    -- THE PROPERTY --

Master Bedroom: Queen Bed | Bedroom 2: 2 Twin-over-Twin Bunk Beds | Living Room: Queen Pullout Couch

Drop your bags at the door and walk straight down to the private beach when you arrive at this Northern Michigan escape. Wood paneling, wide windows opening to lake views, and soft furnishings make this an idyllic summer retreat.

The spacious covered deck is equipped with Adirondack chairs so you can enjoy the fresh air, serene setting and panoramic vistas in any weather. In the mornings, you can stroll down to the bistro table overlooking the water to sip your coffee over the lake.

Use the well-equipped kitchen to prepare hearty home-cooked meals, and savor every bite at the picnic table out on the covered deck. The cabin also boasts a charcoal grill so you can enjoy family barbecues.

Comfortable couches furnish the living area, making the space ideal for napping, relaxing or playing card games together. When it grows dark out, gather your s'mores supplies and roast marshmallows over the fire.

Nights of blissful slumber await on your soft beds, where the sounds of the waves on the shore will lull you to sleep.

    -- THE LOCATION --

Bring your ATVs or snowmobiles to hop on the miles of trails crisscrossing the entire Upper Peninsula - some of which start at the base of the cabin's driveway! Boating and fishing are also welcome on Gooseneck Lake, as well as on Camp Seven Lake just 1 mile away.

The cabin rests in Hiawatha National Forest which offers miles of lakeshore, hiking trails through remote northwoods and glimpses of wildlife. Palms Book State Park rests 13 miles from the cabin and is home to Kitch-iti-kipi, the state's largest freshwater spring.

Munising rests 30 miles north on Lake Superior, and offers vibrant views of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Rent a kayak to see the cliffs from their best vantage point, or to paddle past the shipwrecks that dot the coastline.

Step back in time and visit Mackinac Island where no cars are permitted along the historic streets. Be sure to stop by Oswald Bear Ranch on the way there or back to see the family-friendly bear rescue center.

    How peaceful!

    Reviewed by: Heather C on

Cabin was very clean and comfortable. Every morning I just couldn't believe how beautiful the view was! Saw eagles, loons and deer every day. It's a little bit off the beaten path but worth it. The owner was very gracious and texted me with good ideas. Would go again!

The cabin was beautiful, and roomy. The location was private and peaceful, and located just a scenic drive away from many gorgeous falls, dunes and parks. The deck and fire pit gave a perfect view of the lake, and the whole experience was completely relaxing! The property manager was friendly and always available. We definitely recommend this spot, and hope to visit again!

    Great Remote Getaway

    Reviewed by: Nicole B. on

We had such a lovely stay. The property and its views are absolutely beautiful and it is quite remote which is exactly what we were seeking for a 5-day stay away from city life. Janet made a number of recommendations to us that were very helpful in terms of things to do/see/eat. I would definitely recommend this property!

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days the week after our wedding and absolutely loved it!! It was the perfect calm, relaxing and peaceful getaway after all our crazy wedding planning. The view over gooseneck lake was phenomenal and the blue fills were biting if your up for fishing! Janet was amazing to work with, she was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had! Highly recommend this cabin for an off the grid, quiet cabin on the lake getaway!

The cabin is perfectly located in beautiful Hiawatha forest and has an amazing view over Gooseneck Lake. Janet is a perfect host, very communicative and helpful at all times. During our stay in the beginning of May, the weather was not that great so we spent quite some time inside the cabin and overall, the condition of the supplies and infrastructure could need a facelift or some improvement.

    A Home Away from Home

    Reviewed by: Sarah B. on

This entire experience was exactly what we hoped it would be. A cozy property that time seemed to forget - where everyday could be a vacation. We brought our kayaks and had a blast exploring the lake. We also took day trips to nearby sights (Big Springs and Pictured Rocks). To top it off, the owners couldn't have been more accommodating and readily available. Awesome experience and hope to return again! Would definitely recommend to a fellow UP lover!

This beach house is a perfect getaway weekend place in the Upper Peninsula. This house is spacious enough for a small group or a family and has all the basic amenities. The patio offers a beautiful space and view where we enjoyed our morning coffee. The fireplace was a major attraction for our group. The host Janet is cooperative, very helpful and a great person.
