Amazing home!! Sparkling clean, open space, accommodated our 4 adults and 3 kids perfectly. Breathtaking views with a fire pit perfectly placed to enjoy them. I've stayed in a ton of AirBnBs and this place literally had everything you can think of supplied in the kitchen and home in general. Already looking at future festivals out there and will Definitely be booking the Cylcling Coop again!!

    Comfortable & accurate

    Reviewed by: Jill C. on

What a wonderful property! A group of 5 of us stayed for a birthday getaway to the local wineries and the Cycling Coop was exactly as advertised: comfortable for all, beautiful setting, and met every need we had. We walked in and could tell right away it was new and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked with coffee and creamers, the beds were glorious, and we all appreciated that the owners had shampoo & conditioner in the bathrooms as our party forgot that. We spent the first night at the fire pit and enjoyed looking at all the deer that roamed nearby. We cooked a wonderful breakfast the next morning and had all the appliances we could need. Check-in and -out was a simple process. We really appreciated the welcome booklet that was included with all the local attractions nearby. We weren’t a group of avid cyclists so we didn’t take advantage of all the amenities the owners made available for that, but it’s definitely there! The only quibble we had—and it’s very, very minor and quite obvious looking back at the property photos—is that the loving room is not a place for a large group to comfortably “hang out”. The couch seats 3 and there are 2 club chairs so our group of 5 was okay, but more than that and you would have to pull over chairs/stools from the eating area. Again, not a big deal to do so, but it’s something to think about if you’ve spent your day on a bike seat. Thank you for letting us stay—the home is wonderful!

A few hiccups, but overall a good stay....

    Reviewed by: Jeremy W. on

Upon arrival there were several issues we had to deal with immediately. One I handled those issues, my family and I had a good stay. The place is not private due to the owners mother living on the property, and you never know when contractors will show up. We had yard crews show up two days in a row and then had pest control come in the house and spray while we were there. Definitely not very professional, but again we made it work. The place itself is very nice, and it doesn't hurt that it's just around the corner from Alamo Springs Café!

    Manager's Response:
Jeremy, we're glad you enjoyed your stay overall, but are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced. The homeowner would like to share the following message:

"We regret that your stay did not live up to our reputation or standards. While no one lives at the property permanently, we do maintain a separate unit on the property for maintenance purposes. This is almost always scheduled when no guests are present. However, we do need to perform preventative maintenance on occasion during busy weeks. We have talked with the property manager and the initial issues have been resolved. We took generous measures to make up for the troubles and we hope you had a great time despite the hiccups."

This house is so cute and the set up is really nice for a family or group of friends. The back of the house has stunning views of the hills and the location is nice and quiet. We really enjoyed hanging out at the house for the weekend. The roads to this house are narrow and pretty windy. Not too far from downtown area - took us about 15 minutes. I really loved this house - new and super nice! Satisfied all around.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Cycling Coop - I was a little concerned that it was too far out from civilization when I say how remote it looked on the listing, but it's actually nestled in a community of large plots of land and is just a 20-minute drive from restaurants/wineries. The house itself was very clean with stylish furniture and many unique designs and artistic features highlighting the cycling theme. The beds are very comfortable, and the house comes stocked with even more amenities that you would need - basic toiletries, some food/snacks, plenty of blankets and towels. What really sold me on the place when I arrived was the views. Absolutely beautiful, the pictures in the listing really don't do it justice. This is a great place to go for a girl's weekend (what we did) or with families with young kids. Couldn't recommend it enough. One thing to be aware of though, the stairs up to the loft bedroom are quite steep and narrow, so might not be the easiest for certain folks.

    Cycle Coop Was Outstanding

    Reviewed by: Andrew on

The Cycle Coop exceeded our expectations. The location out in the hills was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet yet not too far from Fredericksburg. We were not able to take advantage of the cycling, rather enjoyed the country roads for running. We very much appreciated the extras provided; oatmeal, popcorn, tea and coffee, and condiments. We look forward to our next visit to the Hill Country, and staying at the Cycling Coop again.

We loved this little cabin off the beaten path. It had a beautiful view....perfect for that morning cup of joe or relaxing by the fire pit at night with the crew. The place itself was beautiful and the aminities were great! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the beds were too firm for the majority of us. It won?t prevent us from staying here again though. We are already talking about our next trip!

We had a great experience at The Cycling Coop for our mother/daughters trip. There were four of us, but, the house could have easily slept eight. It was just as described when I found it. It was super clean, very well maintained. It had everything you could imagine. The owners have gone above and beyond to provide a really great experience. I would highly recommend this house to anyone traveling to the area. We enjoyed the fire pit, we watched deer every morning and every evening after going in to town to enjoy the shops and tasting rooms. The Alamo Springs Cafe was right down the road from us, and they had the best burger I believe I may have ever had. I will definately stay at this property again anytime I am in the area.

This property was amazing! I wish I could give it 5 stars! There were 5 adults staying here, spent 2 nights. It looked small when we drove up, it?s actually a brand new custom build- they?ve paid attention to every little detail and the layout flows really well. Master bedroom/bathroom was gorgeous, shower had river rock bottom and both bathrooms had hotel style dispensers stocked with shampoo/conditioner/soap. Even the toilet paper and paper towels provided were the good kind! Plenty of bath towels and the kitchen had everything, coffee, sugar, appliances, pots and pans, even ziplock bags and foil/plastic wrap. The porch had the most amazing views and breeze! Did not feel like we were in the upper 90s! Beautiful chairs and fire pit area and brand new grill. Very responsive property managers- the grill gas tank was empty, I text them to let them know and within an hour they had switched out the tank and brought an extra one. Even asked if there was anything else they could bring us that we would need! The only con we had and the reason I couldn?t give them 5 stars is because of the ants. Our guests that stayed in the bunk bed room (super excited about bunk beds btw) woke up the first night to ants crawling and biting them. Then we found a trail of them in the kitchen too and couldn?t sit in the kitchen table (they would crawl up our feet). I did text and let the property managers know and they did offer to remedy it right away but we preferred not to have any spraying going on during our stay and relocated to the living room and sharing the other beds. Bugs are expected with a new build, just stinks the ants were actually in the beds. I know they will definitely take care of it bc of how responsive they were with us so I?m sure that won?t be an issue again. Other than that, place was amazing, location was about 25 min out of town so super calm and peaceful. Had a relaxing drive after an afternoon of wine tasting and a fun evening playing with the games provided and hanging out on the patio. Woke up to deer outside the window :) We will definitely make it our annual trip!

Great place to stay. We had a great time. The place was super clean and up to date. We loved sitting on the back porch in the reclining chairs and the firepit was a plus. The home is well stocked with everything you need. Although we are cyclists we ended up not taking our bikes - next time for sure. 1 star lost only because we didn't utilize the bunk beds, they were a bit hard. They would be great for just the kids though. Otherwise I recommend. Oh and so many deer around, they were fun to watch.
