grand total: From $290 total Per Night

Begin your Grand Lake getaway at ‘Woody’s Bunkhouse,’ a pet friendly 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom vacation rental cabin with a compelling story and 1,000 square feet to tell the tale. See how this high-end home earned its name as you soak up the southern sun exposure from your private, covered deck or lounge inside the newly constructed living space that sleeps 7. Situated in the heart of town only 2 blocks from the marina, this cabin is only a stone’s throw away from the many splendors of Grand Lake!

    -- THE PROPERTY --

Master Bedroom: King Bed | Bedroom 2: Queen Bed | Bedroom 3: Twin-over-Full Bunk Bed

‘Woody’s Bunkhouse’ tells the story of a horseless cowboy named Woody and his best bud, Woody the dog. The duo discovered a passion for the lake life over the rodeo scene and built a beautiful bunkhouse only 2 blocks from the lake and a short stroll from town.

Spend a morning on the shores of Grand Lake or the streets of downtown before a relaxing, at-home afternoon on your covered deck offering southern sun exposure and unobstructed mountain views.

The cabin’s interior boasts an upscale feel with rustic, mountain-town vibes. Incredible woodwork and craftsmanship is featured throughout, along with eclectic and southwest-inspired accents, custom-built storage spaces and high ceilings.

After a wild ride on the water or nearby trails, wind down in front of the gas fireplace in the living area. Kick back and relax on the large sectional sofa by the 60-inch flat-screen Smart TV while a homemade meal is prepared in the fully equipped kitchen.

Outfitted with barnwood cabinets, state-of-the-art appliances and a marble-topped island with bar seating for 2, the kitchen is primed to handle all of your culinary needs. Enjoy a family dinner in the dining nook highlighted by a classic wood table and ample bench seating.

When you’re ready to call it a night, retire to the master bedroom, offering a king bed and en-suite bathroom, or the second bedroom with a queen bed. The third bedroom combines rustic wood furnishings with Old West-themed decor to perfectly capture the essence of ‘Woody’s Bunkhouse.’

    -- THE LOCATION --

This cozy cabin is within walking distance to just about everything Grand Lake has to offer. Walk 2 blocks down to the lake to rent a canoe or kayak from Grand Lake Marina and, afterwards, stroll into town to treat your group to a meal at Sagebrush BBQ & Grill or find your favorite comfort foods at Daven Haven Lodge, The Historic Rapids Lodge & Restaurant and Grand Lake Lodge.

While in town, be sure to stop by the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre to see what shows are in this season!

As the gateway town to Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake invites you to pursue scenic hiking trails and discover alpine lakes or cruise down Trail Ridge Road to capture the perfect picture from one of the many lookout points.

Any golfers will want to hit the links at Grand Lake Golf Course - just 5 minutes from the cabin.

Feeling lucky? Head down to the town square to play bingo! Friday and Saturday night bingo games are a must-do if you’re visiting in the summer.

The warmer season also invites arts and crafts festivals, biking, fishing, golfing, horseback riding and ATVing, while the colder months welcome a winter wonderland that is second-to-none. Known as the “Snowmobile Capital of Colorado,” Grand Lake urges you to rev up and tour the snow-packed terrain like never before!

If skiing is more your style, head 20 miles south to brush up on your skills at the family-friendly Granby Ranch, or venture a little further out to experience over 3,000 acres of award-winning runs at Winter Park Resort. Cross-country ski trails abound 5 minutes away at the Grand Lake Nordic Center. Snow tubing at the Nordic Center is also great fun for the whole family.

My husband and I had a very relaxing time in early March at the wonderful Grand Lake Cabins. We stayed at Woody's Bunkhouse which was very cozy, and technically there are three other cabins you can choose from. The Cabins are just one block from the main street and then one more to the lake. It was very enchanting to be there in Winter time as it is less than a 5 minute drive to Rocky Mountain National Park where we went daily for cross country skiing. We enjoyed coming back to the cabin afterwards to relax in front of the fireplace. The cabin is fully equipped and the kitchen invites cooking. The rooms were very nicely decorated and spacious and perfect for a family or a reunion with friends. We were only two, but four adults and two kids could have comfortably fit. There is a garage with space for one car, and more space in the driveway. If it snows, there is even a guy who comes and cleans the driveway. Nice hot showers, a large TV with netflix, a gas fireplace, a functioning kitchen with cooking supplies, what more could you need? There is so much to do in winter as well as in summer and we would love to come back for another stay.

This place is awesome. It’s very cute inside. Great amenities if you plan to cook or get ready for an event (or, for family gatherings). We stayed here for our wedding week and the bride got ready with all of the girls here. It was spacious enough to make that happen. We also hosted our family one night for dinner with plenty of room to socialize. Amy Gibson who takes care of the property was awesome. Super responsive and friendly. I will just point out while we were there the septic tank was having issues. It was leaking and creating pools of liquid in the front yard. Hard to notice but it was happening none the less. I am sure it will get taken care of immediately. All and all a fabulous stay!

    Great location, great cabin!!

The cabin was clean and exactly as described. The only thing I would add is that I saw someone mentioned no window covers in the front of the cabin (and it doesn't look like there are any in the photos), but there are front window cabins so you can get all the privacy you want! The location is central to town, an easy 5 minute walk right to the main strip. The cabin was immaculate and VERY comfortable (couch and beds!). The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook for your family. We had a great trip with our two dogs and can't wait to stay here again. Highly recommend!

Needs blinds and ask the housekeeper to check the couch

    Reviewed by: Tammy W. on

It really was nice but please add blinds for privacy in the front windows. I would have thought that was as important as the front door. Also, we weren?t aware that pets had been allowed there before and we couldn?t sit on the couch because of all the dog hair. Other than no blinds and dog hair it was good. A note to other reviewers, after October 1 you can?t rent any boats or find any restaurants open. We came for our 20 year anniversary and that made it difficult as we had not planned in that.

Tammy, thanks so much for your review. The homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:

"Thank you for your feedback. Per your recommendation, we have order blinds for the windows and we have the cleaning company doubling their efforts to make sure the place is spotless! October is a beautiful time to visit Grand Lake but it is definitely between seasons and a bit quiet."

We walked into Woody?s Bunker and I was so happy to see the location was exactly how it was listed online. The property was clean and contained anything and everything we needed for a long weekend away. It even allowed our little Golden retriever, who really is an important part of our family, to be present. Woody?s is an easy walk to restaurants and shops in Grand Lake. We visited town and enjoyed it, especially the Blue Water bakery. However, we enjoyed picking up something at the grocery to toss on the grill and pair with a bottle of wine at the end of a day of hiking. We enjoyed our visit to Woody?s so much, we extended our trip one extra day!
