City: Little Switzerland, North Carolina Property ID: 369426

grand total: From $150 total Per Night

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Enjoy a romantic retreat with this 2-bedroom, 1-bath vacation rental cottage in the heart of Little Switzerland, which sleeps 4. Rightfully titled 'La Petite Chalet', this sweet property is filled with charming decor and a Parisian atmosphere that will transport you into a state of European ease. With stunning views of the Catawba Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains from the private tree house, you'll soon fall in love with this quintessentially Swiss and fabulously French traveler respite.

    THE PROPERTY

Bedroom 1 (Victoria's Room): Queen Bed | Bedroom 2 (Richard's Room): Full Bed

‘La Petite Chalet’ is perfect for those looking for an adventure to a mountain cottage filled with charming personality and unique touches.

The vibrant living room is filled with one-of-a-kind pieces - from the vintage chandelier to each couch or chair you'll cozy up on. This theme is seen throughout the cottage, with modern amenities sprinkled in between so the space is up-to-date.

As you venture into each bedroom, you'll find that they have personalities of their own. Check-in for the night in 'Victoria's Room', a MacKenzie-Child's inspired haven with a plush queen bed, or in the classically checkered 'Richard's Room' just down the hall, which boasts a full-sized bed.

Spend your mornings with a teacup of coffee in hand, listening to the local wildlife rustle through the forest from above in ‘La Petite Chalet’s’ private tree house. If the morning wind is too chilly, a spot in the glass enclosed gazebo will make you feel like you've transported to the lavish swiss countryside.

Make sure you take the time to walk the garden paths where you'll find incredible architecture, unique art pieces, an outdoor fire pit for evening marshmallow roasts, and a Swiss waterwheel. You'll be amazed by all the interior and exterior inclusions - Consider it a traveler's respite rather than a vacation rental!

    THE LOCATION

While this town may be 'little', it's filled with plenty of things to see and do! The "Switzerland Cafe and General Store" as well as "Books and Beans" antique bookshop, coffee and pastry shop is just across the street for your morning and mid day creature comforts, or meet some of the weary travelers in for a pit stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

If you want to spend the day with the travelers, take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway yourself. This national parkway is notable for the winding roads that take you on a tour of breathtaking views and the gorgeous mountains of North Carolina.

Once you're back and ready for more local excursions, an 8-minute drive will land you in Emerald Village, the premier gem mining attraction in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This historical location has 7 real mines that host underground tours, gold panning, and a chance to prospect for gems!

    Just Amazing!

Just book your stay already! :) You won't regret it!! Seriously one of The most fabulous places we have EVER stayed!! Clean and so very private. If you love the quietness of the mountains and beautiful views and also have an appreciation for art and cheerful decor, this is a must see. We loved the Gazebo best, but every spot just has character of its own! Unfortunately it rained our entire trip so we did not get to use the fire pit but the host keeps this stocked so you don't have to worry about bringing your own in. We would definitely return to this retreat!!!

We loved our time at the Fairy Tale cottage. Great character, clean, spacious - all you could ask for with a great location. We brought some wood (although there was some there) for a nice fire in the cool crisp all air and was perfect location to Linville Winery, Orchard at Altapass Pisgah National Forest and Blowing Rock. The town is very small, but across the street is a great coffee shop/book store with very welcoming people. Incredible views from the "tree house" and listening to nature as you sit outside was just what we needed to unwind from our very busy lives. It would be nice to have wi-fi at the house as we had NO reception. While it was a nice escape from the cell service, would've been nice to at least be able to research some of the activities to do via a wifi connection at least. We'd highly recommend this to a couple or family.

This was exactly as it was advertised. Such a beautiful, charming cottage with breathtaking views all around the area. The home was tastefully decorated and had everything you would need for a vacation. The glass gazebo was so peaceful and great for reading and enjoying the woodland views. Our host was wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. This is definately our "go to" place when we are in the Little Switzerland area.
