    Absolutely Love This House!

    Reviewed by: Tracy on

We came to New River Gorge for a weekend of climbing, and while the climbing was spectacular, I also found this house a wonderful place to begin and end our day. Everything is comfortable and completely stocked with anything one might need. It was very clean, spacious, and stocked generously with towels, soaps, kitchen essentials (frig, coffee pot (and coffee), microwave, washer, dryer, etc etc.), the tables were set, and even though, we didn't use everything, it was nice to have it all accessible (and to look at). There was even bandaids and other supplies for sore climbing fingers. :) Anyway, I found it so comfortable and welcoming to all who want to be free to really experience the outdoors and feel rested before and after.
This is a place that I would stay in anytime. The location is perfect and close to town (walking distance) and all you come to do outside. Thank You!

We are 3 friends who met in WV for an active girl's weekend that included hiking and running. Evolve's place had lots of charm and a coziness that brought us back to our childhood when we would stay at our grandmother's. It was clean and had everything we needed for the weekend. It has a great front porch that we used in the morning and evening. The house has a musty smell, but we got used to it. It is in close proximity to recreational areas and breweries (driving) and within walking distance to restaurants and shops located in the historical district of Fayetteville.

We apologize that there was a musty smell during your stay and we're happy to report that we have since had the carpets professionally cleaned to hopefully get rid of it. We appreciate your feedback and would love to host you again!" Best, the Evolve Team

The property is right in the middle of the sweetest town. We could walk to everything and still pop in the car for short drive to everything outdoors that you'd ever want to do. The house was stocked with everything which I didn't expect as we came fully prepared but how nice to know you don't have to bring things like soap, salt, etc. We loved sitting out on the front porch and watching the world go by. Also, the property manager (owner?) was gracious enough to allow us to come in early and leave a little later than is written on the description which was a huge help to us so we didn't have to lug around all of our stuff while we were still exploring the area. We would definitely stay there again!

    Perfect, except a little "stale."

We loved our time at this property. There was a bit of "stale" smell, that of a home that maybe needed to be aired out. But as it was summer, we were on the porch 90% of the time. We walked to "downtown" and got food, drinks ... coffee! (at the Cathedral Cafe; it's a must). We were there the weekend of the Thurmond Triathlon. We sat on our porch and watched runners come around the corner; we cheered them on as we snacked and drank. Fun! The house is well equipped with anything we needed and more. Great price for weekend in off-the beaten path Fayetteville!

We enjoyed our stay in this home very much. It was very quaint and walking distance to town which was home to several very good restaurants. We were in the area for white water rafting and this home provided very comfortable accommodations after our day on the river. The hostess was extremely kind and welcoming! I recommend this property.

    Terrific little place

    Reviewed by: Betsy H. on

This great little house was perfect for three of us. It was well furnished and stocked. The location is excellent to walk to town and the park. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was not working so I called the owner. We agreed upon a temporary solution of a room air conditioner for the four nights. That, along with the ceiling fans, made the summer days tolerable. Neither the dishwasher nor garbage disposal were working. I also informed the owner but she already knew. I was told that I would receive a discount. If these issues were fixed, I?d give the property 5 stars.

This lovely older home is well maintained and very inviting, very livable with so comfy beds. You won't need to drive to enjoy the local shops and restaurants though it is a bit of a hoof home. Sit on the porch and greet the passersby.
