Nice place to stay. Home is older, but is comfortable and has an amazing view. Lots to do in the area.

Beautiful location, with nice people at the front desk who returned the laptop cord I accidentally left. We enjoyed bird watching in the mornings, and cooking dinner in the evenings. Overall a nice place to stay over hotels.

    Maintenance deferred

The cottage needs a lot of repairs due to wood rot, painting, lots of gopher holes in the back yard. The carpets also need cleaning. Our feet were black after walking around barefoot for a short period of time inside the cottage.

Great view and friendly staff, but lack luster accommodations

The view is wonderful and it is right on the coast. Unfortunately this property is in the middle of a trailer park and sandwiched between units. The house definitely needs updates. The second bedroom smelled like mold and mildew. There was mold in the bathroom window and the “ jacuzzi tub” had hundreds of cracks in it and two areas that while showering you felt like you were going to fall thru the floor. The towels and blankets had holes and stains. My husband found two hairs in the bed before we even laid down. We are hardcore fisher-people and loved the location, but for the price one definitely would expect more.

    Manager's Response:
Hi Christine, We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the cottage's beautiful waterfront views, but we are sorry that the maintenance of the property fell short of your expectations. The homeowner appreciates your feedback, and they have resolved the issues in the bathroom as well as with the linens. They would also like to clarify that travelers can see that the property is part of the Xaa-wan'k'wvt Village & Resort before they book, and the listing photos show the other nearby cottages in the village. Thank you for letting us know about your stay, and we hope that you keep us in mind for your future travels! Best, the Evolve Team

First let me say that the location of this house is great if you like nature. The house itself is a bit old and it shows in all the furnishings. There is no WiFi, washer or dryer in the house. Those amenities are supposed to be available in a clubhouse somewhere in the area but if you are like me you use WiFi for entertainment and having it somewhere else doesn’t really help. But the wildlife that you get to see out of the back yard is amazing. We spent over an hour the first morning at low tide in the back yard with cameras. Great amounts of different birds ( different types of herons, ducks, geese and vultures as well a small birds). We also saw a small family of 5 river otters playing as well as over 40 seals that we out on the sandbar. So that alone made this house a great place to stay for us.
