    Girls Weekend Getaway

    Reviewed by: Shelby H. on

The property was nice for a quick girls weekend. We do recommend you bring your own towels. The listing says it sleeps 9 but only has towels for 4 people. You also have to replace any paper goods you use, which isn't a big deal but would have liked to know that before checking in so we could have brought our own. The decor is crazy. There's many themes going on such as rustic in the living room then fishing theme on a random wall, and Italian for the kitchen/dinning room. Some areas of the house need updated like the bathroom shower with 2 shower heads but only 1 works, the upstairs bathroom with the tub that has no step to get into, install some bathroom fans in each restroom, and the outside patio furniture should be all one color. Also the light switches are all over the place. Having them labeled would have saved us time finding the ones we needed. Overall, it was a great location and we had plenty of room. We had a wonderful time in Hot Springs and will visit again.

The driveway is very very steep! We had a boat and worried about the brakes on the truck holding! It really was a beautiful house and lot. It even had a watermellan patch below the patio. We would go again, but if you use the boat dock be ready to climb the hill, it's steep!!!

The place met all of our needs. Pros The boat slip Lots of bedding and pillows Porch area was huge Close to stores if needed Lake was really nice Cons Didn't realize there wasn't soap (bath or laundry) and towels were lacking but we made it work The stairs are steep if that's an issue for you. But we didn't have any problems with it. There was a lot of outdoor space. Would have liked to see more things to do in backyard. Maybe chairs around a fire pit? Or a play area? Overall a great place to stay. Thanks!

Great location, close to all major stores and eating. Great little arcade and putt putt within 5 miles that was fun for kids. House is super clean and had everything our family of four needed. We tried fishing for bass, not much luck on that, but did catch a couple perch. Overall experience was great, would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

We were happy overall. But there weren?t enough towels or wash rags for everyone to have one. The yard needed to be mowed. The power and lights didn?t work in the dock. And the toilet downstairs would run every time you used it, tho it was an easy fix of the plunger every time. Location was good. And we did enjoy our stay.

We had a good stay at this VRBO property (2 couples and one three year old, for four nights). The house is a nice property in a good location. It really should be a 5 star property but I struggle to rate it any higher than three stars based on the many things that need attention. • TV downstairs does not work. The picture flakes out on a regular basis (pixilation on the video). The TV upstairs works fine. • The upstairs toilet often has the water keep running after flushing. • The 3-way switches for the light above the stairs do not work properly. • The washing machine worked OK but made a lot of racket. We wondered if it was going to come apart. • The kitchen is not really outfitted for preparing meals: limited number of plates/bowls, no skillet, pots/pans are falling apart • The dishes in the kitchen are all cracked or chipped. We tried to find a single dish that wasn’t broken but failed. • There was no soap provided for the dishwasher. • The sliding glass door does not latch shut.

Some friend and I came down for Derby weekend and enjoyed this property very much. The outdoor space was great and we enjoyed eating breakfast on the deck area. The grill provided is in decent shape produced some nice smoked chicken!! Overall the house fit our needs very well. We used the pull out bed and air mattress (had a little trouble with it staying inflated), as well as the 3 bedrooms. Big Props to the managers of this property for having MULTIPLE box fans! The kitchen seemed that have everything we needed, but we didn't need much more than a skillet and baking sheet so I didn't dig around in there too much. Overall, very happy with our stay... and we'll certain consider staying her again next year for the Derby!

The deck area and water was very nice. The temperature regulation in the house was very poor. We stayed in February when it was very chilly. Also, we came for a girls weekend and could not enjoy even watching tv because the satellite kept going in and out.

This is definitely a great place. It was perfect for my double date Birthday retreat for my best friend. One couple up stairs and one downstairs. Another could sleep on the sleeper sofa downstairs. I wouldn't advise the bedroom in the master bedroom to be occupied by another couple for the sake of privacy, but it would be perfect for children or if it was an all girls trip.My best friend truly enjoyed herself and everything was within ten minutes from the cabin (restaurants, stores, spas etc.)This is truly a gem.
