This is a small cabin in a rustic woods setting by a stream, with a full set of amenities... perfect for two.

We loved our stay at Lotsa Moose ... thank you for all the details you have furnished - some quirky and eccentric - all in all, the cabin is a miniature jewel with all the comforts one could ask for. The setting is beautiful and tranquil ... rain or shine, this is a joyful place!

Thanks for letting us stay 3 nights in your awesome cabin!!!

Love the peaceful scene and waterfalls. Great place. Was very cozy. Very quiet. Wasnt close to many people. Would go again. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
We had a wonderful time at this perfect little cabin in the woods. It was a little rainy and windy during our stay so we didn't get to spend as much time in the outdoor space as we would have liked but the cabin was so cozy and comfortable. Jack and Jim have everything you need and lots of extra touches that make this a special place. The town of Burnsville is super cute too with shops and eateries. Thanks for a great weekend getaway!

We had a great time here! I enjoyed sitting by the fire and playing games. Thank you for letting us stay in the wonderful cabin. 11 year old Linus from Durham, NC
Thanks so much for the warm welcome! We greatly enjoyed the beautiful outdoor areas and loved the cozy cabin & all the decor. The creeks and all the surroundings are beautiful and very relaxing. Definitely would love to return. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary stay!

Thank you for our stay at the cabin - it’s beautiful - and we enjoyed looking at all the different artifacts throughout the premises. We made use of the outdoor kitchen and fire pit area every night, making fullest use of its potential. The georgous creek views and sounds are “Heaven’s Gate”. We definitely plan to return. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality! The entire area is truly a beautiful, gorgeous, awesome wonderland!

Thanks so much for letting us use your cabin as home base last weekend. We didn’t get to explore as much as we would like- we spent most of our time visiting family in Bakersville ... but we love the thoughtfulness and details of your place and appreciate the special touches. As I write, the kids are staying up late , deep into an UNO cardgame competition.
We enjoyed it! Thanks again!

Staying at Lotsa Moose Lodge was fabulous! Backing right up to the Pisgah National Forest was so beautiful and peaceful. My daughter and the puppies enjoyed it too. The mountain stream was a place of serenity and gave me and my daughter some priceless memories and quality time I will never forget. We loved the fire pit and covered ‘camp’ area for outdoor grilling. The puppies thought they were in heaven! They have asked me three times to go back now....lol

If you have a simple party of two adults and (up to two children) THIS is the place for you!!! We had the MOST fantastic time and one of the best VRBO experiences I have had to date. The place is the cutest and MOST quaint little cabin. Truly I struggled to write this review for purely selfish reasons as I am hoping this gem doesn't get TOO popular so that we can come as often as we want. The nearby river was so much fun and we explored our first whole day just on the property. We were made VERY welcome and the atmosphere was just PERFECT. I would give this a 10 STAR ********** Rating if I could!! Thanks to our hosts for providing everything we needed for a wonderful stay!! Just bring you and your favorite foodies and you will not regret this stay!! Ciao

A last minute planned trip turned into one of the best decisions ever, with the warm welcome from our host to start us off. The entire cabin complex, campsite, creeks and many trails were as incredible as we could have ever dreamed. There was no detail left out, from the picnic table ready with table cloth, kindling already picked up and waiting...what a treat!
Our four - yes four BOYS - loved exploring the creeks and could not get enough of climbing on the boulders and just “being boys”. A great family hike towards Mt Celo was excellent exercise for all! We enjoyed a daytrip down the French Broad River and experienced class 2&3 rapids as a family. (About one hour drive to Nantahalla Outdoor Center and Rafting USA).
Thanks for a fabulous stay! Perfect weather and endless memories!!!

We landed at 230pm to our most awesome pleasure at this quaint and cozy location. Everything was exactly what we were hoping for much needed R&R. Kyle being a video engineer for ESPN and NBC, never gets a weekend away so it was paramount I found a perfect getaway. I have to say the place EXCEEDED my expectations. The atmosphere was complete with swaying tree branches, rustling leaves, smells of earthy pest moss and the rushing creek just yards away. We’ve already spent the afternoon exploring the creeks finding a huge snail, a perfect little frog and the most beautiful bright orange salamander. We are not quite sure if it is a river salamander but it sure brought lots of excitement for our eight year old daughter. It’s only our first night and we are eagerly anticipating our next adventures. We woke up early the next day and headed to Mt Mitchell, stopped by the visitors center, then hiked to the summit. It was a very foggy day so we couldn’t see the views, so we took a hike down the yellow/white path. It was perfect weather for hiking, cool and overcast and the woods were so dense it didn’t really matter. If you want a great workout that’s the trail to take. We went about two miles and headed back just in time before the rain started up, so we decided to go back to the cabin for a nice grilled dinner and a UNO cardgame marathon. Thanks to our hosts for making the place so cozy and having cards here just in case of rain!! The UNO deck provided our 8 year old with many laughs. We hope to make this an annual place to come and visit. Perfect destination for souls who seek much needed rejuvenation.
Sincerely, Kyle, Rebecca, Kiko and Levi.
We enjoyed our short stay very much. Hop to come again on our next holiday period to the USA. We have taken these happy memories home to Sri Lanka with us.The pleasant surroundings of the cabin were very familiar to us and therefore we felt at home living here. Thank you very much for affording us this pleasure.

Sun dappled trees, fresh spring water that tasted so sweet, butterflies that walk on your fingers, wild berries along our walk, bonfires with s’mores, the sound of rushing wares all around us, birds and critters of the night.....these are sounds and memories we will take with us. Thank you so much for this wonderful slice of heaven!

We absolutly loved our stay. It was the perdect space for the four of us and the pups. It was close to the family we were visiting and of course the scenery was amazing. We had every thing we needed. The decor was fabulous and nice to see Jim and Jacks personal touches. We all came away refreshed and relaxed.

This is such a great place! We so enjoyed our stay. We were so comfortable, warm and welcomed. It was so nice to get away from everyday life and just enjoy nature. We all feel relaxed and refreshed. We hope to utilize the Lodge when visiting family again. Peace to you!

We had a wonderful time! The property is beautiful, with two ways to access the creek, interesting decorations and art from all over the world, and easy walking access to a mountain hike. It's a cozy home - best for a small family or couple - but the outdoor spaces and fire pit kept us outside anyhow. burnsville is nearby and has lots of fun shops and local art.

Wow, so very impressed! We absolutely loved our stay here. The artifacts alone were enough to occupy our time. Sharing travel stories with you both made us feel right at home. The cabin is beautiful and the surrounding trails faves us a new adventure to explore every day. So peaceful and relaxing. Our two dogs found so many new smells - it’s going to be hard to get them in the car to go home! Jack and Jim were the most hospitable hosts, and we look forward to venturing back to Lotsa Moose again soon!
PS...the review will be longer next time!

Dear Jack and Jim,
Thank you for allowing us to make a return visit. During our first stay, we enjoyed discovering all the hidden treasures like little statues, birdhouses, 2 creeks, mica sprinkles, ect. This visit we looked forward to revisiting the discoveries, exploring further and simply relaxing....and we did just that. We read books in the rocking chairs, napped in the hammock, cooked over the fire and further explored the creeks. We hope to visit again when the weather warms and we can splash in the swimming hole.
All our best, Abby, Adrian,Linus, and Edison
A self composed handwritten review from our son Linus, age 10:
5 star review!!! Super awesome, cool and totally fun! I wish I could be here all the time. I loved going on hikes and roasting marshmallows over the fire. I also liked sleeping in the cabin. Playing in the wilderness was fun too. I liked this place a lot.
