    Very pretty but not clean

    Reviewed by: Chastity E. on

The view was absolutely stunning. Communication was great, check in and out process was simple. The room and space was nice but it was not clean. Everything was covered with dust, cob webs hanging down in your face as your walking up and down the stairs, ant infestation in the lower level bathroom. Dead bugs all over the entire cabin, quite a few alive creatures inside also, outside fans didn't work and it was the end of September and 90 degrees so it was hot!!! Bedrooms didn't get cold with the AC running the living room as an ice box rest of the house was abnormally hot. A little disappointing, our entire family was there staying all together for our wedding and we planned the entire trip and the pictures looked perfect.

    Manager's Response:
Chasity, we're happy to hear you enjoyed the beautiful view from this home. The homeowner has high standards for their property and they're sorry that cleanliness issues impacted your stay. We wish you would have reached out to the local guest contact as the owner would have been happy to go to generous measures to make things right. The owner does have a regular pest control service, and while they have not previously received complaints regarding pests in the home, they plan to work with their pest control service to ensure this issue does not recur for future travelers. Since your stay, the owner has also added new curtains, bedding, and stainless steel appliances. We hope you'll consider traveling with us again! Best, the Evolve Team

We stayed here with several other couples. The space was great, the amenities were plentiful. We never used the hot tub, but took full advantage of the rocking chairs on the deck. Sunrises and sunsets were beautiful in the mountains. Played pool downstairs and games at the kitchen table upstairs. Never got bored. We also found several ways to get to the cabin after getting lost a time or two. Saw beautiful scenery everywhere. Thoroughly enjoyed staying addy Chateau sur la Mont .

I stayed here with several friends. The space and layout was amazing. Of course we had a beautiful view of the mountains and the cabin provides plenty of beds for those that want to come with a big group. There is a pool table and a bar located on the third floor so you can definitely create some entertainment. It was all clean too. The cabin is huge and in the smoky mountains.. enough said.

    Breathtaking Views and Bear Family!

    Reviewed by: Brittany on

We stayed last month and it was wonderful! We saw a family of bears almost every day while we were there. The cabin was spacious and beautiful. The kitchen is fully functional with stainless steel appliances and the owner said they had just gotten new bedding (we slept great). The views from the decks were breathtaking and the hot tub and pool table were a nice touch. I thought it would still be too hot but the weather was perfect for exploring outside. The hiking in the area was our favorite between all of the waterfalls and wildlife. We saw deer, wild turkeys, bears, and some type of otter-like animal not to mention rabbits and squirrels. We also went white water rafting. There were also some nearby pools that we were able to access with a card the owner left for when we needed to mix things up. We have never been to the area but there was so much to do between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge that we will need several more trips to do even half of it. We will definitely be back!

This place has one of the best views of the mountains and sleeps many people comfortably. We saw a moms beer and four cubs on multiple occasions while at the cabin. I’ve read other reviews on this cabin and really don’t get what people expect being out in the wilderness. Really! You want to see bears but you don’t expect to see spider webs wow. I’m planning my next visit here same time next year. The view is breathtaking of the mountain and your not far from downtown Gatlinburg. Owner has thought of everything you might need for your stay. We brought a karaoke machine and partied all night one night singing and had a blast. All new Appliances make for a great cooking experience. I suggest staying here if ever in Gatlinburg.

Amazing View of the Smokey Mountain plus Bears

    Reviewed by: Paula K. on

Our visit to Chateau Sur Lamont was amazing. The two large decks with rocking chairs made it so nice to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The view of the Smokey Mountain from this cabin are outstanding and a feature that few cabins in the area could begin to compare to. The cabin fit well with the needs of our 21 person family reunion but do be prepared for a fair amount of stairs. The beds were great and the abundance of bath towels and washcloths are a nice plus (especially for such a large group). Additionally, the kitchen was well stocked with plates, cups, mugs, pot and pans, etc. This cabin does great with parking as we were able to park one car, three vans, and a Tundra in the parking space provided (again not a feature that many cabins can boast about). While there was some deep cleaning such as sweeping outdoor decks and spider webs up too high to reach, the house was clean and ready when we arrived shortly after check-in time. Another unique bonus to this cabin is the location for seeing bears. We had multiple visits from mama bears with cubs as well as sighting of solitary bears. The best story of our week was of how one mama bear managed to open a van door and climbed inside one of our vans! Two of her cubs also checked out the inside of the van. So as a reminder to all who visit, lock your vehicle doors as you never know who might want to get inside.

This property was fantastic! We had a crowd of 11 and enjoyed having our own spaces on each floor. The game room was fantastic! We had more than enough linens and the kitchen was nicely stocked with dishes and cookware. The decks were fantastic, as was the view. The bunk room was great for all the kids. There were a few things broken ( top floor toilet seat, top floor ceiling fan is very unbalanced and noisy, and the kitchen fridge kept leaking water? Maintenance came, and seemed to have solved the problem, but it came back) All the fake plants throughout the house were very dusty, as was the top floor bedroom. But otherwise the house was clean. The top floor King mattress is VERY firm. The other beds were quite comfortable. We saw several bears and enjoyed the neighborhood pools!

Close to town, and a little market down the mountain with pizza, burgers, and basic supplies in case your group wants a quick lunch. We loved the house, the scenery, and convenient location. College friends and our families stayed in this large home for a whole week. The hot tub was relaxing, there was lots of space and plenty of linens and hot water for showers. However, there were several things that left us wanting like: no propane for the grill; there was not enough paper towels or toilet paper for the whole week; we called to report one-inch size ants in the kitchen and someone came out two days later to address “sugar ants”; the lock on the lower level door was loose and we had 3 children staying in that room; boards outside the lower level door were also broken and dangerous; baluster on the main deck was broken and we had a 1 year old. Several things were in need of repair like the dishwasher utensil rack, dining room table and a stool. There were great reviews on the property when we booked it months ago and I can now see why the recent reviews aren’t positive.

    Manager's Response:
Marcy, we're glad you enjoyed your stay overall, but are sorry to hear certain aspects fell short. We can confirm that the homeowner provides a starter kit with basic essentials, including two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom and one roll of paper towels. We understand the owner promptly addressed the unexpected issues that you encountered with the ants and we apologize the pest control company was not immediately available. The owner was unaware the grill was out of propane and wishes you had reached out. They would have been more than happy to assist. They are working diligently to address your concerns and ensure the scenario doesn't recur for future guests. Thank you for sharing your feedback so we can make the stay even better for the next guests. Best, the Evolve Team

The pictures are NOTHING like this place. The worst part is when we tried to talk with evolve and the homeowner multiple times neither did anything about it. This was the most unprofessional scam and it wasted a lot of our money. Here are just a FEW things wrong with this place.

    - [ ] All curtains are dirty, stained and broken and the ones in the living room do not provide privacy.
    - [ ] All furniture is very dirty, especially the couch.
    - [ ] The kitchen table is wobbly and stained everywhere.
    - [ ] All the appliances are very old and most are broken.
    - [ ] There are no big pots or pans. The ones in the kitchen are all small, old, dirty and broken.
    - [ ] The stairs going to the top floor paneling is coming off and cut our foot several times.
    - [ ] The upstairs bedroom bed is like laying on concrete and we could not use the dresser because all the drawers were either full or broken.
    - [ ] There was so much dust and dirt on all the furniture and plants.
    - [ ] The toilet seat upstairs was disconnected partially and dirty.
    - [ ] The mid-level bathroom had crap down the side of it
    - [ ] The game room bunk bedroom had a rodent packaging everywhere, like they have a rat problem and that room was filthy.
    - [ ] The queen bedroom next to that was also very dirty with trash all over the floor.
    - [ ] All the closets doors in every room are broken and the closets are very dirty.
    - [ ] The game room pool table was uneven and scratched everywhere
    - [ ] The cue stick rack was on the floor, broke and off the wall
    - [ ] Only 2 sticks were useable all other were broken
    - [ ] The bunk room stairway smelled like someone peed all in it.
    - [ ] The bunk room was also dirty
    - [ ] All the floors in the house were very dirty and the all the comforters on the beds smelled and didn’t look clean.
    - [ ] The garbage was overflowing outside with no room for any more, they didn’t pick up until 2 days after we got there and that’s only because I called several times.
    - [ ] There was trash all around on the property outside.
    - [ ] There was trash and left items from other customers stuffed all in and under the furniture.

    Manager's Response:
Jason & Drulene, we're sorry your stay didn't meet your expectations. We have shared your feedback with the owners who provided helpful insight on your stay. We can confirm that all appliances work just fine and won't be an issue for upcoming guests. Since your stay, this chalet has received a deep clean to ensure it is meticulous for each guest stay. While all guests have unique mattress preferences, these ones are known to be comfortable for guests and the mattress you're referring to is a Tempurpedic mattress and not firm. We are also happy to inform you that new blinds have been installed for maximum privacy. Additionally, the pool table has been refelted and the homeowner has purchased brand new pool sticks. The owners work with trusted local property managers and we encourage guests to utilize them if any concerns arise while in residence. We stayed at Chateau sur Lamont for a long weekend celebrating a friend's upcoming wedding. Our group of eleven enjoyed our stay overall, but we felt there were a few things that could have made the trip exceptional. First things first, the view is phenomenal. The overall layout of the cabin provides stunning views of the mountains. Each floor has a balcony showcasing the view, and that was by far the best part of the experience. Secondly, with eleven of us, everyone got our own bed and there was plenty of room to relax. While the beds ranged in comfort level, the abundance of them made up for it. From a position of location, the cabin is fantastically located just two miles up the mountains. Overall, the cabin has a few easily corrected opportunities in standard cleanliness and maintenance. The wet bar in the downstairs poker room had the distinct smell of dried beer, the curtains in the main floor have seen better days due to several of the hooks missing causing them to drag, and the hot tub cover's fasteners have broken over time causing our group to have to continually go outside and put the cover back on once the wind blew it off. Unfortunately, we also had to visit the local store for hand soap as none of the bathrooms had any available upon our arrival. Overall, we had a pleasant experience in the rental, but corrections of the above may make future renters have an amazing experience.

    2018 Family Christmas Holiday

    Reviewed by: Leslie R. on

Our family stayed here during 2018 Christmas holidays (21 adults and 2 kids)! We all were comfortable and we were very close to the OBER... which we'd planned snow activities for the family. Over all it was a great stay! We only hoped for a full bath on the very lower level where the bump-beds were located. Those sharing this room found themselves sharing the only shower located on the game-room level with those already occupying this level. I'll suggest the owners to dust more often to get rid of spider webs... my 10 year daughter and 5 year old grand-daughter are terrified of spiders. There were cobwebs located on the ceiling at the bottom of the stairs entering the game-room and on the pendent lighting in the kitchen. We were all amazed how well the kitchen was stocked with kitchenware (just needs a new can-opener). Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!
