    Walk through the lovely front garden with outdoor seating and enter into this inviting, Victorian home. Though fully remodeled, the property still provides an early twentieth-century look and feel.

    The kitchen offers a charming gas-burning stove with lock-handle oven doors, an antique refrigerator/freezer, a spacious countertop and kitchen table that seats four. Have a morning tea, bake some gooey chocolate-chip cookies and start roasting spare-ribs in the crockpot to enjoy later in the day.

    Take your party into the large dining room, pour a glass of wine and relax on the comfortable seating. Dine on home-cooked meals under natural light pouring from the 3 surrounding windows.

    Beautifully updated Victorian in great location for our CO Springs visit

    We will be back! The house was updated and still had character and charm. Wish we had more time to enjoy the house! Great location for walking into downtown. Although Tim lives upstairs we saw him only when we texted with questions:) My husband forgot a book and found one in the bookshelves and I appreciated the yoga mat:) Thanks Tim!

    Very pleasant adorable Victorian

    Tim was a perfect host. We saw him for twenty minutes the first day for our tour of the home and did not see or hear him the rest of the visit. Yet when I text him with a question he immediately text me back. His home was so refreshing and well stocked. The old fashioned stove was a treat for anyone who enjoys cooking and the old time refrigerator was a nice touch. The bed linens were of great quality and the bathroom was large and charming. The kitchen was beautiful and the back yard was so lovely. The only missing element for us was a couch which would have been nice to use when we had a restless night or needed to crash on a lazy afternoon. Otherwise we were so happy with our stay.

    Great location & charmful

    We met the host on our 2nd day and he was very accommodating and will be upstairs if you have any questions or needs. This quaint little cottage is a 2 bedroom on 1st level with access to the basement to do laundry. Extras we enjoyed were the "Fenced" in private back yard with fire pit to enjoy your evenings and a wood burner in the living room to nip the cold for warmth and comfort. Host provided extras such as firewood, paper towels and toilet paper which was a real plus. Great location to start from on your adventures to the Garden of Gods, Pikes Peak, Denver, Cripple Creek and downtown Colorado Springs. A couple hours from Rocky Mountains but a great location for all we wanted. We would rent this one again.

    This place is a joke!

    ***The homeowner lives upstairs and this wasn't disclosed*** We arrived and the lights in the bathroom weren't working and a breaker was thrown in the kitchen so the microwave and the lights in the kitchen weren't working. The homeowner had to come and fix this basic requirement and then we found out he lived upstairs. He gave us a tour: 1. Living room has no couch or recliners (it has a wicker chair and two very old chairs where the springs are broken.). 2: Bathroom has pedestal bathtub that rocks back and forth with two shower heads that hit you from both sides (very weird). 3: Both bedrooms have very old and uncomfortable beds with little space. 4: The kitchen is a deal breaker as well. We had to plug the antique fridge in when we arrived and there was no freezer. The stove is not functional as it is also antique. Running the dishwasher throws the breaker. Running the microwave throws the breaker. There is no garbage disposal in the kitchen. Do I need to keep going? You will also have the benefit of hearing the homeowner walk around, cough, and talk on the phone late at night and in the morning as the walls are paper thin. The homeowner will also schedule maintenance while you are staying there instead of waiting until the place is vacant. The homeowner is trying to get rental income without having a rental property. This place is not functional at all I would never stay here again.

    Matt, we are very sorry to hear that this home fell short of expectations and we appreciate your feedback. We have worked with the homeowner to address the issues you mentioned and they have requested to respond with the following comments:

    "It is unfortunate that this guest didn't understand I lived upstairs, and am available to answer questions and point my guests to local food, locales and entertainment. (Also to flip a breaker if one should go out.) The structure is a 1902 brick home with all updated wiring and remodeled main floor. My guests stay in the bedrooms with antique or retro-style furniture and beds with new mattress/box springs (2015). The living room is period sized, and doesn't have room for a couch, so there is an antique Mission style chair and foot-stool, a 50's retro upholstered chair and a wicker chair. No broken springs or sags.

    There is no garbage disposal as I compost all organic waste. Another reason is that 115 year old plumbing to street is happier without the organic solids, and so is the municipal treatment plant. The dishwasher is a modern, super quiet and efficient Bosch.

    The bathroom has a 6 ft Victorian freestanding tub and yes, two shower-heads for that luxurious both sides warm feeling. Each head is individually controlled, and may be shut off simply. The tub sits on octagonal tiled sloped shower floor, (redone in 2016), and yes there is a rubber washer under the legs to keep it level and steady and to keep it in one place as it is not plumbed in, but is there for the aesthetics. I or the housekeeper check to be sure it is there, and following this, I will ensure it stays permanently with a bit of silicone.

    Other than flipping the breaker I don't know of any maintenance that was scheduled during the stay. As you didn't mention to me that the breaker was thrown by running the appliances, and I have not noted it before nor since.

    When guests are present, I try to make myself scarce, to provide them with all the privacy I am able, and walk softly. It is an older home and floors can creak in spots.

    I do wish I had been made aware of these issues while the guest was - they would have happily been addressed, and if unable to satisfy their needs I would have taken generous measures to ensure they left happy."

    Not horrible but not what we expected... ??

    The home owner lives on the property in an upstairs apartment, which is NOT in the listing. Once you walk through the front door the only thing separating you and the owner is a staircase and a door. Otherwise you share the front yard, back yard, parking area and most sounds since the home is older. The location is so-so but definitely not a neighborhood we felt comfortable being outside in for long. The owner was very kind to us and the section of the home we stayed in wasn't bad but we were expecting privacy above all and didn't feel we had it the entire stay.

    Living and Relaxing in Colorado Springs

    The owner, Tim Dolan, met us upon arrival and went over all the details of the house and showed us how to work everything. This house is so charming with the old refrigerator and stove. It does have NEW air-conditioning and that is very nice. After seeing the sights we would come back to the house and enjoy our wine in the lovely back yard or the enchanting front yard. This house is close to EVERYTHING that a tourist wants to see in the area. I hated to leave after three days because this house was perfect in every way. Reviewer location Hewitt. TX
