This property is beautiful. Pet friendly with plenty of room to walk your dogs in the peace and quiet. The rental was very clean and had everything we needed. This is the downstairs of the house so having upstairs neighbors can be inconvenient at times. I wish there were curtains on the doors and that they would replace the missing blinds so that could have given us some privacy from our upstairs neighbors walking their dog and staring right in at us. My only other complaint is having to take your trash with you-leaving on a Sunday (and probably a holidays too) means bringing your trash all the way home because the trash drop off is closed. We loved how close this is to town yet in a peaceful area. Definitely contact the actual owners for driving directions because GPS will get you lost. And try to arrive before dark to make it easier to find. We look forward to coming back and maybe renting the big house (the owners have 3 rentals on the property) with our extended family!

    Peace, Quiet, & Beautiful Views

We primarily travelled into this NC mountain area to witness the beautiful fall color changes without the commercial establishment ?hustle & bustle? like in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. To say we thoroughly relaxed & enjoyed ourselves is an understatement ... we look forward to coming back again! Ms. Gail (the property owner) was quick & very courteous to respond by email to some questions we had prior to our arrival. The property location is somewhat remote (yet reachable) if traveling by sedan. Burnsville is a small town, not far away, & has just about anything you?ll need during your stay in this mountainside retreat. God bless!

We were extremely pleased with the apartment in the Pisgah National Forest. Couldn't have asked for a more pleasant few days. The trip was just not long enough but thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was exactly as pictured on the internet and was such a clean and wonderful place. I will recommend this to all my friends. Hope to stay another time in the future.

    Perfect Mountain Getaway

This was a perfect place to spend New Years Eve with a few close friends. A gorgeous view from main living area/kitchen. Very clean and accommodating. We enjoyed using the fireplace as it was quite cold outside. Was a little tricky getting up the driveway with some snow and ice on roads, but made it work and was relieved to cozy up in the place for a few days. Great launching spot for lots of great hikes or for a day trip to Asheville of which we did both. Highly recommend!

We arrived in the area after sunset, so were a little nervous about finding our way up the mountain roads and making the climb. We were very pleased with the appearance of the house and the furnishings. We were even more impressed the next morning with the view, the privacy and enjoyed hiking further up the mountain. We, got down to Burnsville for the crafts sale around the square. It was interesting to learn about the connection of Burnsville to our coastal Onslow County. Anyway, it felt good to get to the cool dry mountains and get a break from the heat and humidity in Jacksonville, N.C.

4 stars are mainly for the porch, the beautiful view, and the central air conditioning. The interior and beds were acceptable and clean. TV reception was good. The kitchen equipment and cooking utensils were limited. All groceries had to be stored on the counter tops and windowsills because the few cabinets were full.

We think a property of this type should include free wi-fi instead of having a charge for it. And it would be really nice to have a gas grill.

All in all, though, we enjoyed our stay. It is a lovely location, not too far from Burnsville and other attractions in the area. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this rental.
