Four travelers can spend days fly fishing on the river, hiking through the national forest, or simply catching up on their favorite book as they relax on the massive front deck.

With the Nottely River right in your backyard, there's no need to travel far for days of fun and adventure. The rapidly-running river is ideal for tubing, rafting, and exploring. Anglers can bring their rods and try to reel in some fish during your stay! The river is also great for those who'd like to try their hand fly fishing.
Those who'd prefer to stay on dry land can whittle a new hiking stick and explore Nantahala National Forest! One of the forest's hiking trails starts in the side yard along a stream that feeds the river.
If you're itching to get into town, take a 15-minute drive to downtown Murphy for shopping and tasty local restaurants! Head a bit further to Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel, only 25 minutes away, and press your luck at the slots or table games.

Otter Cottage is wonderful
5/5 My mother and I had a wonderful stay at Otter Cottage. The setting is spectacular right on the river. Feels secluded but is a short drive to Murphy for dining and shopping. We enjoyed making meals, sitting on the deck, watching the river go by and taking short excursions around the area. The check in process was easy and Greg was available for questions. We definitely hope to return!

Cabin next to a very pretty river
5/5 We loved our stay here. Very clean and had most essentials needed. Had a restful week watching the river, relaxing by the fireplace and taking drives around the area. Comfortable bed.

5/5 Otter Cabin is is beautiful. Very clean and cozy. So much to do for the kids around the cabin, and close enough to drive to other cities. Had a wonderful time. Host was wonderful and helpful. Will be back for more memories

5/5 Gregg and Gail are fantastic hosts. The photos of the cabin don't do it justice. When you come around the bend into the valley the first time, it will take your breath away. The seclusion, beauty, and the comforts of the cabin are unparalleled. You won't go wrong with this one!
