    Great Thanksgiving Getaway

    Reviewed by: Heidi C. on

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was beautiful, the scenery and sunsets were memorable. The kitchen was well equipped, the knives were sharp, pans were plentiful, kitchen essentials were there. We did get that cabin feeling when we realized there isn't a dishwasher or microwave and we couldn't figure out how to work the Television remote. We enjoyed puzzles, games, a roaring fire, and time together as a family when we weren't exploring the nearby sights. The host was available when I texted but we had complete privacy while staying here. The dogs loved being invited and their welcome rawhide treat - Thanks for that thoughtful touch.

A beautiful home with stunning views south of Hot Springs. The host was quick to answer any questions and respond to any issues. House was well equipped with everything you might need. It had all the things you may not want to pack; coffee, tea, spices, oil, flour, trash bags, etc. It does not have a microwave that we found. There's one tv in the master bedroom mostly set up for streaming or youtube which was fine for us. The deck is beautiful. Due to the mountain location, you will need to be aware of conserving water. We found a beautiful swimming location a few miles south at Cascade Falls. If you haven't been to Mammoth, it's great!

The location was unparalleled. The scenery was breathtaking, the beds and furniture were comfortable. Loved the deck, stargazing and seeing the wildlife. We wished we would have known ahead of time that the water usage would be limited. Overall we were very happy with our stay. It was a comfortable place to return to after long days of sightseeing.

The view was to die for. Definitely out of the way but we liked it that way. I'm in a wheelchair but the house was okay with wheelchair. Just needed small ramp to get in doorway. Definitely would stay again.

My family and I had a wonderful time here. The view of the Black Hills is priceless and the proximity to all the nearby parks made our stay even better. We’d spend our mornings/afternoons at Custer or Badlands, and then come back, grill out, and chill on the porch. The owner, Peter, who stays in an adjacent building on the property, is super nice and hospitable. Can’t recommend this place enough. Charmed!
