This house was great! Although I do want to bring a few things to attention of others. The driveway almost needs to require a mandatory 4x4 or awd vehicle. And during snow, even with a 4x4 truck4 we did start to slip down to driveway and almost go over the ledge which was about 70ft high and could have easily been fatal. We were told the snow "wasn't that bad" even the snow plow truck could not make it to the top but eventually it was plowed. Another bummer about this house is being told to not use the hottub at night, and even to not charge our phones at night. I'm sorry but as I'm sure many people come to this house to ski, the only time anyone could use the house is at night. I'd suggest a better solar system with better battery retainment so people can actually use the house at night. other than that the place was awesome, great view, and as long as you can navigate those couple but important gripes you should have an amazing time! Sara was a great host minus making us feel like we were crazy for not being able to get up the driveway in a snowstorm after we almost slid off the ledge trying to go up.

So easy to work with, gave clear instructions for local attractions and amenities, and directions to the home. Clear check in and check out communication. Strongly recommend. Such a beautiful home and a beautiful location. If you not sure, about this place, then I encourage you to follow through. Make sure you have something that can handle a hill, particularly when it is slick. Even then, they worked with us. So a big thank you to you!

A beautiful lady getaway! There were 10 of us with plenty of room for more. The views were incredible, the hot tub in the cold morning divine! We spent a lot of time together in the kitchen and living room, cooking, dancing, star gazing and occasional wandering of the property. We enjoyed your property so much! Things to know: Bring firewood. Also, you are recommended by the host not to take showers baths or turn on the hot tub after dark which was about 7pm for us and was hard at the end of a long day of yoga and lounging and wandering ;) This might affect your choice to take this special place. The property and home are rustic and very natural, keep that in mind if you cant deal with a bit of flies. Oh and try the chi machine is divine!!

The photos don't do this place justice! The home itself it beautiful and huge - I stayed for 4 nights with 10 close friends and everyone felt like they could find their own space to enjoy the scenery. While the interior is gorgeous and unique, you'll likely find yourself gawking at the mountain range and summer lightning storms from the backyard or from several patios/balconies. The hot tub was wonderful for stargazing at night. The property itself is vast and has maintained trails that lead to even more wonderful views (make sure you get a map!). The only potential downside is that it is quite a distance from Santa Fe or Taos, but we ended up loving the feeling of seclusion (and we still made a day trip down to Santa Fe). Make sure you follow the directions provided once you get on the dirt road that leads you to the house - maps apps will lead you astray and service gets spotty on the way up.

No words could accurately capture the majestic splendor of this mountaintop retreat. So much care and attention has been put into creating this soul nourishing space. There are many wonderful rooms and amenities to explore within the house not to mention the surrounding expanse of stunning natural wonders. We could not have imagined a more perfect place to spend a weekend retreat, relaxing, recharging and exploring the inner workings of ourselves. I would definitely recommend staying here if you ever have the opportunity.

We stayed at Hawk Hill while visiting the area for the Santa Fe century bike race in May 2019. My family of four shared the space with my friend and his family, 10 of us in total. We also rented the Yurt, which proved to be one of our favorite features. It's set back from the main house to give privacy, but close enough to make visiting the main house for the bathroom convenient. The house is laid out in a unique, southwestern style with many interesting architectural flourishes. The space is roomy but also has areas for privacy including several exterior decks and a hot tub. We used the hot tub two days in a row - it offers stunning views of the local mountain range which still had snow caps in mid-May. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look! The only potential downsides to this home are that while it sleeps 10, most of the beds are singles, so for couples, you've only got the Yurt with it's (queen?) bed and the master suite with two double beds (might be queens). Great for large groups as long as everyone is okay with sharing space / sleeping separately. Some of the windows do not close properly and we had some very windy nights where wind rattled the windows or came through the gaps. This might be more of an issue in the winter. The house is nicely appointed with plenty of cooking gear including chef-grade pots and pans. We really enjoyed cooking nice meals in the kitchen! The house has fast Wifi, but no TVs. We don't watch much TV so that wasn't an issue for us, but is worth mentioning. The house also lacks a microwave - again, not an issue for us, but worth mentioning. The house is a 1:40 drive from Santa Fe, and about 50 minutes from Taos. Overall, we loved the house and the surrounding area. We would stay here again in the future!

Beautiful views. Kitchen is fully stocked but no microwave oven. The house is solar powered so you have to be mindful of power usage. The wifi worked for 12 devices at once which was great since there is no TV. The owner was helpful and met us to orient us to the property. A great New Mexico experience and would stay again.
