The view from Smokies View is truly amazing. The cabin was clean. I would recommend replacing the pots and pans in the kitchen. There were some skillets and pans that we could not use due to the Teflon flaking off. This made it difficult to prepare Thanksgiving dinner. The roads to the cabin are in good condition but there are several blind spots that makes it difficult to see if you are meeting a vehicle. We were visited by bears several times and enjoyed watching them as they ran around in the yard and played in the trees. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. The Phillips and Lovette Families

We stayed here in early November. We arrived at night and could not see the views until the next morning. The views were AMAZING. The cabin was very clean, and accomodated us well. This place will give you the true Mountain feeling and everything is close by. About 20 minutes from everything. I don't think you would be disappointed. I know we weren't and will book Smokys View again.

    Outstanding cabin

We enjoyed our stay. Pictures did not do the cabin and the view justice...awesome.The directions to the cabin were not specific at all-mileage cues would've helped immensely .The key code did not open the door. I called the emergency number for the property manager, but she did not answer. I called Evolve directly and received a new code which worked fine to get us in the door. Later the property manager did return our call. She apologized that she could not hear her phone in a loud restaurant.

    Beautiful view

    Reviewed by: Rob D. on

The view was spectacular as you could see more than 180 degrees from the cabin. One view has to be a few miles. Neighborhood area has bears. We saw all four bears on this trip in this area. Three of which were in the side yard. The cabin was roomy for four adults and three teenagers. A few minor issues that did not cause us an issue though. The directions given by the rental company were not clear and longer than the GPS. Once we discovered that we never went that way again. Our families would rebook this again.

My husband, daughter, son in law and 5 year old grandson spent a week at this cabin. We found it safe for a child. Everything was marked well and all appliances worked. It could use a few new skillets. Just a warning this cabin is up in the mountains and roads to get there were steep, curved and mostly one lane. The views are beautiful. We enjoyed eating outside on the deck or just setting in rocking chairs watching sun set. We would recommend this cabin.

Additionally, the owner has updated the cabin with a new log dining room set, a new rug for the living room and main floor bedroom, as well as a new television in the main floor bedroom. Ok - Not for Kids - wont use a property run by Evolve again

    Reviewed by: Dana F. on

I'll never stay in a property managed by Evolve again. We tried to reach out to them twice. Both times the turnaround for a response was 2 days. Not optimal when you are staying for just 6 days. Right in the description they post for the cabin is this "During your stay, your designated Guest Contact will be available 24/7 to help with any issues that may arise." Yet that is not what happened at all. The Property - The pictures are painstakingly taken to omit what is basically a tiny lot on a cliff. It is not child safe, which is not noted anywhere in the ad. People with children PLEASE TAKE NOTE. We did not allow are kids outside alone. For a group of adults this would be a great property. The house is near the top of a mountain, along a very narrow winding road. I'm from Colorado, I'm used to this. But other guests at other homes on the mountain were doing 25-30mph down it at times(only one car can fit) and we were nearly hit head on twice. There are several switchbacks towards the top that you can not see around and must pray one of these knuckleheads isn't flying at you as you go around. The house - My wife fell down an entire flight of stairs from the 3rd floor. One of the reasons we reached out to Evolve. THERE IS NO HAND RAIL ON THESE STAIRS. It's extremely dangerous and when they finally responded they seemed very indifferent about it. Thank god she was okay and just very bruised. The amenities - no fault of anyone but we don't know the area and when it listed a pool at the community center I assumed it was close...in the community. It's 25 minutes away. Lesson learned to map everything out and dont take what is listed at face value. I'm guessing the homeowners are unaware of the lack of actual property management happening and I'm sure are sweet people but look elsewhere than something run by Evolve if you want a hassle free stay for the price.

    Manager's Response:
Dana, we're so sorry to hear your stay didn't meet your expectations. Here at Evolve, we aim to make vacation rental easy for everyone and this is not the level of service we aim to offer our guests. We are constantly working on improving our turn around times to ensure that this does not happen to any future guests. We recommend guests reach out to the designated guest contact as they are local to the area and always available to assist during your stay. The cabin is perched on the mountainside to allow for beautiful mountain and valley views. There is a gate across the front porch entrance that can be closed and locked so adults can enjoy the deck knowing their children are safe. We take safety concerns seriously and are so sorry to hear about the incident with the stairs. There is a handrail on the left side of the stairs and the wall on the right side of the stairs. There are 2 public pools in the area. One is 5 minutes away and one is 20 minutes away. We apologize if there was a misunderstanding about there being a neighborhood pool. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and the homeowner and property manager are working to make the necessary adjustments to ensure these issues don't recur for future guests. As evident in other reviews, past guests regularly have five-star experiences at this property and we are confident future guests will have exceptional stays! Best, the Evolve Team

We have stayed in MANY lovely cabins off Wears Valley Road over the years. We know all about the steep roadways - if you are about the view, then that's how you get them. :-) We are about the view and this was one of the finest. This cabin worked perfectly for our family- 8 of us. Plenty of cozy room and the "special touches" - too many to name - were appreciated. Mama bear and her 3 cubs visited the yard on a daily basis. We stayed quiet and watched them play - the cubs even played with our "corn hole" set. Leave them alone and don't feed them. This is THEIR mountain - YOU are the visitor. :-) It would be nice to have a TV in the main floor bedroom. Everything was wonderful - no issues at all. Thank you for sharing your slice of heaven with us. We'll be back!!!

    Manager's Response:
Michael, thank you for your review. We're sorry about the plumbing issue you faced during your stay. Unfortunately, there were freezing cold temperatures in the area, so plumbers were busy fixing broken pipes and unable to get to the property as quickly as they usually would have. However, the homeowner did attempt to resolve the issue immediately, and ultimately, it was fixed as soon as the plumber could get there. Beautiful views, loved drinking coffee in morning on back porch. Thanks to Hurricane Nate we stayed in the cabin most of the day Sunday and enjoyed the rain and fog moving in and out. Gave us a day of rest and relaxation enjoying memories with lots of love and laughter. Only negative is we slept downstairs and it was COLD. Only 1 thermostat to control downstairs and ground level! Otherwise, AWESOME!

Very nice cabin. Enough room for your whole family. Everything you needed on-site. The views from the 3 decks were simply breathtaking. The only bad thing was I wish we could have stayed longer!! I would definitely recommend it.

The view of this cabin is simply amazing and shows you exactly why you are in the Great Smoky Mountains. It's cozy and extremely well maintained. The drive up is very steep but so worth the view! We had 5 adults and 2 kids staying here and all were very happy with it. Truly could not have been better and will book again for our next vacation I am sure.

This place was magical. 3 decks overlooking the smokies, one with a jacuzzi! It was truly paradise. Pam was an incredible communicator, with step by step directions to the house. The house was incredibly clean, everything was labeled and easy to use. I am definitely going to be back!
