The cabin was very nice and well equipped. Nice view and we had snow our first morning. The only negative is the driveway. Our Tacoma pickup made it up but a regular car may have a some trouble. I'm glad we didn't bring the car. The road up is one lane but we never had a problem with it. Driveway is why the low rating for location. The cabin is only minutes from town.

    Hello Fall!

    Reviewed by: Kelli F. on

Here in the South we've been experiencing a heatwave/drought for several weeks without relief. The day we arrived at this gem of a cabin the temperature tumbled and Fall arrived. That was the icing on the cake for our stay. The cabin was well-appointed with anything you could possibly need while away on vacation. There was plenty of room for me and my husband, our ten-year-old son, and our two Labradoodles. The cabin was spotless and pleasantly decorated with spectacular views. I wish we could've stayed longer. The area is not loaded with tourists, is quaint, and laid back. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature and all its beauty with your family and fur babies then this is the place.

Loved having the covered deck to enjoy even when raining and open deck for sunny days. Great variety of birds and butterflies surrounding property. The location was convenient to many sites and shopping. We had a wonderful stay!

Lovely vacation rental. While having our morning coffee, we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds as well as the rabbits. We also saw some beautiful elk grazing in a meadow as we drove out to the main road. The only negative thing was the short span of gravel road leading up to the house as well as the entrance to the driveway needs some maintenance.

This place was "just right" for our group. We each had our own area and our own bathroom. Beds were very comfortable and the showers were great. Clean and wonderfully decorated, we loved staying here. Even the so-called weak spot of parking in the driveway provided some hilarious moments. Wouldn't even think twice about staying here again.

A group of us rented this cabin for a work retreat. The views from inside and outside the cabin were beautiful and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds on the porch and walking up the street to the waterfall. The cabin was close to the center of Maggie Valley and had excellent cell service and wifi, giving us everything we needed for work and easy access to restaurants. Each of us had a small car and although the steep gravel road was fine, the driveway was difficult. We didn't end up leaving the cabin much so it was not a major problem. We enjoyed our stay.

It was an easy drive into the cabin and the porch view was lovely. You can see the cabin above from the back of the cabin, but not from the front porch where we spent our time. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable. We love the town of Maggie Valley and visit often.

Nice 3 bedroom cabin with plenty of room. The loft master bedroom is unique and we enjoyed it, just a shower upstairs but with two full baths downstairs we all had plenty of space. Washer, dryer, TV and internet worked flawlessly. Internet speed was very good for mountain cabins. The driveway is a little challenging, but take the owners advice and drive up the hill and turn around and enter the driveway from the uphill side and it’s a piece of cake. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

We cannot say enough good things about this property and it's owner Michael! Our family took a leap of faith this year and spent our first Christmas away from home from Florida to experience a "White Christmas". The cabin is in a beautiful location with fantastic mountain views! We were very touched by the Holiday decorations around the cabin for us to enjoy. The owners obviously take many small details into consideration for their guests! The cabin has lots of room, three full baths and a kitchen well equipped with everything you could ever need! We hiked to waterfalls, went skiing at Catalootchie, snow tubing in Maggie Valley and visited Waynesville and Asheville (all within a relatively short drive from the cabin!). The information book located in the cabin had many helpful suggestions for shopping, dining and things to do in the area! These owners definitely provided us with a great place to stay for our vacation! Thank you again! We will be back! The Dowd & Marquis families

The internet,at the cabin, and our Verizon phone connection work well from this cabin site. We enjoyed the Webber grill. King size bed in loft area was comfortable; a full bath in the loft area. There were two bed rooms, on the main floor, with queen beds and full bath rooms. Kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, mugs, cookware and utensils. We had a nice, relaxing visit to the Maggie Valley. Hidden Cove Rd. is somewhat hidden and is located 1.3 miles from intersection at US 19 and Black Camp Gap Road. Hidden Cove Rd. Beautiful and spacious cabin with everything you need. Loved sitting on the wrap around porch listening to the birds. The cabin is not only well stocked but clean and well kept. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was because of the driveway. It took us a few times to learn to navigate it successfully. We also had trouble finding it the first night because house number on welcome sign did not stand out. Illumination would be helpful.

It was perfect place to spend with my 2 adult children and their spouses. What a nice family get together. So roomy and beautiful. The view is gorgeous also. Word of warning about the road getting up to the cabin and the sharp, steep turn into the drive is a little rough but doable. The road has some ruts and if you don't keep a steady pace you soon out. We went past the drive and backed up into the drive. Seemed easier for the non 4 wheel drive vehicles. Go wide when leaving and do a five points turn Into the road to do your vehicle a favor. I would stay here again and it is so worth it!

This cabin is beautiful inside and out. The views are very good. The draw back to this place is the driveway or it would have 5 stars. I certainly wouldn't do this in the winter and I had difficulty negotiating it in March with a truck. The cabin and deck couldn't be better. We really enjoyed our stay. It is nice that it is located away from the city and awards scenic views. We even had a rainbow across the valley. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We would certainly return.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cabin - it was very clean, we enjoyed the beautiful fireplace, the covered porch with the sound of the rushing river, and the large windows in the living room. The cabin was well appointed, the beds were very comfortable, and it was convenient to have three full bathrooms. I gave it four stars because the view is fair and privacy could be limited as there are several cabins in close proximity. That being said, the other cabins were empty when we were there so this was not an issue for us. Additionally, it is likely more private in the summer when the trees have leaves on them (some pictures of the cabin in the summer would confirm this). I highly recommend this cabin, it is clean, comfortable, well maintained and the living room with it's stone fireplace and floor to ceiling windows is lovely. The sound of the river from the covered porch is amazing. The owner was extremely responsive and replied immediately to any questions we had. The TV and wireless internet connectivity was excellent. We're native Californians but now live in Savannah, GA where there are no mountains or hills whatsoever and everything looks the same. For my birthday, I wanted to go somewhere with mountains and diversity in the topography. After looking at numerous properties online, we selected this cabin because the pictures showed beautiful scenery, the cabin looked nice and seemed to have everything we were looking for. Previous reviewers had mentioned the steep driveway so we were aware of it ahead of time and took our Ram 1500 up there. We were thankful there was no snow as it was a little challenging pulling up the driveway even in good weather. The cabin was beautiful and just as described in the listing. It was clean and well-maintained and had everything we needed for a short couples trip with our close friends. We were very comfortable during our stay there and would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wanting to get away from the city. Just from our pictures that we posted on Facebook, we've had many friends asking about how they could rent it also. We definitely plan on returning when we have more than just a few days so we can explore the area a little more.
