  • Cozy Cottage

    5/5

This lovely cottage was exactly as pictured. The check in process was easy and Rick and Alexandra were very friendly. Staying in Tesuque Village was a fun experience with the popular market within walking distance and the el Nido restaurant, which was excellent, just down the street. We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting the Santa Fe area.

  • Needs a lot of Attention

    1/5

We don’t normally leave negative reviews but, We spent three nights here. From the beginning, we were battling spiders and other bugs. The spiders were everywhere. In the Kitchen, on the floors, in the bathroom, in the window wells, it was very creepy and made it impossible to be comfortable at night. We even found them in bed one night.

Next, when we took a shower the first morning, we discovered that the shower floor was cracked and water has been running underneath causing the floor to sag, making it impossible to stand upright and steady. Also, because of the water, the wood around the outside of the shower is rotted on the bottom.

Next, there is absolutely no privacy in the cabin. Windows in the bathroom have no curtains, allowing anyone to peer into the cabin and the main patio door has a split curtain that does not cover the whole window opening. One evening we were trying to relax on the bed and there were two guys walking around back near the windows! Not sure if they were peering in?

Also, one of the chairs at the table had a broken rung and cracked seat making you wonder when you would end up on the floor. Very unstable.

We couldn’t get the television to work even following the instructions.

We didn’t use the outside patio because the chairs and tablecloths didn’t look like they had been cleaned in months.

The last straw was when we were getting ready to leave on the last morning. My husband was in the bathroom and a mouse practically ran across his foot! It came from the shower area and ran under the far end of the baseboard heater.

We didn’t spend this kind of money to deal with this kind of emotional stress on vacation. It was not conducive to relaxation.

The cabin itself was charming and clean but there are ways to resolve all these issues which seem, unfortunately, to have been ignored.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Julie. We want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize that you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the owner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
    - We’re truly sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We will put out more insect repellent. In the past, we've used insect sprays with natural repellents to be considerate of guest’s sensitivities.
    - A new shower will be installed as soon as we have an adequate break in bookings. We are aware of the cracking on the floor and our plumber told us the floor was solid underneath. We'll be sure to do a temporary fix when we have time between guests.
    - We've never received complaints about the bathroom windows in the past. There were technicians who were assessing the area for the installation of a charging station for electric vehicles that would run from the guesthouse to the parking area. We can assure you they were not peering inside.
    - Due to the heavy rain that occurred before your stay, it appears that our cleaning crew was not able to address the patio tables and chairs. This should not have been missed, and we will pass this feedback along to ensure future guests do not have the same experience.
    - As the home is located in the country, mice can be prevalent in the area and occasionally enter if doors are left open. We have ongoing pest control that manages and protects the home from these issues.
We are readily available to assist with any issues that may occur and wish you would have reached out to us while you were in residence. We truly go above and beyond and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays.

  • Charming Shabby Chic Cabin close to Santa Fe!

    4/5

The cabin is located in Tesuque, a sweet village 10 minutes outside of Santa Fe.

It is charmingly decorated in a shabby chic style.

The one room cabin is laid out well, and covers your basic needs.

    The patio is also nice.

I was concerned about the high heat, but the property managers provided me with a large fan, which, along with the overhead fan; kept the cabin cool enough.

The managers, Rick and Alexandra, were very nice and hospitable, a pleasure to talk with.

Some minor fix ups would make the cabin stay improved, such as a working light for the shower, a hook on the wall for the hair dryer.

    A delightful, unique stay!

  • Friendly hosts and charming studio!

    5/5

The hosts were so kind and very friendly. They had plenty of suggestions of things to do in the area, and you could tell they put a lot into their rental and the guest experience. The cabin was secluded and cozy- perfect for in and out between sight seeing.
