Because this home is located on the warmer, private side of Lake Anna with access designated only for property owners, you'll enjoy much less boat traffic creating an ideal environment for water skiing, wakeboarding and wake surfing on the calm, clean waters. Other favorite lake activities include fishing, swimming, tubing, kayaking, paddleboarding, floating and more. Before a day of boating, make sure to have a full tank and stock up on gas at the convenience store 4 miles away as this private side of the lake doesn't include marinas with gas pumps.

The Lake Anna community has grown in the recent years and now has numerous great restaurants to try during your stay. Enjoy a quick drive to the Lake Anna Winery or Coyote Hole Cider Distillery for a unique tasting experience, or travel to Lake Anna State Park for a day of hiking, site-seeing and more!

This property lies about 45 miles to Richmond, home of the Virginia Museum of Fine arts and Richmond Raceway. Head about an hour to Skyline Drive or Shenandoah National Park for further outdoor recreation. Other nearby sites to consider during your stay include Kings Dominion Theme Park, Busch Gardens Theme Park, Colonial Williamsburg, Fredericksburg Battlefields and Monticello in Charlottesville.

    We’ve been doing August family lake house vacations for six years and everyone agrees: “This was our best one yet!”

    The house was amazing. Very clean and well stocked with living items, such as plates/silverware, pots and pans, propane for grille, gas for boat, kayaks and paddle boards, and wood for fire pit. Also, the second large refrigerator/freezer was convenient and extremely valuable when you’ve got food for 12 people (8 adults, 4 kids).

    The location in a quiet area of the lake was great. Can't overstate the serenity of the private side & warm lake water! We spent many hours playing, fishing, floating, and relaxing on the spacious, well-furnished dock. Loved the refrigerator on the dock too!

    The zero-entry beach perfect for the kids playing and getting the kayaks/paddle boards into and out of the lake and the yard excellent for our “Olympic games.” For downtime, having TVs in every room was great. Also appreciated the games and ping pong table outside.

    While the listing said the Internet may not be what we’re used to in our suburban home, it was solid and supported all our devices. Only one glitch, for some reason we weren’t able to put our Sonos on network.

    The best confirmation as to how much we loved this house is that we rarely left it. Other than a trip to church, pizza & grocery store, and the State Park for hike & lunch, we were very happy to enjoy our time at the house on the lake. I think it’s safe to say that we’ll be looking to go back someday!

  • A Wonderful Lake Life Retreat

    From the moment we booked this vacation home, the owner was a tremendous help with everything....and that continued through the week of our stay. The house setup is amazing for large families with open concepts both upstairs and downstairs to gather. The kitchen was fully stocked and has the largest island I have ever seen. There was plenty of everything for our group of 16. The dock was amazing....plenty of room, sun and shade, TV/music, tables/chairs for meals/games, fishing rod holders, beautiful peaceful lake with minimal boat traffic. We spent hours just floating in the lake. They also provide a wonderful "honor system" service of gas for the boat we brought with us. We were able to fill up several times right at the dock and at the end of the week we filled up the gas cans at the local gas station. The owner provided canoes, kayaks, paddleboard for guest use. We highly recommend this house and these owners to work with for your rentals in the future. This house is located on the private side of the lake which comes with so many advantages.
