    Gorgeous House!

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic getaway! We couldn?t have been more happy!!! The house is secluded but close to the highway so you can get to wherever you need within an hour to 45 minutes. The house is on an actual functioning farm but the bedrooms were incredibly clean and tidy! We can?t wait to go back!

    Fairytail Historic Stay!

    Reviewed by: Marnie R. on

AeolianHill was absolutely breathtaking. While so close to Columbia and Charleston I felt hidden from all the stress of modern day life. Relaxing on the front porch sitting in the big black rocking chairs having coffee I had a view of breathe taking cotton fields, oaks covered in resurrection fern, pecan groves and wild flowers. The care taker welcomed me like family and the accommodations were well above anything I could of expected. The house was very clean and one of the most unique beautiful historic homes I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Thank you Aeolian Hill for taking such wonderful care of me during my visit!

This beautiful historic home was amazing, very clean and the host was so wonderful to work with! My favorite part was having coffee on the front porch in one of the big rocking chairs while looking at the multitude of birds fly over the cottton fields, peacan orchard and magnolia groves. Thank you Aeolian Hill for the lovely experience.

This house was so filthy dirty! If we had been able to we would not have stayed there. But nothing else was available with a kitchen. The bathrooms were as dirty as gas station bathrooms. Human waste splattered on the toilets etc. The whole house smelled very musty. There was a thick layer of dust on everything. I think it hadn?t been swept and dusted in 10 years! Will never stay there again!

Manager's Response: Hi Susan, We were very sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your stay at this historic villa. We take these concerns seriously - cleanliness is one of our 4 Core Property Standards! The homeowner also has very high standards for their vacation home, and they immediately sent their cleaning service back to the property to ensure that everything was resolved to your satisfaction. The owner is dedicated to the maintenance of this nearly 150-year-old home and the surrounding 400 acres of pastoral gardens and landscaping, but some dust in the air is to be expected on a cotton plantation. The satisfied travelers who have chosen Aeolian Hill as the unforgettable venue for their vacations, weddings, and various private events have enjoyed the rural charm as well as the 5-star service that the homeowner is known for, but we are sorry if it is not what you were expecting. We hope that the generous measures taken by the homeowner make up for some of your disappointment, and we wish you all the best in your future travels. Best, the Evolve Team
