We had a fabulous time at the Nathrop House. We came with a girl scout troop, and had easy access to horseback riding, zip-lining (Huge recommendation and shout-out to Captain Zipline), hotsprings, and more. The house itself was large and gorgeous. Definitely exceeded expectations.

    Christmas Ski Trip

    Reviewed by: Dawn W. on

We stayed the week between Christmas and New Year's. The house accommodated our large group very well. It was warm while the temps were not, driveway definitely needed 4 wheel drive w/ the snow. We cooked several meals there for a dozen people and while the kitchen is stocked I felt like it needed to be gone through and updated re: pots and pans and serving dishes. That would be my only suggestion otherwise we had a great time and enjoyed the house.

Three families with small children stayed in the house over Thanksgiving. The house was perfect! The kitchen had the dishes to accommodate a Thanksgiving meal and the table was actually large enough. We enjoyed doing runs through the neighborhood and the proximity to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs was great. Definitely a recommendation!

    Perfect Colorado lifestyle experience

    Reviewed by: ColoradoKiwi on

We had the house for two much too short nights to have a family and friends gathering. From mountain biking through the gate into the national forest ( where we interecepted the Colorado trail and rode it northward to Raspberry gulch (mod-adv ride) to sitting on the deck watching the setting sun with a tastly local Eddyline Brewery beer, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Very comfortable beds in a peaceful house where the wind whispers through the pines. Great 360 degree views outside and inside you can sit around the fireplace when the morning turns chilly with a snow flurry blowing through. Like I mentioned this is the quintessential Colorado experience!

This house was perfect. Everything we could have asked for and more. The four bedrooms were just the right fit four our four families. The house was the perfect location to Buena Vista and Salida for the rock climbers, hikers who like to chase waterfalls and whitewater rafters! We also enjoyed the hot springs and and the whitewater festival! It would have been nice to have a 2nd baby gate for our 10 mo old but we managed. The deck with the wood burning stove was the ultimate end to our very busy days. The kitchen was well stocked and it was especially helpful to have two refrigerators. I would definitely recommend this property, especially for a large group. We had 8 adults and seven children and we did not feel cramped for space at anytime.

This place met almost all expectations. It is just as pictured, but even better. Everything was clean, tidy and inviting. We had a somewhat large group (two families with small children, grandparents, and brother in-law) and there was plenty of room for playing with the kids, or taking a quiet nap. The place had games and puzzles for the kids as well as the adults. We had prompt communication with the manager before we arrived and while we were there. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra linens. There were also plenty of towels. My only suggestion is there needs to be a couple more large durable pans for cooking. They did have a crock pot, blender, and an electric griddle which we gladly used. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit.
