    Turning 30 in the 70’s

We just returned from the 70’s! Spent the weekend in the 70’s Lodge celebrating my daughter turning 30!! She and 19 friends enjoyed every minute of this incredible home! It far exceeded our expectations, and the pictures do not do justice to how incredibly it is decorated! The attention to detail in every 70’s themed room was amazing!! There was so much room and so much to do that it never felt overwhelming with our large group! Plenty of beds and bathrooms and space! We stayed in the entire weekend due to snowstorm and never once got bored! I cannot recommend enough!!

    Great Getaway Home

    Reviewed by: Janelle A. on

This is by far one of the most amazing properties I have ever stayed at! The attention to detail and the prompt response of the property manager and owner can't be beat. We stayed here with 12 friends for a weekend to celebrate some milestone birthdays and we could not have chosen a better place to relax and enjoy the company of our friends. We were going to make dinner plans for one evening but ended up staying in just so we could enjoy all that the house had to offer. There is so much space that you never feel crowded. There is so much to keep you entertained I don't think you could ever be bored here! If you do choose to head into downtown TC, it is a very close drive. Thanks to the owner Dan and property manager Cindy for a great time! Our group is ready to make it an annual trip.

We had a group of 15 ladies stay at the Lodge for our annual Fall getaway. It was beyond our expectations! Pictures do not do the 70's house full justice. The pics show how fabulous it is, but in person it is even better. The home is huge and the game room and accommodations are our of this world! The bedrooms are impeccably decorated for the theme of each room, and the entire house is luxurious, cozy and comfortable. There were so many favorites, it is hard to choose just one..or three..or seven. The game room is outstanding! You could relax in the sauna or have a cocktail lounging by the fire at the whiskey bar. The outdoor fire pit area was perfect for roasting smores or sitting around telling stories. Ample parking, beautiful outdoor porch with an overlook of the Boardman River valley and the carpet of color from the fall leaves on the trees. We couldn't ask for any more! Our hosts were a pleasure to work with and Cindy was prompt to communicate and offer any assistance. I heard from everyone this was their favorite home yet! Its not just a "lodge" it is an experience!

Fabulous for a family of 21

We were all impressed with the house, surrounding property, and location. We made good use of all amenities. We were a family of 10 grandchildren ranging from 10 to 27 years. They spent most of the time at the house in the game room. We enjoyed sitting outside on the deck for some of our meals and we had plenty of places to eat. We really liked the huge table in the game room so that our whole family could eat together. Thank you so much Dan for providing a fabulous place to stay for our group.

Thank you Dan and team for making a place like this available for people to come and experience. I really do hope we get to visit again.

This place is a must see. You really feel like you have time traveled to the 70’s. From watching VHS videos around the fireplace. To the “signed” Burt Reynolds photo in the bar. The place has everything. The indoor hot tub was a delight and the sauna stayed steamy. Also the outside fireplace was stocked with wood to enjoy the evenings. I would totally recommend this place to anyone.

Unbelieveable Place, so much more than expected

    Reviewed by: jane on

This 70's lodge was so much more than expected. The photos are great but they don't capture the entire place as a whole. It is like a museum that you can actually eat, sleep, converse and play in. We had family in from several states and the quality time that each person got to have with others was priceless. It was heartwarming to see all of the sidebar conversations going on in every corner of this spacious home. There are private areas, entertainment areas, areas for small, medium or large groups of adults, kids, adults and kids to catch up, play games, watch movies, just be together and make memories. The 70's theme put everyone in a festive mood and the mandatory dress up that we imposed for Saturday nights dinner was a huge highlight and major photo opportunity. The owner and Manager were super from the beginning to the end which we really did not need them at all because the house was in perfect condition and had every amenity that you would require. We can't wait to come back in the summer.

This is, hands down, the best rental property I have ever stayed in! I stayed at the 70?s Lodge this past weekend for a bachelorette party with a group of 10. The location of the property is extremely convenient. Weather permitting, it is walking distance to tons of stores and restaurants. Right from the start, the owner Dan, was incredibly accommodating and helpful. He met us the day we arrived to give us a tour even though it was snowing like crazy outside. After he left, we discovered that he had gotten the bride-to-be a Traverse City welcome gift box! I?m not sure if we had the chance to thank him but I wanted to include it in the review (Thanks Dan!). We let him know we had more guests arriving later in the evening and he graciously offered to shovel and salt the driveway, AGAIN. Then, Dan came back in the morning to plow the driveway and he even wiped the snow off of our 4 vehicles, which is above and beyond the call of duty. You know the saying, ?it looked better on myspace/facebook/etc.?, this place is the exact opposite. It is SO much better in person and the photos do NOT do the place justice. You can really tell that Dan put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into renovating/restoring this property. The rooms were filled with carefully curated items/objects pertaining to the theme and I really have to commend Dan on a job well done with this endeavor; the attention to detail is astounding. We also discovered that the house is pretty well-insulated from sound. Even with the music blasting in the game room, it was easy to find a quiet place in the house to nap which was a HUGE positive when you are vacationing with a larger group as not everyone will be on the same schedule. The house was stocked with plenty of extra pillows & blankets and everyone just kept commenting on how comfortable all of the beds were! I want to give one final thank you to Dan, and his associate, Cindy, for making everything perfect during our stay! We hope to be back! :)

The house is excellent for large groups- we had 20 & it worked perfect. There are several spaces to hang out, including a large rec. area with many gaming options, tvs, surround sound system, & hot tub. There's also a nice sauna on the lower level, a couple gas fireplaces upstairs, & a fire pit outside. The small bar area is perfect with everything you could want for mixing up & serving beverages. The 70s decor is great- awesome attention to detail on all the room themes. Dan (owner) & Cindy (rental manager) were great to deal with.

We rented this awesome place for a Friends Trip for a Wine Tour Weekend. The first night the roads were getting bad so we decided to stay in for the night and the house kept us entertained for sure. There are local pizza places around so we were able to order in and hang out all night without getting bored. We had seven couples come up with us and we are already talking about coming back in the summer to be able to enjoy the outside a little more. There was plenty of room for our big group with room to spare. This house has many sitting areas to enjoy and read a book, enjoy the fireplaces, drink your coffee in the morning or take a morning dip in the hot tub! It was just a short trip to the peninsulas for the wine tours and the casino but there are stores nearby to pick up groceries or forgotten items. The owners were very friendly and there if we needed them. We will be back again for sure.

Impressive themed house. A lot of work went into making this house a fun and comfortable house.
