Inside this one-room log-sided cabin, the unit features hardwood floors, exposed wood-beam ceilings, and expansive windows and glass doors for a naturally bright ambiance. The queen bed is situated in a little nook so it’s tucked out of the way, allowing for more space throughout the cabin.

The well-equipped kitchen hosts a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and hotplate, capable of handling any necessary culinary needs. Fire up the outdoor grill to prepare the main entree for a barbecue feast.

As evening rolls around, unwind on the sofa and zone out to shows on the flat-screen Satellite TV. Turn the sofa into a bed for additional sleeping space while you claim the comfortable queen-sized bed.

    -- THE LOCATION --

Located just up the hill off the Moonshiner28 and just 20 minutes from the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway, this cabin grants unparalleled access to some of the major runs moonshiners used back in the day - motorcycle nirvana.

Travel 103 miles of winding roads with incredible mountain vistas and waterfall views through Franklin and Highlands North Carolina before turning southward into Georgia and South Carolina ending in Walhalla.

Outdoor enthusiasts will be excited to know that the cabin is less than 10 minutes from Stecoah Gap on the Appalachian Trail. Lace up the hiking boots and head towards Cheoah Bald or the Gorge for an exhilarating hike. You'll also love the home's close proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, just 20-30 minutes away.

Wonderful getaway for watching the big Football Bowls and relaxing after a hectic Christmas Holiday. The cabin was emaculate and had EVERYTHING down to a small box of matches. The host couple even left us a bottle of Champagne to celebrate the new year while we were there. The enclosed porch gave our Yorkey a place to play. Because of my support dog we brought food to last us during our stay. Small appliances, gas grill, miscellaneous eating utensils, etc....anything you needed for staying in for meals. The drive up to the cabin was a challenge, but you were warned ahead of time. We appreciate the owner's kind hospitality. I didn't think I could convenience my husband to get away during Bowl Week, but we both are big SEC/ACC fans and enjoyed relaxing in a homey atmosphere. Perfect for 2....and a small dog.

My Husband and I stayed at the Coop for our Honeymoon. Loved sitting on the back porch listening to the quiet noises of Nature. Nestled in such a cute, cozy little town Stecoah. Everyone is so nice. It was perfectly centered in the middle of all the things we had planned that week. We visited Cades Cove, Gatlinburg, Fontana Dam and many other adventures. The owners where so sweet and helpful the entire time, the little touches to the cabin made it perfect & cozy ,they have thought of everything. They even checked in on us midweek to make sure we had everything we needed. The owners where so hospitable . They made everything seamless, from meeting them at the storage unit to store our boat (which they were nice enough to set up for us before hand) checking in and checking out. We will definitely be visiting again. Already Planing a family trip & our 1 year Anniversary trip.

The Coop was perfect for our long weekend away from home! It is tucked away into the woods, so peaceful and quiet, and an easy drive to hikes, waterfalls, and breweries in nearby towns. We received very detailed directions prior to arrival, so the house was easy to find even at 11:00 at night. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and morning coffee. Would definitely recommend!

The place is amazing and you are literally in the middle of the woods.
The owners are very helpful and have covered every single detail, including how to get there with different vehicles.
Cozy and close to many trails, it is either good for walking around or just relaxing and resting in the middle of the Apalachian woods.
    It's a dream.

We had a wonderful trip! What a great little house. Way back in the Woods we enjoyed some much needed time off, didn’t have cell phone service (a plus honestly) but the WiFi worked great when I needed to check in with the outside world. Not too far off the road, found some great local restaurants and enjoyed a day in Cherokee
    Thanks for the great property!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect for what we needed. Everything was clean and well supplied. The screen porch was wonderful!!! We will return for another visit. We were riding motorcycles in the area and didn't find the driveway to be a problem if you took your time and were familiar with handling your bike. Our host even helped us turn our trailer around (had to disconnect). We had a great time, saw some awesome country, and got some wonderful rest at the cabin. Couldn't have been better. Thanks, Craig for providing a great vacation experience for us.

We really enjoyed staying in the cabin. The screened porch is really nice to enjoy sitting directly in the woods. We caught some hot days, so the ac did a good job as well. If it?s raining heavily, it?s getting quite noisy in the cabin, due to the roof construction, but that is ok if it?s only a short thunderstorm as we had it that one night. We definitely can imagine to come back at some point.

I think the best Airbnbs are the ones that make you want to live there, and I definitely felt that way at the cabin. The location was close to everything we wanted to do — hiking in Joyce Kilmer, hanging out in Bryson City, trail running at Tsali — but the cabin felt tucked away on a special, secluded wooded mountaintop. I could stay and drink coffee on the covered deck while looking out at the forest and ridges forever. The space is the perfect size for a couple, and the cabin was absolutely chock full of lovely, thoughtful touches and amenities. I would highly recommend this rental and I would love to come back.

This little cabin is exactly as described, which is a nice thing to find when you have stayed in places that exaggerated their qualities. The address I was given by VRBO was not the correct address, so it was not easily found and I had to call the contact number. Once the address issue was cleared, finding the place was easy enough. The location is good and the parking is, too. Unfortunately, there has been a past rodent problem and there is a strong rodent odor in the cabinetry. This is a bit offputting in food prep areas. To the owner's credit, there was no sign of recent rodent activity and the cabinets appeared clean despite the overwhelming odor. It would also be nice if the slider doors had screens in them. I chose this cabin for the porch and doors, price and location. I was disappointed to find that the sliders had no screens and were mandated to be closed, especially at night. I avoid air conditioning and had hoped to be able to keep the doors open, but could not since there were no screens. The owner should be commended for how well appointed the cabin is. There was coffee, filters, sugar and creamer there. There was liquid handsoap, which is almost unheard of in a rental. There were adequate linens and papergoods, as well. Having an icemaker is also a nice touch in a rental. There was 4G Verizon service available at the cabin, but the WIFI was weak and unreliable. I know some people get away to unplug, but I do not, and as a business owner, cannot. Those who need WIFI might not appreciate what is available here. The location is good, depending on your needs. The AT is nearby, Robbinsville is a short trip, the Nantahala Outdoor Center is very close, all things Fontana, too. For a single or small group looking for nice, no-frills lodging, this cabin should be considered.

My two friends and I rented this cabin for a long weekend of exploring the surrounding area (Nantahala National Forest , Appalachian Trail, etc.). It was easy to find, and although located on a steep and winding mountain road, quite easy to get to as well. The cabin itself is as adorable as can be and had everything we needed for our stay. We were able to make the majority of our meals on the grill, and spent the bulk of most evenings enjoying the view from the screened-in porch. Inside, there are two ceiling-mounted fans and two small heaters, so the temperature can be easily adjusted for comfort, and the bathroom has a nice heat lamp to knock off the chill when getting out of the shower (which had plenty of hot water, by the way). They've also stocked some board games and magazines in case you find yourself needing something to fill the time, and a drawer full of maps to help navigate the area-- all of which came in handy at times. We had such a great time here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something similar!
