    Family reunion at the Ranch

    Reviewed by: Joan O. on

Horse Thief Ranch was over the top! Our family had a birthday party for our 95 year old matriarch at this amazing property. Guests ranged from 95 to 5 and all enjoyed the venue. Myrtle the tortoise was a huge hit! The outdoor kitchen was perfect! Other family members rented the casitas and guest house so they could participate and also have privacy. So many extras including a very popular massage chair, outdoor spa and treadmill pool that our lap swimmers enjoyed. Many enjoyed a morning run along the trail which runs behind the property. Others used the bikes and visited the emus down the street. A fabulous find!

We rented the main house and all 4 casitas while in Tucson for my son's wedding. We ended up holding his rehearsal dinner on the grounds. Everyone loved the place! It is an amazing house for hosting a large group of people such as a wedding, workshop, etc. Keith and Kendra were extremely competent and pleasant. They are great rental home owners!

    Great house and perfect location

We were a group of 8 spending a week in Tucson for a bike training camp. This house had everything we needed: a ton of space, great kitchen and dinning area for a large group. The outdoor space is also very well put together. The house is also well located, close to Mt Lemmon, Sabino Park, Saguaro Park, etc. Couple of small hiccups with the pool and outside grill during our stay but the owners were quick to address after we contacted them. Would recommend it in a heartbeat

6 of us came to Tucson for a week of golf. Horse Thief Ranch was our home away from home, and it’s better than our real homes! Everything one could possibly want is here in this rambling, beautifully furnished 5 bedroom ranch home. Huge top of the line TV’s, fast internet, delightful hot tub, every known kitchen accessory, comfortable beds, a huge, highly functional living room (plus another one nobody ever goes into) and the greatest master suite I’ve ever stayed in. You’ll never find a more charming home.

This home and casitas are wonderful and are as good if not better than advertised. We rented the entire property for our use with family and friends who were in town to attend a wedding. Everyone kept asking me how I found this property and how wonderful it was. The home is very well equipped and furnished. Everything is in great condition and the owners are very helpful. The grounds surrounding the homes is very spacious and well maintained with a variety of different seating areas. There is also a large well-maintained BBQ and whirlpool. While the grounds are shared by the occupants of all of the buildings, this should not be a problem due to the size of the grounds. The neighborhood is quiet and yet is convenient to shopping, hiking, biking and to attractions on the east side of town. One thing that was not clear for us in the description was the location of the casitas. There are three casitas. ?A?, ?B? and ?C?. They are attached to the main home, but all have separate entrances. All have a bedroom separate from the living area, are well equipped with a complete kitchen and are perfect for a couple. They also have roll out beds. The fourth building is the guest house. It is a separate building and a little larger than the casitas. I don?t know of any better compliment than that everyone in our party wants to return next year and to stay here again.

Would highly recommend it for a large gatherings and they also have several smaller casitas if you only need one bedroom.

17 Family and friends celebrating a UofA graduation. Plenty of room for everyone with a great covered patio for morning coffee and book or conversation. Large hot tub. Large bedroom off the kitchen with two beds was quiet and perfect for a family with kids or in our case two 85 year olds. Yard was lovely with lots of seating and bbq setup and festive touches. The owners were very nice and Myrtle the tortoise was fun to watch. The dog set up was perfect and totally fenced for safety. The kitchen was set up for cooking and we had several discriminating cooks who were very impressed. Plenty of nice linens, cable TVs in each bedroom plus family room WiFi worked great. Safeway close by and we ordered from Tucson Tamales next to Safeway the first night due to the long drive and everyone loved the tamales. We had some for appetizers the third night. Our group has rented large homes all over the world and this was one of the best ever for all the different ages and number of people. The ladies enjoyed very early am hikes along the pathway by the riverbed to the bridge and back is about 8m steps. The men spent lots of time trading off in the fabulous massage chair. Also highly recommend VIVACE Italian restaurant for dinner. Fabulous food and service for a large party. The decor is lovely inside or on the patio. We cannot say enough good things about our visit to the Ranch. The main house was great with very nice decor and each Casita is set up as it?s own unit so plenty of privacy. Thank you for a wonder get away where we could relax and enjoy each other and our happy graduate!

The house was in good shape, clean and kitchen was well stocked for cooking and baking. The open concept made it easy for all of to convene, eat meals together and just enjoy each there company. Shopping was close by to stock the pantry. The casitas were a little confusing, might have rented a and c for easier access to main house instead of b and c if it was explained a little better. We totally enjoyed the hot tub, campfires in the evenining wth s'mores. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. Laundry was essential and convenient for our family with small children.

I already know that this is the house I want to be in again next year when my friends and I gather for the gem show. Even though it was a bit of a drive everyday for our daily shopping trips to the various show locations, about 30 min, it was worth it. The peace of the foothills, the security of the property, and the most thoughtful additions made this rental perfect for us. We used all five bedrooms which was so nice for everyone to have their own private space. The kitchen and family room are so open and comfortable and we spent most of our time there, cooking big meals with every kitchen gadget available, every dish, nothing prevented us from our goal of just enjoying every second with each other. There are other small rentals on the property but we were never bothered by it, never saw anyone. There is plenty of parking, the backyard was great with a large fire pit that we used every night, big stacks of wood were available. The hot tub is AMAZING, always hot for a quick soak. BBQ is great... the house was just wonderful. The best part though is the beds. I was in the master and I can never be happy with anything less than what they have. I have never slept better and I have already shopped for the same temperpedic, adjustable, MASSAGING mattress. It may have heating too.... oh and the master shower has fancy dual rain shower head and additional 8 shower heads and a huge bubbly bathtub. HEAVEN. We had a really great time in this home, lots of memories were made and we left rested and happy :)
