisture present is going to be isolated to small areas due to prolonged contact in Oklahoma's admittedly humid climate. The owners regret if outside dogs interfered with your vacation and caused you to feel uneasy. They confirm that dogs in the area have grown accustomed to people feeding and petting them. They are currently working with their local contacts to see what can be done to prevent negative interactions between dogs and guests. These owners truly go above and beyond for their guests as other reviews mention, and we are confident that future guests will have exceptional stays! Best, the Evolve Team

Last minute rental for a girls weekend getaway. None of us have ever been to the area. The house was perfect! They left the lights on for when we arrived, a bottle of wine in the fridge and snacks on the bar. Had everything we needed and could tell they paid attention to detail. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area (which is really great as well)!

We were disappointed that the hot tub had some gunk floating around in it and we were not comfortable getting in it. That's one of the main reasons we chose this property. The neighbors had friendly dogs, our kids enjoyed playing with them. It was overall an enjoyable experience and we would come back again and recommend to others.

Had a great girls trip thanks to this cute place. Everything was perfect aside from the ants we found on the kitchen counter. I don't know if the owner is aware, they were in the back corner to the left of the sink. Other than that, the place was awesome. Super cute.

We stayed the weekend at this cabin. The cabin itself was spacious and had everything we needed. Most of the activities we did we’re in Hotchatown, 20-30 min away from the cabin. The keyless entry made coming and going easy. The security cameras gave us piece of mind, since we were all women. There was a dog that came into the yard from next door, the dog was harmless and sweet. The road to the cabin was a dirt road, made it seem a little dangerous when another car was coming down. Overall we loved staying here, it was absolutely perfect for our needs.

We stayed in this cabin for our all girls weekend getaway, and it was a great experience. Although, the neighbors do NOT keep there dogs at their own house! We had a little trouble with the dogs coming over and getting into our stuff, and begging us for food, and bothering us while trying to grill out. We contacted the contact person for the cabin, and they resolved the problem right away! I would recommend this cabin to anyone having a getaway!! Very cute and comfy stay!!
