Scottsdale home on quiet cul de sac

    Reviewed by: Kellie on

    Comment:

This 4 bedroom 2 bath home sits at the end of a quiet cul de sac and has plenty of parking. Like many Arizona homes the yard is gravel and there is an unfenced pool in the back yard, a covered patio area with a table and chairs and a bbq. The home is accessed via a code at the front door and locked with the code box and worked great our entire stay. We have stayed at other homes where the lock failed or we had to share a key so this was great. The neighborhood was quiet and the house backs up to some open space where there is a walking path. The beds were comfortable. The wifi worked well. We did not use the pool but it looked very clean. There is a pool table in the front room which we also did not use. The kitchen had an adequate supply of dishes and utensils but seemed to be stocked with leftovers from previous guests. There was no foil or baggies, but lots of spices and pasta. The only issues we had were cleaning related. Our first night I cooked and the oven was so dirty it smoked. I had to clean it the next day. There were dirty dishes in the cupboard so I had to run them all through the dishwasher. There was a dirty pot I had to wash before I used it. I picked up a grocery bag of dog poop in the back yard. My daughter dropped her earring under the bed in the room with a desk (no dresser and no chair, kinda weird) and used her flashlight app to look for it. There were a bunch of discarded contact lenses under the bed! Eww! The washer stopped working on Friday and we weren't leaving until Monday, property manager was unable to get it fixed before our departure. The master toilet runs, The single keurig style side of the coffeemaker didn't work but it made carafes great. The non master bath gfci plug trips when using a hairdryer and the reset is in the master bath. The oven timer counts down but doesn't buzz when time is up so use the timer on the microwave. There is a drip irrigation line in the front that jets water over to the sidewalk when the sprinklers go on. The lights and ceiling fans use remotes and were hard to operate. We couldn't get the master bedroom light and fan to turn off when we left. Even with the cleaning issues, I would stay here again as long as the washer worked. I would just know to check the dishes and pots and pans.

    Excellent Property, beautiful back yard!

We rented this property for 5 days. We were 5 bridesmaids in town for our girlfriend?s wedding and the experience was amazing. The property was clean, spacious and equipped with all the basic amenities. Huge back yard, perfect for relaxing and sitting by the pool and a beautiful view of the McDowell mountains to boot. Close to Kierland shopping center, Old Town Scottsdale and plenty of trails with scenic views nearby. The owners were very flexible with check-in and check-out times and let us extend our stay for as long as we wanted at the last minute. Kyle, the property manager greeted us at the house when we arrived and gave us the personal tour of the property. Would definitely recommend this jewel of a property.

    Fantastic Stay!

We just returned for a second stay at this wonderful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The accommodations were second to none from start to finish. Kyle, the property manager was wonderful to deal with and was always available with any questions and requests we had. The home was extremely clean and the furnishings upgraded since our last stay. The pool table was a delight and kept the kids entertained. The king bed was extremely comfortable. The bedding and towels were high quality as well. The home was well stocked with a good supply of toiletries, paper towels and other necessities including a new Kuerig coffee machine in the kitchen. A nice surprise. Everything was in good working condition. The home is situated in a quiet peaceful neighborhood in a cul de sac with many restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance. Overall great experience and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Arizona.

Nice place to spend a week

A modest home in upscale Scottsdale. Sits on a cul de sac of a quiet neighborhood, all I heard was birds. The house was well stocked with towels and dishes you?d need. My kids enjoyed the pool and pool table, a little disappointed that the ping pong table was damaged. The pool used a solar blanket to keep it warm enough to comfortably swim, but it was a warmer than usual week for this time of year. The house is close to everything you?d want to do in Phoenix...15 min from Camelback mountain and Old Town, 30 min from Chase Field and airport, and lots of golf nearby. Grocery store less than 5 min away. Very convenient and comfortable place to stay. I?d stay again.

I would NOT rent from Evolve again. A week after renting the house I found a past review on the house. It was not flattering. It mentioned the pictures of the house did not reflect the current condition of the house. When I was shopping on the website this review wasn't there. My guess is that Evolve pulled the house off the website in order to reset and clear all reviews. Not sure if this is true or possible but the review was not available before I rented. Lack of attention to detail on many areas: 1) Called contact person (Bob Hunt) 2 days before arrival. He was confused on the days of our stay. He asked if we had received an email regarding check-in. We had not. One was then sent. 2) Upon arrival, there was not any information on the wi-fi password or operation of the air conditioner (It was a Nest thermostat. Hadn't seen one before). Further, the overall cleanliness of the rental was sub-standard. (More on that later) I then text Bob three times and didn't receive a response until the next morning. When I called him in the morning, he said there should be a binder on the glass coffee table with the information I was asking. It was not there. 3) Overall cleanliness. I wish I could post pictures because they don't lie. The couch looked like four people just ate dinner and didn't bother wiping off the crumbs. Further, there was many long blonde hairs and stain that would have soiled someone's pants if they sat on it. There was garbage behind a nightstand. There was a towel hanging in the bedroom closet from the previous renter. The carpets had not been vacuumed as you could see debris in it which wouldn't have been there if someone had vacuumed. There were Cheetos under one bed. The pool had not been cleaned in a month or more. The grill had not had a wire brush over it at least after it's last use, probably longer. There was a large cigar butt in the back yard by the pool. Finally, there was a piece of wooden molding separating the wood floor from the tile floor that was split and was very much a hazard if someone without shoes had walked over it. Final word: Stay clear. There are many other potential housed to rent in Phoenix. Check them out.
