The house was specially prepared for a Thanksgiving celebration. It was not only clean and welcoming, it provided all cooking and serving needs. The ample bedrooms were comfortable and private. The large windows let us experience the natural beauty of rain on a lake while we remained warm and dry. Thank you for the perfect family retreat for Thanksgiving.

Four of my best girlfriends and myself spent a weekend enjoying all this property has to offer! We had the best weekend we could have imagined. The property was clean and very spacious- needs a little updating in places and the rope lights on the patio did not work at all (save for a 12” section). But the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean and the lake could not have been better! Great location and super quiet! Everything we wanted and more for a laid back weekend. Might suggest a keurig though.

Nice property, relaxing & clean. Spacious (although there were only two of us), could easily sleep many. Easy to get too, great service. Would definitely book again. One thing to note, if you're bringing your dogs, just know that there are a few off-leash, free range neighborhood dogs (no problems for us, just something to be aware of)!

    Lake house

    Reviewed by: Esther G. on

    Comment:

The house is located on a small channel off the main lake. The neighborhood is a bit of a mix with a couple of houses next door that are in poor condition. The exterior of the home is okay. The outside deck around the home is covered in green mold in the shady areas. There?s an umbrella outside but it is torn.? and faded. Inside, the home is adequately furnished. Living room furnishings and television were great. Master bedroom - the bed is extremely uncomfortable. The room is dark and lacks adequate lighting - thankfully there were a lot of shaded windows we could open to get sunlight in. There is also a smell to the master bedroom that we could not get rid of. The master bathroom is also very dark - shower was okay. The upstairs bedrooms were nicer and more comfortable. The kitchen was functional. The cooking utensils were very cheap and bent. Really could not use them without having them bend at the slightest pressure. We rented the pontoon boat and had fun on the lake for two of the days we were there. The property manager explained the use of the boat and it was easy to operate. The property manager did sweep the boat free of cobwebs as there were a lot of spiders and webs on the boat and all around the house. Once we got on the boat on the first day - it wasn't long before we noticed spiders crawling everywhere. That was pretty scary - one of the kids killed one they saw crawling on my neck. One of the rules for renting the boat is you have to refuel it when you?re done using it. The first days rental of the boat was on a Sunday and there are a couple of marinas that sell gas right on the lake so it was easy. The second time we rented the boat was a Tuesday. This time, we headed back in around 3:15 pm and Greg Orr Marina was closed! There?s no gas gauge on the boat so you have to open the hatch to look at the tank. Not the best way to figure out how much gas you have. I called the property manager and asked if he had gas cans that I could fill and refuel the boat and he brought me two 5 gallon cans. We got the fuel but could not figure out how to open the fuel cap. Called the manager and no answer and no way to leave message. His phone said ?the subscriber was unavailable?. I could not refuel the boat until the next day when I called again. He came and showed me how to open the cap. He said I'd offer to help but I have someone waiting on me?. It was a big struggle for me to refuel it. Over all ok but we won't return

    Manager's Response:
Esther, thank you for your review. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:

"Thank you for your review. We have taken immediate action to address your concerns. First, we have hired a new on-site Property Manager. His name is Richard and he will be reaching out to you soon. His first order of business was to conduct a thorough inspection of the premises and create a checklist for corrective action based on his inspection and your review. To date, we have replaced the broken umbrellas, relocated the upper deck patio set, power washed the exterior, and performed a deep cleaning of the interior. Additionally, the mattress has been upgraded and we've also added a topper to ensure guest comfort. The lightswitch does operate as a dimmer, and we've labeled that so it is more clear for our future guests. Finally, we've assigned a Boat Captain to maintain the party barge at an ultimate level. The Boat Captain will inspect and prepare the vessel one-hour prior to use. Our goal is to become the No. 1 Vacation Home Destination for the Hot Springs area. Our service, pricing, hospitality, and amenities demand it and I know we can do it. Thank you again for staying with us and we hope to host you again in the future."

The property was not clean. It is in need of lots of repairs structurally . It is lake property but did not lind to easy boating or other lake activities. It was obvious that no one spends anytime outside b/c spiders had completely taken over the deck area and leaves where caked up flooring of the deck.

    Manager's Response:
Kelly, thank you for your review. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:

"Our team strives to make your stay at Lakefront Retreat enjoyable. Our on-site management is available 24/7 to resolve any complaints. We regret that you did not like the amenities provided, however, no issues were reported during your stay.

Regarding your cleanliness concerns, all bedding and towels are washed after each checkout and before each check-in. All floors are swept, vacuumed and mopped and everything gets sanitized before each guest arrives. Since your stay, we have addressed the spiderwebs and the leaves on the deck, and we're confident that issue has been completely resolved. Once again I apologize for the inconvenience. In the future, we will provide contact info for housekeeping in our Welcome Letter if you require additional housekeeping services, and they will be more than happy to come re-clean the home.

With regards to lake access, a boating ramp is available to you approximately 100 yards from the lakehouse with direct access to Lake Hamilton or you may rent the pontoon boat located at the dock of the home.

Please give us the opportunity to welcome you again to Lakefront Retreat and put our best practice to work."

? We had difficulty contacting the on-site manager both prior to and during our stay. The floors were dirty and the vacuum cleaner was broken. One of the burners on the stove did not work. No off street parking and the street parking was very steep and narrow. If you are interested in renting the pontoon boat, beware! There is no insurance provided. You will not be able to get insurance to cover damages to the boat and this was not revealed until three days prior to the trip. Thankfully, our money was refunded for the boat.

The home was nice, however, the picture was somewhat misleading as the home sits on a little cove not on the main body of water. Patio furniture needed to be replaced because it was rotten and falling part. I vacuumed the AC intake vent inside as it was covered in dust. .The host was very nice and accommodating. For the most part, the home provided what we needed for our stay there, wish it had been closer to town.

    Honeymoon to Remember

    Reviewed by: Anonymous on

    Comment:

My wife and I had our honeymoon at this luxurious three-bedroom, two bathroom lakefront property. The house is situated in a rural area that is truly serene, but not too far from all the great things that Hot Springs, Ark. has to offer within the city limits. With three levels, this house has plenty of room for a couple or a whole family to enjoy. When we walked in, we were greeted by a nice kitchen with an island great for preparing meals. It had all the appliances - dishwasher, range, microwave, and of course COFFEE MAKER - that we needed, as well as dishes and silverware. The open floor plan led right into a spacious living room with a fireplace.

The master bedroom and bathroom are on the first level with the living room and kitchen. The bathroom is resort-style and includes a sink, commode and bidet. For convenience, you can access the bathroom from both the front walkway and from the master bedroom. The next area has a mosaic tile shower with a large shower head. There were also plenty of towels. Connecting the bedroom and the bathroom was a very nice-sized walk-in closet.

The master leads right out onto a patio by beautiful French doors. We ate breakfast and lunch out on one of two outdoor tables. More doors off the living room also lead out onto the patio. I could see this being a great space to entertain. The patio provides a truly picturesque view of the lake, complete with cattle and geese. Again, this property is right on the lake, so next time, we will bring a small boat to enjoy the water.

The property has very nice and modern amenities. First, the house uses a numeric keypad for security. Then there was an Amazon Alexa in both the bedroom and the living room. We could play music, ask the time or the weather and a whole lot of other useful things. There are flat screen televisions in the living room and bedroom. The basement level provides another access point to the lake and comes with a washer and dryer.

The owner has a keen eye for detail: quality wooden blinds, home interior style furnishings, and modern finishes. The owner was also very gracious and was always a phone call or text away. All in all, our honeymoon stay at this beautiful home was better than anything we could have ever imagined.
