Beautiful location! We loved our stay at the cabin and enjoyed the hottub, river and nearby hikes. We even saw a coyote on the river bed and an eagle hanging out in the tree right by the hottub. The place was very clean and cozy. Will definitely stay again!

Just Five? This Cabin Deserves A Galaxy Full of Stars

    Reviewed by: JAEL on

To stay in this space is to experience the Holy Grail of Hygge. It is the most superlatively well-designed, inviting, and relaxing home I have ever visited in my many, many years of cozy cabin excursions. We visited during a heavy snowstorm in mid-February. Snow blanketed the entire landscape. The play between the rich, warm wooden textures inside and the crisp, pillowy snow outside made for a contrast so cinematic it was hard to believe this was happening in real life and not through elaborate movie magic. The layout of the house is very unique in the best possible way. It exemplifies principles of good design in both it's feng-shui flow and its minimal (but very heartfelt) decorations and works of art.How the space is separated into spheres of influence - cooking, dining, relaxing, reading, and sleeping - could not be more comfortable or more cohesive. It is an inspiration just to move through this house and see how much intent has been put into creating Balance. There is no clutter and every piece of art and furniture has exactly the right of negative space to frame it perfectly. The view and proximity to the Skykomish River are a major advantage of this house over all others. Osprey and eagles soar over the river in the mornings looking for breakfast. The mountains behind the river are endlessly enchanting to stare at day or night.Sit in this hot tub on a clear night and stare upwards to behold a breathtaking view of the depth of the cosmos. The air flowing down the valley and the sound of the river water across the rocks combined with the warmth of the tub is the pinnacle of oceanic relaxation. The house is in a neighborhood however there is plenty of privacy on both sides. The kitchen and bathroom are very dialed in and well equipped. We hardly ever left (mostly because it was unbelievably beautiful in the snow) but if you do need anything a grocery store is less than 10 minutes away.My only regret is that we could not stay longer. I recommend not teasing yourself by staying merely 2-3 nights but to try to spend as much time as you possibly can here. Once you burrow in to this cozy space you will not want to leave.

This place was nice and cozy for our group of 6. The hot tub was nice but def smaller than the one represented in the photos. You can fit 6 but its more comfortable for 4 people. The fireplace was nice and great for cozy evenings playing board games. Kitchen was fully stocked with pans and cooking utensils.

The cabin is lovely, quiet, and homey with a stunning view of the river and natural scenery abounds. The common areas are spacious and inviting, a wealth of dishes, coffee cups, and pots and pans were available for all our needs. The Evolve team were very helpful and communicative, lending to an outstanding experience for a weekend away from the city.

Really great place if you want to get away from the city but not have it be too far away. We had a group of 8 of us and it slept perfectly, the hot tub was quite small for 8 (we were only able to fit 6 comfortably). The backyard was great with the river view, hot tub, and firepit. It was a bit windy for a firepit but still amazing. Our group didn't take advantage of any hikes. Living room was great for lounging, watching tv, and playing games. Dining area was a little tight but still fit everybody comfortably. Would recommend.

    Perfect family Get Away

Reviewed by: Amy and Chad C. on

We had a great time at this cabin. The houses next door are relatively close but the cabin feels very remote. The view of the river is awesome, with easy access to the river. Was surprised by the wildlife. There is a bald eagle nest in a tree that faces the river, perfect view from the hot tub. We saw many humming birds and a woodpecker as we were leaving. The cabin had a good layout and kitchen had everything we needed. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the cabin, it could be an incredible rental if it was cleaned properly. It was like the maid service didn't even try. Even with that we will definitely stay again. Hopefully that gets addressed.

Amy & Chad, thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience. We love hearing that your family had a wonderful time and appreciated the views. We were unaware you encountered any issues with the condition of the cabin and would have appreciated the opportunity to make things right. The cleaning company has been informed of your feedback and they have addressed your comments with their staff. They would like to share that had they been contacted during your stay, every effort to rectify any issues would have been made, as they pride themselves on creating enjoyable vacations for those properties they service. Not as described- would NOT stay again

we traveled to WA to meet with family that we had not seen in a couple of years. We rented this cabin because the pics and online reviews looked good. We were traveling at end of July 2018. However when we got there- the property had not been kept up. We had a nice family time. However, we were disappointed with the property. 1. The grass on the right side yard was dead and not matching pictures so not usable for our small grandson to play in the area. 2. Very large weeds to be cleared in front of the river, near impossible to get to river from property 3. Bed on ground floor is broken and not able to sleep in, our son had to sleep on the couch. 4. Towels smell bad and not fresh. They smelled like cooking oil. They are worn and in my opinion should be replaced 5. The hand soap is not usable and smells like oil as well. 6. 2nd floor bedrooms have no ventilation/air or fans and are very warm and difficult to sleep in because they are so warm. We feel that the price and description of the property is higher than the quality of the home that was offered. We contacted the owner and the management company Evolve. Both were not willing to provide resolution. We will not stay at this cabin- nor with this management company again. If I were you- I would not either- if there is an issue they are not willing to take care of it. Thank you-

    Manager's Response:
Dawn, we welcome and appreciate constructive feedback, however, we and the homeowner do not believe this feedback is warranted.

Based on our understanding, the homeowner went out of their way to accommodate you to include your early arrival request to the property but did not hear about any of your issues that arose during your stay until after check-out. It is difficult to rectify an issue without any communication from you, as the tenant.

Here at Evolve we always encourage guests to reach out to the local contacts while they are in residence. In this case, the cleaning company would have been able to assist you while you were in residence and provide additional assistance. For example: The local contact would have gladly brought over a fan immediately if one was requested to add to your comfort. Both second-floor bedrooms have windows that open to help with air circulation. This cabin is not advertised as having air conditioning, and we were in the hottest time of the year. During droughts and times of water conservation, it is unreasonable for guests to expect that the grass be fully green. We also note in this listing that this cabin has a river view, not access to the river. However, there is a rock path and it is quite easy to access the river if someone desires. Many of the past residents have used this path for exploring and fishing access. We understand the bed in question had a few slats that were askew, this was fixed in less than a minute. The towels are new, and if tenants didn’t enjoy the homemade organic handsoap, there were other store bought brands in each cabinet.

The local contact does a meticulous job ensuring this property is 100% guest ready. Here at Evolve, we take feedback seriously and did all we could to ensure this guest had a pleasant stay, and we regret if we were unable to come to an agreeable solution. We made several attempts to contact this tenant, to establish some type of solution, but no response from her except through an email. In our opinion, the refund this guest requested just couldn’t be justified as there was no communication during her stay requesting any help for resolution.

Again, any type of communication to address these issues would have been handled immediately. The homeowner and Evolve would have made some sort of an adjustment if these complaints were warranted. With this explanation, we are confident future guests will have exceptional stays at this cabin! Best, the Evolve Team

Our stay at this riverfront cabin completely met our expectations. The location is great because you can get there quickly, but still feel far away from it all. The rental is more than adequately appointed and cared for--it feels like a place that is well loved and filled with great memories. Meg was helpful and accommodating. Our only disappointment was, due to the crazy spring rain, we never did get to enjoy the fire pit. It just means we'll be back again!

Gosh where do I begin? The owners were quick to respond to my inquiries, informed me about activities to do around the area, kept me updated on the status of things like the gas and hot tub, the cabin itself is adorable, clean, and well-equipped -- I could go on forever! To be more specific, I really appreciated that there were so many extra towels, lots of cooking utensils and other kitchen supplies, there was a coffee maker, a blender -- basically everything you'd need for your stay! The fire pit was great and there was a lot of seating available, the hot tub was brand new when we got there, and my gosh that view??? Super!!! (Also the 2 bald eagles were nesting while we were there and they were so gorgeous to look at from the hot tub!!!) It's such a great place and completely worth the price. My friends and I are definitely coming back in the future! I'm so, so, so glad for this place and the wonderful memories it's given me. I am nothing but thankful to the owners for allowing us into this fantastic space. I hope future visitors will have as much fun as we did!
