The condo was exactly like the pictures. The view was amazing and the beach was private so not a ton of people. The property manager was great to deal with and followed up even after our visit. Would love to come back someday.

    Clean and Comfortable Beach Condo

Overall my family was very happy during our stay at this property. The rooms and bathrooms are clean. Apartment has basic kitchen and bathroom appliances, plateware and silverware. Bedroom tv has good channel selection. Shower pressure is strong, good for washing off sand! Balcony storage has some sand toys for kids and a folding chair. Nice ocean view from balcony and short boardwalk down to the beach. The building seems a little outdated, but it is well kept and maintained. There is a bit of a drive (15 minutes) to the closest store. You may need to bring dish soap and hand soap as only a small amount is provided upon arrival. You may also want to bring condiments such as salt/pepper, mustard and ketchup. I am happy I chose this property as it is well worth the price, owner is friendly and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend!

Close to the beach but it?s about 20 miles to a nearby town. There is a small over priced convenience store about a mile down the road. The unit was nice but there were no hot pads and we had to use towels and wash cloths to take things out of the oven. There are way too many mirrors and was hard on my self esteem. Overall it was nice.

Smaller than it looks on the picture in the pictures, and outdated. A couple cockroaches. The Jacuzzi was out of order which was disappointing. Overall the unit was OK but definitely not worth the price. They charge a huge cleaning fee yet they expected us to do half of that cleaning at check out. The cleaning lady came a half hour before our checkout time and we felt rushed.

    Manager's Response:
Rachel, thanks so much for your review. The owner of this condo has asked us to pass along the following response:

"Dear Rachel, we regret your stay wasn't as enjoyable as expected. Our condo is approximately 750 sq. ft. in size. It is contracted with a pest exterminator. We will request he make an additional spraying before his next scheduled service. We are not sure why the jacuzzi was out of service, but there are additional jacuzzis located outside by the pools and by the indoor saltwater pool. Checkout is at 10:00 AM and after consulting with housekeeping, they said they didn't try to enter the condo until shortly after 10:00. Housekeeping does request that the trash be taken out, beds stripped and dishes be placed in the dishwasher and turned on upon departure. This has become a common request in the hospitality industry for condominiums.

Again, sorry your visit wasn't better. We strive to make your stay a clean, comfortable stay with some of the best amenities for a resort into the Gulf Shores area (boardwalk to the beach, a restaurant on site, Kiva Dunes Golf Course, basketball court, 5 tennis courts, shuffleboards and nice views from the balcony)."

Our stay at Plantation Dunes was just what we needed to relax and enjoy ourselves. The complex is very clean and well taken care of by staff. The saltwater pool, the hot tubs, laundry area, and convenience of having a small restaurant on site makes it very accommodating.

    Room with a spectacular view.

The condo was a little smaller than we imagined it, but it worked for us. There were four of us and we all loved the condo, especially the view from the balcony, which one or more of us visited every day. I liked that the bedrooms were on different sides, which gave each couple plenty of privacy. Being on the fifth floor, we could see all the way to the beach and out on the gulf from the balcony, the sofa or the recliner. We did have some issues, but I am happy to say the manager was very responsive and went out of his way to resolve them. We would rent this condo again.

Great condo with lots to do on the property

    Reviewed by: Lisa C. on

We had a very nice stay at this condo. It was clean and had everything we needed. We visited in March so the weather was too cold to swim in the gulf, so having the indoor pool was really nice. There?s a boardwalk to the beach so you won?t need to drive to the beach. You can easily see the beach from the living room, bedroom and balcony, which is really relaxing. There?s a washer and dryer on the first floor, not in the condo. The restaurant attached to the condo was delicious. The bigger restaurants, bars, and grocery stores were about a 15 minute drive but not a bad drive. We?d stay at this condo complex again.
