    Relax in the woods!

    Comment:

This is our second time staying here during winter. We love the cabin itself with all the beautiful wood everywhere. It is nicely decorated and offers so much privacy down a long road and nothing but trees around you. They have made some nice additions since we had last stayed 3 years ago. A awesome new kitchen table and dishwasher. It is well stocked with kitchen items and my only two suggestions are replacing the non-stick pans as they are pretty scratched up and the twin mattresses throughout, need to be replaced or mattress toppers added to them. Even with those issues we still enjoyed the stay greatly! Laurie was nice to work with and was available for any questions we had. We will continue to recommend this cabin as a ideal winter getaway.

It was amazing, so incredible, it was so children, dog and family friendly. We could not believe the thoughtfulness and incredible accessories to make a family stay even better. The bed rail guard, pack and play cribs, dog towels. The house itself felt so homey, we had our Thanksgving dinner there and it was something out of Home beautiful magazine. We cant wait to come back in the summer time. Everyone in the family loved it from the one year old to the 80 year old You had al the kitchen devices and more. We will make this our get away place. We plan on several stays a year. SO excited to have a new cabin that accommodates our extended family. Thank the family for us for being so generous in sharing their home with us. We cant wait to come again...

This property is awesome. We have a group of 8 that comes up to McCloud/Shasta every Fall for fishing and relaxation. This was the 6th or 7th time in 9 years we have come here to the point where become flexible with our dates to accommodate the availability! Very private and secluded, great views of Shasta and the surrounding wilderness and you can hear the creek babble as it runs through the property. Quick drive to downtown McCloud and Dunsmuir as well as close proximity to wild trout sections on the McCloud, Pit, Upper Sacramento Rivers and Hat Creek. You cant miss on this one - every bit worth the experience!

    Truly Great Place to Stay!

This house is at the end of a gravel road, it?s very private, surrounded by a beautiful forest and a meadow. It?s a gem of a location and I am already planning another stay there! The kitchen had all the necessities, and the open floor plan makes for some lively dinner preparation. The towels and linens were plentiful, and all the bathrooms are accessible without going through a bedroom. I have already recommended this house to friends and family. (One note, if you plan to prepare meals, bring a sharp knife.) There are hiking trails, the town of McCloud is very close and has numerous quaint shops, cafes and grocery stores. Mt. Shasta City is not far and had some great shops and restaurants. This house and location gets an A+ from me!

Very nice property, comfortable for 3 couples although the stairs might be an issue for some. Only negative was an uncleaned barbeque on arrival with no briquets. They easily could have said" bring your own". Our stay was during the I-5 closure because of Delta fire and we were a little nervous because of the proximity and smoke but had a nice time anyway.

July is a great month to see Mt Shasta, Castle lake, Lake Siskiyou, McCloud Falls, The rail trail and the many hikes/bike trails that are nearby to this location. We never drove further than 15-20 minutes to access these renowned wildlife areas. We stayed the week of July 4th-three families slept quite comfortably. Two Queen beds, several single beds and a bunk bed.

    Nice place

    Comment:

This was a very nice VRBO. It seems to target large groups and wear is evident. On our stay the main door to the porch was broken, the microwave was broken, the floors quite scuffed and there was no water in the downstairs bathroom. So those are the negatives and we were told, except for the floors, they are all being addressed. It?s a large home, clunky as log cabins tend to be, but it has comfortable livingroom furniture and is equipped with the basics. Nicely located at the end of a potholed dirt road in a forested area with hillside walks behind the home that lead to a cleared area with a view of Mt. Shasta. It?s comfortable and spacious with a nice second story porch and located in a quite area. We enjoyed our stay.

The McCloud house was perfect for our family getaway. The house is absolutely beautiful, decorated tastefully, and had all the amenities we needed, not to mention the breathtaking views out every window. We enjoyed the local tips provided and made the most of our stay with a walk on the trail just outside the house to enjoy the summit vista. We also took a trip to McCloud Falls and Burney Falls. Splendid! We saw two bears during our stay but none of them bothered us. A perfect stay!

The managers of the property were so friendly and responded to our questions very quickly whenever we contacted them. Thank you!!! We'll be back for sure. Lastly, when you visit, check out the McCloud water falls. Beautiful and fun to swim in!

House was nice and clean. Road in was very poor.

The house is nice, the area is quiet and beautiful. We were disappointed to find the main French doors to the deck were broken and not functional. There were also not enough trash bags. Our main complaint would be the condition of the road going in, it was a huge mud hole with deep unavoidable potholes and it would apprear that it see?s little maintenance.
