About an hour away is Lake Moomaw, perfect for fishing and summer water sports. There are also a lot of nearby rivers to enjoy.
Head to Alleghany Highlands nearby, where you'll find hiking and biking trails along with the option for canoeing and kayaking.
And in just about 20 minutes you can get to one of the top attractions in the area - The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs. This spot is well-known for its historic value as well as some of the best hot springs in the area.
Of course there are dozens of nature trails around the property and if you have any golfers in your group they'll be thrilled to play a few rounds at the Historic Cascades Golf Course at the Omni Homestead Resort, surrounded by the beauty of the valley. Simply unforgettable.
And finally, for the shoppers and foodies in your party, you'll only be about a 25-minute drive away from Clifton Forge, with a charming main street offering great dining and shopping to pass the time. Weekend With Friends
3/5 Beautiful view. We met friends here for a long weekend. Enjoyed the screened porch and walking around the property. Wished we had taken a pool stick. There were no tips on theirs, so we bought tips at Walmart. Our friends ended up at doctor with bedbugs, but our bed was clean. She was miserable all weekend. Spoke with caretaker after our friend went to doc on her way home, she said she would notify owners immediately and resolve the issue. She was very apologetic.

Beautiful secluded cabin
5/5 We loved our stay in November. There was a little snow that was beautiful, the leaves had all fallen but the mountains and trees were amazing- absolutely great views from the deck. The cabin is lovely and I’m sure the spring and fall months would be breathtaking. You definitely need a 4WD and not a small car in the non winter months. There were no issues with the cabin for us, the owner was very helpful with our questions. We did not choose to use the wood stove as we went familiar with them but that would be a necessity for a cozy warm cabin.I saw some reviews with different issues from towels to beds and we had no problems with any of this.If you need a getaway cabin it’s certainly a great place to go, WiFi capabilities help of you have to work with internet use. The pool table downstairs is aslo a nice feature. Thanks for a beautiful get away in the mountains!

No customer service
3/5 VRBO contact person for this property never returned a phone call or email. I have rented from VRBO in the past and never had an issue with customer service, however this time customer service did not exist.
