Nestled between the scenic Pisgah and Cherokee National Forests and the French Broad River, the 'RiverWalk Studio' offers a zen option to 'be' fully immersed in the woods as well as the waters of the mountains. Balance the peaceful serenity of the Eastern songbirds with the delight of the old laughing river full of life! Hop in the refreshing French Broad River by day then wet your whistle on a cool local brew with fresh mountain trout at a Hot Springs’ eatery afterward.

Step inside this colorful residential studio with high wraparound windows offering cathedral views of the tall oaks and maples nearby. The hardwood and pine floors add contrast to the vibrant interiors reflecting the abundant natural sunlight.

Spend a sunny afternoon with your (river-wet) companions at our community’s covered pavilion on the French Broad River. You certainly will want to bring your own kayaks, tubes, rafts, or fishing poles to use throughout your trip! There's no better way to finish a day on the river than roasting hot dogs and s'mores at the fire pit. If you want to sleep riverside, there’s a private 'River Glamping Tent' option if you decide to bring your own sleeping bags.

If you’re lucky, prep your catch-of-the-day in the studio galley kitchen with an outdoor grill and all of the essentials - a blender for daiquiris, smoothies or a choice of K-cups! Dine in the spacious great room or al fresco under the umbrella and canopy of tall hardwoods!

You’ll enjoy a lofty night’s sleep in the two twins or sumptuous king-sized bed in the loft or deluxe memory-foam queen sleeper sofa in the main living room.

Don’t forget to make memories with the young-at-heart by meandering through the Faerie Garden (faerie attire included) - and exploring the forests. Or, hide in one of our hammocks to catch up on your favorite book or sneak a relaxing nature nap? Enjoy an uncontaminated starry night sky by rolling out the SKY MAT in the grass to see stars not seen in the city night skies. Every season brings new beauty to the 'RiverWalk Studio,' and we hope you love the peacefulness and tranquility found as much as we do!

After you arrive, you’ll want to walk down to be near the waters of the French Broad River and spend your day lounging riverside! This quaint riverfront area is perfect for a refreshing float in an inner tube or paddling around the islands. If you’re not a strong swimmer, you’ll want to connect to one of the ropes to keep you close to the shore.

Don’t miss a leisurely 1.5-mile walk (or ride) down the historic river trade route to see the 4500+ year-old Native American pictographs on “Paint Rock.” If you’re a climber, you’ll love the high look-out river views on the state line at Historic Paint Rock. (You may want to take a ride up to the swimming hole with picnic tables, bathrooms, waterfalls and hiking trails in Cherokee National Forest Recreation Area).

The studio is lovely and way up on a ridge, very private (assuming nobody rents the house right next to it). The fire pit is way down the hill next to the river. Be sure to print or screenshot ALL instructions before you arrive, especially if you're arriving after dark (4:30pm in winter). No cell service at the house, use landline for phone calls. Shower only, no bath. Beds are okay, mattresses are the plastic covered kind. We enjoyed the home but will look elsewhere next time.

I loved my time there. The space was gorgeous and the scenery stunning, but for what I paid, I was hoping for something more. Nice touches, like the free bottle of wine, didn't quite make up for the downside. The bed was more than a let down; it was downright uncomfortable. Putting two full mattresses together and calling it a king or queen is misleading at best. Something was nesting in the BBQ with scat in the grill. Otherwise, a well stocked kitchen.
